Abstract

Background: Broken bones can cause soft tissue edema, bleeding in the muscles and joints, tendon rupture, damage to nerve tissue and damage to the vasculer and surgery are ways that are carried out to restore the movement function of extremitas and the impact that occurs due to these actions is pain. Acute pain is still found in postoperative non-pathological fracture patients who have received analgesic ketorolac.Subjects and Method: This was a quasy experiment study conducted at Dr. Soetomo Hospital, Surabaya, East Java. A sample of 46 patients post orthopedic surgery was selected for study by purposive sampling. The dependent variable was pain. The independent variables were range of motion and deep breathing exercises. Pain was measured by visual analog scale (VAS). The data were analyzed by t-test.Results: After treatment, pain level in the intervention group (mean = 2.43; SD = 1.41) was lower than the control group (mean= 3.48; SD= 1.38) with p= 0.014.Discussion: Combination of range of motion and deep breathing relaxation therapy effective to reduce pain among post orthopedic surgery patients.Correspondence: Hery Sasongko. Abstract

Career selection is one of the most important decisions an individual makes in his life. High career expectation could result in career decision difficulties. This study aimed to compare and analyze the career decision difficulties between nursing freshmen and interns. This cross-sectional study involved 110 and 66 nursing freshmen and interns respectively (n=176) in two private nursing colleges. Career decision difficulties questionnaire was used in data collection. Descriptive statistic and independent sample t test were used in data analysis (α<.05). Results showed that most respondents experienced moderate difficulties in both groups. Overall, there was no significant difference of career decision difficulty found between groups (p=.057), but indecisiveness, dysfunctional myths, lack of knowledge about the process of career decision making, lack of information, lack of information about occupations, lack of information about ways of obtaining additional information, and internal conflicts were significantly different between groups (all p<α). Career decision difficulties occur similarly both in nursing freshmen and interns.

Methods of data collection was cluster sampling. The data was analysed using smartPLS software.. Inner model: personal factors (t=1.981), interpersonal influences (t=4.036), situational influences (5.720),  commitment (t=5.138) had affected to community nurses duty in promotive and preventive care. This model could predict community nurses duty in promotive and preventive care in high level (Q=0.998). That was important to enhance of community nurses duty through modifying commitment of nurses, interpersonal influence factors, personal factors  and situational influence factors.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases are a growing worldwide epidemic that disproportionately affects low- and middle-income countries. This systematic review is intended to estimate the aggregated prevalence of diabetes mellitus among tuberculosis patients in Indonesia. Found 8 studies that deserve to be reviewed. The total number of tuberculosis patients with diabetes mellitus was 448 patients. The highest incidence of tuberculosis is in Jember Regency. The high incidence of diabetes mellitus in tuberculosis patients indicates the need for early detection, so that primary prevention methods can be started early and effectively. Abstract

Background: Hypertension is associated with an increase in systolic pressure or diastolic pressure or the pressure of both. Hypertension is defined as persistently high blood pressure where the systolic pressure above 140 mmHg and diastolic pressure above 90 mmHg. One of the non-pharmacological treatments for hypertension is with Benson relaxation therapy. The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of Benson relaxation therapy on blood pressure in patients with hypertension in Unggahan Village. Method: The research design was a pra-experimental design with one group pre-post test design. The research sample consisted of 30 people. The sampling technique used non-probability sampling with techniques purposive sampling and data from respondents was collected by using a digital tensimeter measuring instrument. This study used a Paired t-test examination significant standard α=0.05. Result: The result of the study shows that before was given a Benson relaxation therapy that was Mean systolic blood pressure is 149.93, and the Mean diastolic blood pressure is 89.33. Then, after giving a Benson relaxation therapy that was Mean systolic blood pressure is 138.97 and the Mean diastolic blood pressure is 84.07. The results of the examination Paired t-test, obtained the score p pre and post (0,000) < α (0,05), which means that H0 is ferected and Ha accepted. Conclusion: Thus, it can be concluded that there is an effect of Benson relaxation therapy on blood pressure in patients with hypertension in Unggahan Village.

Abstract

Introduction: Tuberculosis is one cause of infectious death worldwide. In relation to the healing of pulmonary tuberculosis in Indonesia, there are still certain areas where the cure rate is still low. This study aims to identify the effect of spiritual emotional breathing (SEB) on the quality of respiratory function and the modulation of immune response in tuberculosis patients. Methods: The study used a quasi-experimental design with two groups of pre-post-test design. The population was 34 patients with tuberculosis in East Perak’s primary health care. The independent variable was SEB (spiritual emotional breathing). The dependent variables were peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR), pulse, oxygen saturation, breath frequency, breath sound, stiffness complaints, human IL-2, human cortisol, IgG.Results: The results showed that there was a significant difference in PEFR, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, respiratory sound, stiffness, human IL-2, human cortisol, IgG.Conclusion: SEB can improve the quality of respiratory function and the modulation of immune response in tuberculosis patients. The emotional spiritual approach is part of the science of energy psychology that aims to turn the negative energy in a person into positive energy that can help the healing process. This therapy is performed as a complementary therapy for TB patients to improve their quality of life and the control of symptoms

The research was conducted in all community health centers in the Buleleng, Bali. Data on subjective norms, attitudes, perceived behavior control, intention, physical and mental HRQoL domains and medical adherence were collected. Data were analyzed using a descriptive and structural equation model feature using structural equation model. Results: Most respondents have attitudes in the positive category and subjective norms in the good category. Perceived behavior is control in the good category, intentions in the good category and physical health in the good category. Almost all respondents have mental health in the good category and are married. All respondents in this study had adherence to treatment. The influence of subjective norms on intentions (p = <0.01), the influence of intentions on adherence (p = <0.01) and the effect of adherence on quality of life (p = <0.01) were found. Conclusion:Subjective norms are the most important part to influence intention. Adequate TB treatment causes HRQoL to improve.
