Abstract

This article explores the ideas of Said Nursi meaning of the phrase “Lâ ilâh illa Allâh”. The article concludes that God is perfect and He is there without a cause, because if there is a reason for him that means the dependency does not make perfect. God was the first manifestation of the most sublime. Therefore, God is the substance most original and ever-present. His essence itself be a sufficient cause for the manifestation of His eternity. For Said Nursi, the human mind may not be able to understand God directly. Therefore, there needs to be an explanation of God’s creation. Nursi interpret the phrase la ilaha illallah which makes everything that exists in this universe like a meaningful pieces that reflect the unity of God as Rabb al-‘Âlamîn. By knowing his creation, it will be easy to know God.

Abstract

Al-Ghazali is one of the most phenomenal Islamic figures, he is known by various groups both in the Islamic and non-Islamic worlds. As a very productive Islamic figure, al-Ghazali produced many great works as the fruit of his broad and deep thoughts. His knowledge is very broad spanning various fields of study. In this article, the author describes al-Ghazali's thoughts about science which is the embryo of character education which is currently a trend in the world of education in Indonesia. The effort of writing this article is also to open the horizons of al-Ghazali's scientific concepts which of course have been studied by many people. It's just that the author tries to systematize this article through a philosophical approach, namely aspects of ontology, epistemology and axiology. The concept of science according to al-Ghazali is an intellectual endeavor to see the horizon of the concept of science that is approached through this philosophical approach. That the science or science in question is comprehensive. This means that in al-Ghazali's perspective, science is not only oriented to intellectual intelligence. However, science is also oriented towards emotional and spiritual intelligence as well. Psychological-pedagogic review is used to see the point of view of science in shaping and giving birth to emotional intelligence. Where at this time the world of education is experiencing disorientation in its educational goals which should be able to shape and create a complete human being.

Abstract

Mengikuti arus dan tidak terkena arus, layak menjadi kata bijak bagi seorang Jabiri, dengan langkah modernitas yang ia bangun mencoba mengenalkan bangunan epistemologinya pada dunia barat, ia merupakan tokoh yang banyak mencatut wacana lama dan memolesnya dengan gaya baru sehingga orisinalitasnya bisa berkesan seperti yang ia bangun sampai sekarang masih menggema sebagai sebuah wacana. Hal itu menjadi pilihan yang tidak terelakkan, karena mampu mencakup segala hal yang berhubungan dengan sumber pengetahuan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan data-data deskriptif tentang konsep trilogi epistemologi Mohammed Abid Al Jabiri. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan mengumpulkan data dari berbagai sumber pustaka seperti buku, majalah, catatan, dan kisah-kisah sejarah. Penelitian ini bersifat menyeluruh (holistik) dengan menganggap keseluruhan sebagai kesatuan yang lebih penting daripada satu bagian. Al-Jabiri mencoba mendasari keilmuan dengan tiga hal, bayani, irfani dan burhani, yang menjadi epistemologi Islam. Namun di sisi lain, pemikirannya banyak menuai kritikan tajam, karena ada unsur subjektifitas yang ia lakukan, jika ada tokoh yang mendukungnya dari pemikirannya, maka ia catut dan mengalahkan pemikir pemikir atau pendapat yang lain, selain itu, pemikir selanjutnya menemukan bahwa pemikiran yang dicetuskan oleh Jabiri adalah sesuatu yang tidak orisinil, hal ini didapat dari pemikir Zaki Najib Mahmud yang dicetuskan pada tahun 1977. Namun setidaknya Jabiri mampu membangun wacana epistemologi dengan trilogi pemikirannya, walau terdapat kesalahan di sana-sini, hal itu merupakan hal yang wajar, karena bagaimanapun juga Jabiri adalah manusia biasa yang mencoba membangun modernitas di dunia Islam tanpa kehilangan ruh Islamnya.
