Abstract

This study aims to find out the issues or problems that become the direction and trends of mathematics education research as an effort made by teachers in responding to challenges in 21st-century learning. The writing in this study uses a literature study by utilizing scientific journals published by the Creative Mathematics Journal- Innovative (KREANO) from 2016 to 2021 by involving a total of 156 scientific journal items. The theme of last year's study was dominated by the process of mathematical thinking skills with a focus on secondary education students as research subjects. Currently, the research theme of mathematics education is studying with a focus on developing media or making a product and learning device as well as designing a project-based learning model with a subject focus on prospective teachers and students of secondary education as research subjects. Future research in mathematics education will also examine mathematical thinking skills by creating technology-assisted learning in an open, flexible project-based learning environment so that students can collaborate in developing their potential. Therefore, teachers are required to be able to implement a curriculum to innovate in learning with various approaches, models, strategies, methods, assessments, and all related matters, which are effective

Abstract

Mathematics learning is not optimal because of limited learning media. Most teachers only rely on manual materials and exercises that are too strict. The purpose of this research is to create an audiovisual learning media based on the Canva application for class XII learning. This type of research is media development based on the four-D development model. Due to the limitations of researchers, the development of this media has only reached the development stage. The subjects of this study were 2 media experts, 2 material experts, 2 practitioners and 25 students. Data collection methods in this study are observation methods, interview methods, and questionnaire methods. The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively using the average formula to obtain an average efficacy score. As a result, the audiovisual media based on the Canva application on the topic "Distance point to point" achieved a relevance score of 4.53 for content experts and 4.65 for media experts

Abstract

One important component in the education system to measure the success and performance of the learning process is assessment activities. The importance of assessment in the learning process can be used as a benchmark for improving the quality of teaching. The purpose of this study was to develop a mathematics learning assessment tool to measure students' abilities in understanding mathematics. The type of development used is related to the model developed by Thiagaran. The study population consisted of five public schools in the city of Pasuruan. The sample of this research was class XII SMA/SMK YALC Pasuruan. The data collection technique used a descriptive test to complete fifteen math questions on three dimensional questions. Data analysis uses validity, reliability, strength, and difficulty. The results of this study indicate that the Essay Test instrument has 12 valid items (3 deleted/deactivated items). Based on the results of this study, we can conclude that the instrument designed to measure students' abilities in understanding mathematics meets valid criteria and can be used in learning

Abstract

This study aims to describe the problem-solving skills that students learn from emotional intelligence. This type of research is descriptive and qualitative. The instruments used are questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The questionnaire instrument was used to measure students' emotional intelligence. The test instrument was used to measure problem-solving skills, and interviews were conducted to learn more about problem-solving skills. The subjects of this study were 5 of 15 students from class VIII who were taken as a sample and then given an ability test and analysis based on Krulik and Rudnick's problem-solving steps. Subjects with high emotional intelligence can understand the context of the problem and represent the problem with pictures. Students can link between information, use appropriate strategies or steps, and relevant answers and conclusions. The subject with medium emotional intelligence is rewriting information on the problem using mathematical models and their language. Subjects can relate information, but not all students' answers are correct. Subjects with low emotional intelligence do not make representations or use clear problem-solving strategies. Subjects cannot relate information, so they do wrong calculations and only guess the answer.

Abstract

Student's difficulties in learning mathematics independently are due to the lack of media that supports the learning process and is practical in use and the lack of freedom to choose their preferred field. The aim is to develop teaching materials in the form of an e-module guided discovery learning model in the HOTS-based independent learning curriculum. The steps of the Guided Discovery Learning Model used in the e-module are the steps according to Polya, namely: (1) understanding the problem; (2) making plans; (3) implementing the plan; (4) looking back or checking again. This type of research is Research and Development (RND), using development steps according to Borg & Gall, which Sugiyono has transformed. The development steps are limited to seven degrees. Among them; are potential and problems, gathering information, product design, product validation, product improvement, product testing, and product revision. The final result is the percentage of design expert validation getting valid criteria. Moreover, the results of student responses obtained exciting measures. As well as the results of student responses obtaining interesting criteria so that e-modules are feasible to be developed for learning materials

Abstract

Students' attitudes towards learning mathematics: "too soft attitudes-very difficult-bored-in a good way" is an expression that is described because of a problem. Difficulties in understanding mathematical concepts have an impact on poor problem-solving abilities, so it is important to know what causes students to make mistakes and difficulties in learning mathematics. The goal to be achieved through this research is to find learning problems, their causes, and how to overcome them in learning mathematics. The research method of this research is a qualitative research based on a phenomenological approach. This study was conducted at his MTs Darul Hikmah Kedungwaru in Tulungagung. The main data sources are students and teachers of mathematics. Sources of supporting data are the Head of MTs Darul Hikmah Kedungwaru and class teachers. Data collection techniques through observation and interviews. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/validation. The results are as follows. (a) student problems: Lack of understanding of the material provided by the teacher, low student motivation to study, lazy to do homework regularly. (b) Educator's Problems: The teacher's inability to master the class, the teacher's inability to master the learning material. Efforts to overcome problems learning mathematics: (a) Efforts to Solve Student Problems: Strive to improve the learning environment Attempt to motivate students by providing suggestions to help them learn more actively Reward students with grades and praise for their learning Remind them to complete their homework (b) Efforts to solve educator problems, namely: Schools conduct assessments, summon teachers who are unable to attend class, and conduct teacher coaching and training, especially math teachers
