Abstract

Introduction: Child malnutrition still a major health problem in the world, including in Indonesia. According to World Health Organization (WHO) African Region and South-East Asia Region data, malnutrition affects nearly 20 million under five children and the main factors that affects about a third of child mortality worldwide. The aims of this study was to analyze and develop mother’s behavior model in severe malnutrition prevention for under five children based on Integration Health Belief Model and Health Promotion Model. Method: Type of this research was an explanatory observational with cross sectional design. Affordable population namely children under five’s years and cadres who visited Posyandu in April 2015 as many as 136 and 20 peoples. This study used proportional random sampling, with sample size 65 mothers; 10 children under five’s mothers and 10 Posyandu Balita’s cadres for FGD. Variables were personal factors, behavioral specific cognitions and affect, individual perceptions, commitment, cues to action and mothers behavior in severe malnutrition prevention. Data were collected by using questionnaires and food recall 24 hours, analyzed by Smart PLS. Result: Mother’s behavior model in severe malnutrition prevention for under five children can be formed by mothers commitment, behavioral specific cognition and affect and personal factors (income and motivation). Discussion: Nurse as a community health care providers have a role in improving community health status through health promotion. Abstract

Introduction: Leukemia is one of the conditions of chronic disease in children. Families of children with chronic health conditions often feel helpless in meeting their childs health care needs. Powerlessness experienced by the family will affect the ability of families in providing care to their children. Many factors can affect the empowerment of families in providing care to their families. Method: This study aims to analyze family factors that affect family empowerment in treating children with leukemia leukemia. The research design used is explanation survey. The population in this study were families with children suffering from leukemia in Pediatric Ward RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya. Result: The results showed that there was the influence of family factor to family empowerment in caring children with leukemia equal to t: 3.801. Discussion and Conclusions: Family factors need to be taken into account in family-centered empowerment, so families can improve their ability to care for leukemia children. Increased family-based health involves the strength and ability of families in coping mechanisms, the role of nurses, to encourage families to provide support in health care. More research is needed on family-centered empowerment models in the ability to care for children with leukemia. Factors that affect family empowerment in caring for child leukemia, can be considered nurse in giving nursing intervention especially child nurse in empowering parent at the time care of child leukemia. Abstract

Heart failure is a progressive health problem caused by the decrease in functional capacity. Heart failure patients will have difficulty to doing self-care activities independently. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between family support and self-care behavior of heart failure patients. This study used a cross-sectional design with a total sample of 85 respondents. The variables of this study were family support and self-care behavior obtained through a questionnaire that was declared valid and reliable. Statistical analysis in this study was Spearman Rank. The results of this study found that 36 (42.4%) respondents had sufficient family support and 35 (41.2%) respondents had poor self-care behavioral. Statistical test results showed a correlation coefficient was 0.626 with a significance of 0.000. The conclusion of this study there was a strong relationship between family support and self-care behavior of heart failure patients. The better family support will increase self-care behavior of heart failure patient. Nurses must actively involve the family during the treatment process when in the hospital or at home. Keywords: family support; self-care; heart failure ABSTRAK Gagal jantung merupakan masalah kesehatan yang bersifat progresif yang diakibatkan oleh penurunan kapasitas fungsional. Pasien gagal jantung akan mengalami kesulitan dalam melakukan aktivitas perawatan diri secara mandiri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan dukungan keluarga dengan perilaku perawatan diri pasien gagal jantung. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional dengan ukuran sampel sebanyak 85 responden. Variabel penelitian ini adalah dukungan keluarga dan perilaku perawatan diri yang didapatkan melalui kuesioner yang dinyatakan valid dan reliabel. Analisis statistik pada penelitian ini adalah Spearman Rank. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan sebanyak 36 (42,4%) responden memiliki dukungan keluarga yang cukup dan sebanyak 35 (41,2%) responden memiliki kemampuan perilaku perawatan diri yang buruk. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,626 dengan signifikansi 0,000. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan kuat antara dukungan keluarga dengan perilaku perawatan diri pasien gagal jantung. Semakin baik dukungan keluarga yang diberikan, perilaku perawatan diri juga akan semakin baik. Perawat harus melibatkan keluarga secara aktif selama proses perawatan ketika di rumah sakit maupun di rumah. Kata kunci: dukungan keluarga; perawatan diri; gagal jantung

Abstract

Parental care by grandparents has become a worldwide phenomenon along with the increasing number of working mothers. Co-residing grandparent influence children’s growth and development, so good co-parenting is needed to avoid the negative impacts. This study aims to describe parent-grandparent co-parenting relationship in grandparents who provide child care because left by working mothers. The research method was descriptive survey and using simple random sampling technique with sample of 105 grandparents who provide child care because left by working mothers. Characteristics of grandparents 74.3% aged less than 60 years, 90.5% children raised by grandmothers. The majority of grandparents 99% came from Javanese ethnic and 55.2% had an elementary-junior high school education. As many as 87.6% respondents have an income less than IDR1,700,000.00/month and 60% mothers of children work as private employees. The results indicated that grandparents showed a good parent-grandparent co-parenting relationship in the role of childcare, which was marked by 65.7% co-parenting agreement good respondents, 73.3% co-parenting closeness of respondents good, 73.3% exposure of child to conflict respondents are good, 78.1% co-parenting support/undermining respondents are good, 85.7% endorsement of partner's parenting respondents are good, and only 58.1% of respondents perceive the division of labor in the sufficient category. The role of grandparents as children’s primary caregivers when left by working mothers will not interfere with attachment between parent-child if a harmonious parent-grandparent co-parenting relationship is created. Keywords: co-parenting; grandparenting; working mother ABSTRAK Pengasuhan balita oleh kakek-nenek menjadi fenomena yang mendunia seiring dengan meningkatnya jumlah ibu yang bekerja. Pengasuhan kakek-nenek berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan perkembangan balita, sehingga diperlukan co-parenting yang baik agar tidak terjadi dampak negatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran parent-grandparent coparenting relationship pada kakek-nenek yang mengasuh balita karena ditinggal ibu bekerja. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan survei deskriptif dan teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu simple random sampling dengan jumlah sampel 105 kakek-nenek yang mengasuh balita karena ditinggal ibu bekerja. Karakteristik kakek-nenek yang mengasuh balita 74,3% berusia kurang dari 60 tahun, 90,5% balita diasuh oleh neneknya. Mayoritas kakek-nenek 99% berasal dari Suku Jawa dan 55,2% berpendidikan SD-SMP. Sebanyak 87,6% responden mempunyai penghasilan kurang dari Rp1.700.000,00/bulan dan 60% ibu balita berkeja sebagai karyawan swasta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa parent-grandparent co-parenting pada kakek-nenek yang mengasuh balita dalam kategori baik, yang ditandai dengan 65,7% co-parenting agreement responden baik, 73,3% co-parenting closeness responden baik, 73,3% exposure of child to conflict responden baik, 78,1% co-parenting support/undermining responden baik, 85,7% endorsement of partner’s parenting responden baik, dan hanya 58,1% responden yang mempersepsikan division of labor dalam kategori cukup. Peran kakek-nenek sebagai pengasuh utama balita ketika ditinggal ibu bekerja tidak akan mengganggu kelekatan antara orangtua-anak apabila tercipta parent-grandparent co-parenting relationship yang harmonis. Abstract

ABSTRAK Pendahuluan: Hospitalisasi pada anak dapat menimbulkan stress baik pada anak maupun orang tua. Kecemasan pada orang tua menimbulkan suatu mekanisme koping yang nantinya diperlukan dalam mengatasi suatu stress. Salah satu upaya untuk meminimalkan kecemasan dan koping orang tua tersebut dengan mengoptimalkan peran perawat dalam memberikan informasi dan dukungan kepada orang tua melalui penerapan caring. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Pre-experimental One Group Pret-Post test Design yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya penurunan kecemasan dan peningkatan koping orang tua pasien anak dengan adanya perilaku caring Swanson. Sampel yang digunakan 14 orang perawat dengan teknik total sampling dan 47 orang tua pasien dengan teknik purposive sampling. Variabel independent penelitian ini adalah perilaku caring perawat sedangkan variable dependentnya kecemasan dan koping orang tua pasien. Responden perawat mendapat perlakuan intervensi berupa sosialisasi dan bimbingan perilaku caring Swanson sedangkan responden orang tua mendapatkan intervensi perilaku caring Swanson oleh perawat ruangan di IRNA Nusa Indah Mardi Waluyo Blitar. Abstract

Introduction: A child who is diagnosed with Leukemia will undergo several procedures are long and painful action. During the process of hospitalization due to leukemia children and parents can experience a variety of events or actions handling according to various studies shown by the experience very traumatic and stressful (Supartini 2004 in Arif, SY, 2007). Some of the methods used to deal with anxiety is psikoprofilaksis, relaxation and imagination (Reeder et al., 2011). Rational-emotive behavior therapy by Albert Ellis in 1990 describes a unique man who is basically have a tendency to think rational and irrational.Methods: aim of this study is to explain the effect of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) for stress levels of mothers with children suffering from Leukemia. The study design used was a pre-experiment Quasy-post control group design. The sample was 10 mothers of children diagnosed with leukemia are treated in a child hematology ward Soetomo hospital. Variable in this study is the level of depression and anxiety mothers with children suffering from leukemia.Result: Based on the results obtained Wilcoxon statistical test p = 0.025 in the treatment group and p = 0.32 in the control group. Mann Whitney test results obtained p = 0.012.Conclution: Rational-emotive behavior therapy can reduce levels of depression and anxiety (stress) mothers with children suffering from leukemia. It is expected that the application of rational -emotive behavior therapy can be done to reduce depression and anxiety in women with chronic disease cases while maintaining the effectiveness the goal of REBT.

Abstract

Introduction: Personal hygiene is an action to maintain a hygiene and body health. This condition must be caring by everyone, because various of desease can happen in lack consequence of hygiene. This study was aimed to investigate the effect of health education with contemporary book story on preschool personal hygiene behaviour (knowledge, attitude, action) at RA Perwanida, Mojokerto.Methods: Design use in this study was Quasy Experimental design. The population had taken from RA Perwanida, Mojokerto, in July 2009, whom deal directly with the preschool parents. Total sample was 22 respondents who met B class in RA Perwanida, Mojokerto. They were divided into 2 groups, treatment and control groups. Data were collected by using questionnaire and observation sheet. Data were analyzed by using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with significance level of α ≤ 0.05 and Mann Whitney U Test with signi fi cance level ofα ≤ 0.05.Result: Results revealed the presence of effect in treatment and control groups. In treatment group the level of dependence due to preschool knowledge had signi fi cance level of p = 0.002, while that in control group was p = 1.000, to preschool attitude p = 0.034 in treatment, and p = 0.014 in control group, to preschool action p=0.001, and p = 0.317 in control group.Conclusion: It can be concluded that there are significant influence of health education with contemporary book story on preschool personal hygiene behaviour. Further study should measure qualitation of understanding about personal hygiene behaviour for teacher in RA Perwanida, Mojokerto.

Abstract

Introduction: Toddler may have poor appetite and picky eater stage. It will influence the children food intake and thereby they loss weight. As a result they may get a growth and developmental disorder. Curcuma honey can increase appetite and influence body weight. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of giving curcuma honey in increasing body weight in toddler.Methods: Quasy experimental design was used in this study. Sample was 10 toddlers and divided into two groups. Independent variable was the giving of curcuma honey and dependent variable was the increase of body weight in toddler (1–3 years). Data were collected by appetite and bodyweight observation and analyzed using paired t-test and independent t-test with significance level ofα ≤ 0.05.Results: Result showed that the giving of curcuma honey had a significant effect to increase toddler’s body weight (p = 0.001).Conclusion: It can be concluded that curcuma honey could increase body weight of toddler by increasing the toddler’s appetite. Honey contains high level of glucose and fructose that can help digestion proccess and curcuma contains curcuminoid and asiri oil that help the work of the bile and pancreas, that made the increasing in apetite and fi nally the increasing in body weight.
