Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to know the attack and damage of clove stem borer Hexamitodera semivelutina at some elevation in Rerer village of Kombi sub-district of Minahasa Regencyfor 2 months (February - April 2017). The research was conducted by survey  on farmers’ clove plantation area. The research was using a stratified random sampling method with observing the incidence and severity of H. semivelutina pest of clove plant. Treadment using 3 stratum height of place from sea level  that is 0 - <300 meters from sea level (mfsl), 300 - <600 (mfsl), and >600 (mfsl). The result of this research are the symptom of attack and damage of clove plant caused by H. Semivelutina pest as follows : incidence rate and severity according to altitude of place 0 - <300 mfsl are 24.67% and 12.55%, while at height 300 - <600 mfsl are 42.34% and 22.88 %, and at altitude> 600 mfsl are 61.67% and 33.66%.Keywords : incidence of pest, severity of pest, Hexamitodera semivelutina

Abstract

ABSTRACT Helicoverpa armigera is one of the important pests in maize in Gorontalo province. The study aims to determine the population of corn cob borer Helicoverpa armigera has been implemented in Bolango Bone regency, Gorontalo Province from March to June 2011 study used a survey method based on the four zoning districts as follows: (1) the northern region districts Tilong Kabila, (2 ) Suwawa Western region districts namely, (3) the Eastern region districts Kabila, and (4) the South region, namely districts Bone Pante. The results showed that the average population of H. armigera cob borers on maize in Bone regency Bolango highest in the district is 3.75 Kabila Bone tail, then the tail 1.92 Tilongkabila districts, sub-districts and districts tail Kabila 1.83 Suwawa 1,4 tail. Abstract

ABSTRACT   The research was arranged in a randomized block design (RBD), with 10 treatments and 3 replications. To get the active insects pests, net sweepings were done for the flying insects, while other pests were observed directly on the plants. Collecting data of plant damages were made by systematic diagonal lines, except for viruses, census was conducted on each experimental plot.  The results of this experiment documented 12 species of insect pests attacking soybean plants. Soybean pest populations were relatively low, except for Aphis glycine that was quite high. In all treatments, plant damage caused by sucking pest Piezodorus sp and Riptortus linearis were relatively low of 1.53 % to 1.94 %; it indicated an insignificant effect to decline the production. Crop damages by virus showed a significant effect. The lowest virus attacks found on compost of 5 tons per ha with 43 plants infected per treatment, the highest virus attack showed on combination of 5 tons compost per ha + inorganic fertilizer + mulch, in which there were 274 infected plants per treatment. Apparently virus attacks gave impact on soybean production. The highest production were documented on treatment of 5 tons compost per ha with production of 0.55 tons per ha, while the lowest production was found on combination of 5 tons compost per ha + inorganic fertilizer + mulch, in which the production was 0.22 tons per ha. Abstract

abstract This study aims to understand the interaction of varieties and watering the papaya mealybug in Bangkok and local plants. Research using Completaly Randomized design (CRD) with treatments that Papaya of varieties Bangkok, Lokal, and Watering. Parameters measured were population nymph, imago, and the attack rate of the mealybug P. marginatus on the part of the plant consists of a trunk, the upper leaves, leaves the middle, and bottom leaves. The results showed that the population of nymphs on papaya local watering every day at the upper leaves of the plant has the highest population as much as 71.85 individuals per leaf and the lowest found in papaya Bangkok on watering every three days on the underside of leaves of plants of 1.85 individuals per leaf. Imago population at the local papaya with a watering every day at the middle leaf has the highest population of 27.85 individuals per leaf and the lowest found in papaya Bangkok with a watering every three days at the bottom of the leaf has a population of 1.71 individuals per leaf. The percentage of mealybug attacks were highest in local varieties of papaya with every day watering time (90.89%), followed by papaya local time watering every two days (70.35%), papaya Bangkok time watering every day (67.92%), local papaya time watering every three days (57.32%), papaya Bangkok time watering every two days (42.72%), and papaya Bangkok time watering every 3 days (40.04%). Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the mortality percentage of adult Sitophilus oryzae on three types of rice. The Completely Randomized Design experiment consisted of 3 treatments and 6 replication. Three types of rice, i.e. Suluttan Unsrat 2, white glutinous, and brown rice were used in this experiment.
