Abstract

This study aims to find out about the demand and factors that influence the demand for vegetables in households in Kadia Village, Kadia District, Kendari City. This research was conducted in Kadia City Kendari Regency with a sample of 99 respondents who were determined by purposive random sampling. The results showed that: Demand for vegetables in households in Kadia Kadia Village, Kendari Regency, had an average consumption of vegetables of 7.94 kg with a frequency of average vegetable consumption of 16.65 times a month and factors affecting demand for vegetables in households in Kadia Kadia Village, Kendari Regency, vegetable prices, price of tempeh / tofu, price of eggs, price of chicken meat, price of fish, number of family members, and family income. The results of the t-test analysis found that only the variable vegetable prices and chicken meat prices were significant at the 90% confidence level.

Abstract

This research aims to gain knownedge that whole and profound about the patterns of the patron-client relationships in the farming community of seaweed in the Bungin Permai Village using what became relations identifier of patron-client based on the theory of patron-client James C. Scott. This type of research is qualitative research using the postpositivisme paradigm. The methods used in this research is a method of triangulation analisys technique is done by comparing the information or data with different way. The technique of data collections was done through literature review, observation and in-depth interview with seaweed farming community in the village of Bungin Permai.  The results showed that the survival of the patron client relationship in Bungin Permai Village in the future between seaweed farmers with traders will continue or intertwined due to the deliberately constructed by both parties without any who feel harmed, although the patron client relationship it’s seen not balanced. Patron client relationship in the Bungin Permai Village is the protection relationship between both parties who need each other though in unequal levels such as the patron gives a debt to the client, to reply by clients by selling yields only to the patrons and in addition, the client is also willing to help patrons if patrons need of assistance. The loyalty relationship between patron with clients in Bungin Permai Village occurs because each of them is already cultivating a trusting nature and patrons also always provides convenience to its clients. Abstract

This research was conducted in the Bungin Permai Village of Tinanggea Sub-district of Konawe Selatan District. The aims of this research were: (1) to know the behavior of farmers toward the risk of farming, and (2) to know the socio-economic factors that affect the behavior of farmers toward the risk of farming seaweed. Sample farmer determined using simple random sampling methods. The number of samples in this research as much as 37 seaweed farmers. Analytical techniques used in this research is twofold, namely the utility function kuadratik to analyze the behavior of farmers against risks, and multiple linear regression analysis was used to analyse the socio-economic factors that affect the behavior of farmers toward the risk. The results of the analysis show that the behavior of farmers towards risks are risk averse 86.48% of farmers, risk lovers 5.41% of farmers, and risk neutral 8.11% of farmers. The experience of farming and extensive construction will increase the reluctance of farmers toward the risk, while the acceptance will increase farmers courage toward the risk of farming

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in income before and after farmers make shifts of rice paddy farming land into lime farming in Watabenua Village, Landono District, South Konawe Regency. The number of samples used in this study was 33 people. The sample used was rice paddy farmers who transitioned their rice fields into lime plants. The data analysis method used in the study was a different test paired sample t-test. The results showed that the results of the analysis of different test paired sample t-test with α = 5% showed that there were significant differences from the average income of farmers before and after transitioning rice fields into lime farming, namely changes in income from Rp. 705 / year to Rp.26,520,258 / year so that the transition of paddy fields has a significant influence on farmer's income in Watabenua Village, Landono Subdistrict, South Konawe Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: the level of knowledge of farmers in long bean vegetable farming, long bean vegetable farming activities, and the level of knowledge of farmers associated with long bean vegetable farming activities in the village of Pombulaa Jaya, Konda Sub District, Konawe Selatan District. The sample in this study was determined by simple random sampling. This study uses interval scale analysis and Spearman rank correlation test. The results showed that: the level of knowledge of farmers in farming from long bean vegetable plants in the high category, long bean vegetable farming activities in the medium category, and the level of knowledge of farmers in farming long bean vegetable plants were significantly related to long bean vegetable farming activities in the village Pombulaa Jaya, Konda Sub District, Konawe Selatan District.

Abstract

Long-Range target this research is a technological introduction of seaweed with system pluck process and sell in the effort increase earnings of farmer group in Sub-District Of Bungkutoko District Of Abeli Town of Kendari Special Target this research is ( 1). Measuring improvement of productivity and earnings of conducting result and handling of seaweed after by using net keramba float, ( 2). To know earnings of society before and after the existence of technological introduction in the form of processing of seaweed result become multifariously of product, In The Year I technological Introduction to be applied at conducting is making of seaweed construction method of long line by using system of keramba net float functioning to arrest;detain to fall or loss of seaweed go out to sea effect of wave or come down with. With this technology is expected can increase product and productivity. Analysis the used is Analysis Earnings, that is Budget of Partial(Partial Budget Analysis). Research location in Sub-District Of Bungkutoko District Of Abeli Town of Kendari.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know: (1) income obtained from seaweed business in Bungin Permai Village, Tinanggea Subdistrict, South Konawe Regency (2) seaweed farming in Bungin Permai Village, Tinanggea Sub-District, South Konawe Regency. This research uses qualitative and quantitative methods. The population of this study is 233 seaweed farmers. The sample determination uses simple random sampling technique. The number of samples in this study were 37 respondents, thesample size was determined by referring to the Slovin formula. The results of this study indicate (1) The average income of farmers respondents on seaweed farming in one production process that is Rp11.412.683 (2) With R / C of 7.353 means seaweed farming profitable and feasible to be developed and the use of production costs efficient.

Abstract

Empowering farmers palm sugar is a series of systematic efforts, consistent and to achieve common goals more efficiently continuing to improve the adaptability and innovation of farmers on optimum utilization of technology within the existing institutional rules. This research aims: (1) to examines the resources potential of palm sugar farmers in agribusiness, (2) to examines the application of palm sugar technology, (3) to analyzed the institutional rules of palm sugar agribusiness. This research was conducted in the South Konawe Regency from June to November 2012. Data were collected through interviews, in-depth interview, Focus Group Discussion and observations at the location of the processing of palm sugar. Human resource potential, technology implementation, and processing of palm sugar, and institutional rules of palm sugar agribusiness analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The result of research showed: (1) human resources of palm sugar agribusiness at South Konawe Regency not reached the standard of sustainable business, (2) The technology to produce palm sugar is not right that the income is not optimal, and (3) institutional support palm sugar processing business has not been strong and permanent in an effort to empower entrepreneurs. So that the necessary human resource development, testing technologies, consumer preferences and business partnerships palm sugar.
