Abstract

This research aims to examine the proportion of physical activities and cognitive activities in the physics learning that using NHT as a learning model. The research is descriptive qualitative. There are three samples used in this research. Two of them are lesson plans. The other one is a video of physics learning that applicate NHT model. The result shows that in sample 1 which is RPP 1 shows that proportion of physical activities and cognitive activities is 6.6% and 93.4% respectively, then in sample 2 which is RPP 2 shows that physical activities and cognitive activities proportion is 5.5% and 94.5% respectively, and the third sample which is the video shows that physical activities and cognitive activities proportion is 13.3% and 86.7% respectively. Based on the considerable study of percentage that done in the RPP and the learning video shows that cognitive activities are more dominant than physical activities, this result is already accord with purpose of physics learning according to taxonomy bloom but this result also not accord with the basic idea of cooperative learning which is constructivism because in three sample student are not push to get the knowledge by their work. Based on that research finding it is suggested that in the learning activity that using NHT teacher use a drive questions so the cognitive activity in the learning can be accord with the target of basic idea from the NHT which is constructivism

Abstract

Research has been conducted to find out relation position and speed to time, for objects that glide on a magnetic foundation by applying the Research and Development method. Data retrieval is done by using video train motion recordings which are analyzed using Logger Pro. The results of the analysis are represented in the form of data and graphics. Based on the data analysis and fitting using the Logger Pro, the following values are obtained: vtrain 0.027 m/s, atrain 0.034 m/s2, average train velocity 0.02572 m/s and average train acceleration 0.03662 m/s2 with RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) value of 0.013 m. The acceleration value obtained is very small and almost close to zero, so it can be said that objects that experience irregular straight motion. The graph representation of velocity over time shows an increase in speed that is not constant. This is because there is still friction between the train and the runway and friction between magnets along the track with friction forces 4,566 N. The value of kinetic energy, potential energy, and mechanical energy can be determined by using the results of Logger Pro analysis.

Abstract

This research aims to produce ardgotic learning media that can improve student learning outcomes on logarithm.  This research consists of 5 development steps, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Ardgotic is a game developed from an othello type board game that requires players to win the games where logarithm is the topic. The results of this media validation reached 94.54%. Trials on 32 students of class X SMK showed a practically rate of 85.71%, both of which were in the very good category. The use of ardgotic media can improve learning outcomes logarithm by 0.697 or a moderate increase. Students find the appearance of the media attractives and the media can motivate them to learn logarithms. These results indicate that ardgotic media can be used to learn mathematics in different ways.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the results of the study of the implementation of Problem Based Learning model that has been done on previous research on the syntax, teacher behavior and the content of problems in Teaching and Learning Activities (KBM), especially in the field of Physics study, in terms of the Lesson Plans Program (RPP) and Student Worksheets (LKS) that have been made to the main literature. This research is a qualitative research with the descriptive approach on 7 samples RPP and 7 LKS. The results showed that the content of the problems did not match the PBL and the teacher behaviour on some samples in stage I (Organizing Students to Problem) and stage III (Assisting Self-Inquiry and Group) did not match the PBL syntax. The conclusion of this research is from the analysis of PBL model implementation that has been done in previous studies on the syntax, teacher behavior and the content of the problems in 7 samples of RPP and LKS shows that the teacher behavior that exist in the RPP there are some that are not in accordance with PBL syntax and the contents of the problems given to the students either written on the RPP or LKS mostly not actual because some of it is a matter of memorization that does not require creative thinking, mathematical calculations and problems looking for relationships between variables through experiments. Suggestion from this research that is in use of PBL model for making RPP and LKS in KBM need to refer five stages in PBL and problem has given to the student in PBL learning model should problem actual and require creative thinking and written clearly and completely in RPP and LKS.

Abstract

TSTS (Two Stay Two Stray) is one of the learning models often used by educators to make students were doing active learning activities. Still, the educators usually did not pay attention to the lack of that learning model. Some cases found that learning objectives that should have been stressed on the cognitive activities were not achieved because the physical activities are more dominant than cognitive activities during the learning process. This study aimed to investigate whether lesson plans and video of TSTS cooperative learning more emphasized cognitive or physical activities by examining the compatibility between investigated cognitive and physical activities toward the learning objectives of science. There is qualitative research that is analyzed descriptively using the lesson plan sample and video of physics learning applying TSTS. The data analysis of this study was performed by examining a table that contains the possibility of the students’ activities for the lesson plan and students’ activities. That was observed using video during the learning process than were grouped in the physical or cognitive activities based on the operational verb of Bloom Taxonomy. The result of the study is both the lesson plan and video show that cognitive operations are more dominant than physical activities. It means that those activities are following the purpose of science learning. The average of cognitive activities is 77,4%, and physical activities are 22,6%. The educators are suggested to attend the proportion of physical and cognitive activities so that the purpose of science learning can be achieved optimally.

Abstract

Abstract – Laboratory demonstration tools is learning medium that teachers use as an alternative to improve students’ understanding. Founded that students understand the concept that is taught but some students still have difficulty in solving the problem. This study aims to describe the profile of students' thinking processes presented through laboratory equipment by analyzing student behavior as learning takes place based on information processing theory. This research is a naturalistic qualitative research in which the research takes place naturally and not conditioned. Subjects in this study were 2 students of SMKN in Salatiga with high and low academic category. The result of the students' thinking process descriptions show that subjects with high academic categories are able to process the stimuli in selective attention more fully from subjects with low academic categories, the two subjects perform a perception process against the stimulus correctly, the rehearsal process performed by subjects with high academic categories stimuli more frequently than subjects with low academic categories, subjects with high academic category are able to perform the encoding process well while the subject with low academic category were not, and subjects with high academic category can perform the process of retrieval smoothly while subjects with academic low category have difficulty difficulties. The lack ability to process information can decrease the ability to solve problems. The suggestion for educators is that they must provide a complete record of learning outcomes and provide conceptual application for learning objectives to be achieved.
