Abstract

Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) peternak sapi perah merupakan individu yang bekerja sebagai penggerak usaha ternak sapi perah untuk mempunyai kemampuan dalam menghasilkan susu sebanyak mungkin. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kecamatan Pujon Kabupaten Malang pada bulan Juni – Agustus 2018 dengan tujuan: 1) merumuskan indikator performa kelembagaan, aspek risiko, dan pengembangan usaha yang mendukung SDM peternak sapi perah, dan 2) menemukan model SDM yang dipengaruhi oleh performa kelembagaan, aspek risiko, dan pengembangan usaha ternak sapi perah. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 105 peternak sapi perah. Variabel penelitian terdiri dari: performa kelembagaan (X1), aspek risiko (X2), pengembangan usaha (X3), dan sumber daya manusia (Y1). Data dianalisis menggunakan Structural Equation Model (SEM) dengan menggunakan aplikasi SmartPLS 2.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) terdapat indikator dari performa kelembagaan, aspek risiko, dan pengembangan usaha yang mendukung SDM peternak sapi perah; dan 2) SDM peternak sapi perah dipengaruhi oleh performa kelembagaan, aspek risiko, dan pengembangan usaha sebesar 16,4%. SDM peternak sapi perah dipengaruhi oleh: performa kelembagaan sebesar 0,213, aspek risiko sebesar 0,108, dan pengembangan usaha sebesar -0.215.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to identified the internal resources of dairy cattle farming business and assess their effects on institutional performance of the business risk aspects. The research was conducted at the Kawasan Pengembangan Sapi Perah Nasional (KPSPN), Malang District, East Java Province. Respondents of this reserach were all of the dairy cattle farmers who were members of the KUB (Kelompok Usaha Bersama) of the Tirtasari Kresna Gemilang. Generally, the respondent of this study was 174 person. Data were analyzed using the method of PLS (Partial Least Square). The results showed that internal resources had an effect on institutional performance by 23,4%, while business risk aspects were influenced by internal resources and institutional performance by 54,7%. Conclusion of the study was the internal resources of dairy cattle farming business consist of financial resources, technological resources and physical resources.

Abstract

Resources have an important role in livestock farming business, while the aspect of vulnerability can hamper the development of livestock farming business. The purpose of this study is to identify the resources of dairy cattle farming business and examine its effects on the aspects of vulnerability. The resources of this study consisted of economic resources, environmental resources, and social resources. The research was conducted in June-September 2019 at the Joint Business Group (KUB) of Tirtasari Kresna Gemilang which is located in Malang District, East Java Province. The 174 respondents are all dairy farmers who are the members of the group. The data collection methods used are Focus on Group Discussion (FGD), observation, and survey. The survey method was carried out through interviews and questionnaires. Data were analyzed using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method. The results showed that the vulnerability aspect of dairy cattle farming business was positively and significantly affected by economic and environmental resources (0,249 and 0,317, respectively). On the other hand, social resources had a negative influence, although it was not significant to the vulnerability aspect of dairy cattle farming business. The conclusion of the research shows that the aspect of the vulnerability of dairy cattle farming business is influenced by economic, environmental, and social resources by 29.5%.

Abstract

Farmers institution is an organization that allows farmers to carry out farm agribusiness activities, from upstream (input) to downstream (processing and marketing), and connect with stakeholders. This study aims to investigate the institutional performance of dairy farmers and analyze its impact on resources. The research was conducted on May to September 2019 in Pujon sub-district, Malang district, East Java. The respondents were the 174 farmers registered as the member of Tirtasari Kresna Gemilang Joint Business Group (KUB). The data collection utilized Focus Group Discussion (FGD), observation, and survey. The survey was held through interviews and questionnaires with +1 to +5 Likert scale. The variables of this study were institutional performance (X), economic resources (Y), environmental resources (Y2), and social resources (Y3). The data was analyzed using the PLS (Partial Least Square) method. The result of the study shows that institutional performance affects economic, environmental, and social resources 31.3%, 21.9%, and 45.6%, respectively. This study concluded that the institutional performance of dairy farmers positively and significantly influences the economic and social resources, but insignificantly influences environmental resources.
