Abstract

In the educational process, students face various problems, one of which is the difficulty in understanding the material due to its complexity of the material. New technology-based media are being introduced that help students in the learning process, such as virtual reality (VR). This research aims to produce a product in the form of virtual reality development media as a learning medium for animal diversity. This type of research is developed using a 4D model design. The data collection method uses non-test with research instruments, namely expert validation questionnaires and user validation questionnaires. As well as data analysis techniques using descriptive analysis to describe the results of questionnaires distributed to experts, practitioners, and students as research subjects consisting of media experts, material experts, practitioners, and students. The results of the product feasibility tests carried out on media experts, material experts, and students get many positive responses. So it can be concluded that the virtual reality media of animal diversity is suitable for learning. This media makes it easy for students to understand the variety of animals and provides an attraction for students so that an increased desire to learn arises.

Abstract

Creative thinking is an essential skill in learning for students. Students can think creatively by showing new ways of thinking, daring to compile questions and likely answers, and giving new ideas. In addition, this study aims to analyses creative thinking skills using a series of image media. This research uses descriptive qualitative research with a case study model. The subjects of this study were grade III students numbering 50 students. This research method uses interviews to follow up on these findings. Interviews were conducted to find out the problems that occurred. The interview used is structured. Data analyses in this study used the theory of Miles and Huberman. The results of the overall research and creative thinking skills in writing essays with series image media still have to be re-evaluated. The students seemed to have trouble getting ideas into narrative-based writing. This will result in learning to write narratives that are hampered.  In general, it is proven that more than half of the sample numbers of students still do not meet the four aspects of creative thinking indicators, so it will undoubtedly hinder the learning process in the classroom, especially related to writing skills. This research implies that it is hoped that all stakeholders will be able to realize the importance of creative thinking skills early by training students using series image media or others.

Abstract

During the pandemic, the government implemented an online mode of learning. However, there is an unpreparedness of the school in managing this mode of learning, therefore student competence does not develop. This study aims to analyses the effect of student perceptions, learning readiness, and stress levels on learning outcomes during the pandemic. The research approach used is quantitative with a survey and correlational design. Random sampling technique was used with a total sample of 149 of Vocational High School students. Furthermore, questionnaires and student scores were used for data collection. The data analysis technique is carried out using categorization based on Azwar's theory. The results showed that student' perceptions, readiness to learn, and stress levels had a significant effect on learning outcomes. The role of teacher needs to improve learning patterns; therefore learning is more interesting and establishes good communication with students. Parents must provide a conducive learning place. Meanwhile during the pandemic, teachers need to pay attention in giving assignments, therefore this does not make students overwhelmed and depressed. The implication is that teachers must design more innovative learning so that students are enthusiastic. Therefore, practical learning innovations are important to be developed further.

Abstract

Active learning plays a vital role in learning because it can affect student learning outcomes. However, teachers still use conventional learning methods or teacher-centered learning. This study aimed to analyze the increase in student activity, student response, and student learning outcomes using the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning method. This type of research is a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study was 35 students. Data collection methods used observation, tests, and questionnaires with instruments including student activity observation sheets, pre-test, and post-test questions, and student response questionnaire sheets. Data were analyzed using a quantitative descriptive method. Based on the research results, the results of student learning activities showed a percentage of 78% at meeting 1 increased to 84.64% at meeting 2. The TPS learning method received very good responses from students. A percentage of 81.56% indicated this. Student learning outcomes in the pre-test by 31% increased to 100% in the post-test results. Applying the TPS learning method could increase student activity, response, and learning outcomes in vocational fashion subjects.
