Abstract

Background: Perevalensi patients with diabetic ulcers in Indonesia amounted to 15% of patients with diabetes mellitus. Most of the treatment of diabetes mellitus is always associated with diabetic ulcers. In an effort to control blood sugar levels are appropriate, patients with diabetes also need to have knowledge about the disease. Knowledge of patients with diabetes mellitus, can be seen in the attitudes and skills such as in efforts to control / control of blood sugar levelsObjective: this study to determine the relationship of knowledge regarding the control of blood sugar levels with the incidence of diabetic ulcers in patients with diabetes mellitusMethod: This study is an observational analytic cross-sectional study design. The population in this study were all patients who suffer from Diabetes Mellitus Diabetic ulcers in hospitals RAA Soewondo Starch, while the samples used were 50 respondents. Analysis used to determine the relationship of knowledge regarding the control of blood sugar levels with the incidence of diabetic ulcers using the chi-square testResulth: Most of the patients knowledge level of control of blood sugar levels are categorized as less as many as 31 (62%). Diabetic ulcer incidence of 50 patients suffering from diabetes mellitus as much (38%). There is a significant relationship between knowledge about blood sugar control with the incidence of diabetic ulcers with p <0.005 and the value of RR 2:22.Conclution: Less knowledge about blood sugar control in people with diabetes are at risk 2:22 times greater incidence of diabetic ulcersKeywords: Knowledge Blood Sugar Control, Diabetic Ulcers
