Abstract

The research aims to understand: how small and medium enterprises (SMEs) develop geo-product to promote geo-tourism and identify the supporting also inhibitory factors. The method used exploratory survey method, quantitative and qualitative method also where data is obtained through survey questionnaire, interview and FGD to SMEs and stakeholder. The research findings: geo-products are interpretations of attractions (geodiversity, culture-diversity and biodiversity) in geo-tourism activities, the supporting factor in geo-product development are loan procedure, leadership and marketing skills. The inhibitory factors are: employees’ lack of skill, limited market access, and financial reporting skill. The stakeholders played a role in supporting geo-product development, such as providing training program and implement geo-tourism events to showcase geo-product. Private companies support SMEs through by enhancing product quality and civil society organization has contribution in capacity building. The research contributes to the knowledge development on geo-product, and its role in promotion of geo-tourism activities in the UNESCO Global Geo-park Belitong.

Abstract

The development of tourism sector is closely related to the improvement of hotel and restaurant industry. Its contributions to PDRB, employment, and the increasing business entity show that the economic activity in this sector remains high and becomes superior in Bandung city. Nevertheless, the problem existed is related with the mismatch between the competence owned by the human resource and the industry requirement. The aim of the study are (1) developing strategy to improve the human resource competence in hotel and restaurant sector based on gap analysis between the required human resource competence profile and provided human resource competence profile.(2) Mapping and analyzing the role of 'triple helix' system (industry, government, and academician) in constructing human resource competence development model. The result of the study in front office, housekeeping, waiter, and cook show that the competence owned have not fulfilled the SKKNI standard in Hotel and Restaurant. Strategies proposed by this study are: (1) Improving training institution capacity. (2) Developing human resource competence through training and (3) Developing human resource through certification and standardization. Developing human resource competence is determined by three factors: industry, government policy, and education institution. Abstract

Human resources are the main production factors in implementing organizational innovation, so organizations need to encourage employees to have innovative behavior at work. Innovative behavior is not something that is genetically inherited, but something that can be learned and applied to employees in the organization. This research explores the influence of transformational leadership and knowledge sharing on innovative behavior. The research method used is a quantitative method. The population in this study were lecturers at 3 universities in the city of Cirebon. The number of samples in this study were 86 respondents. Data collection using a questionnaire instrument. Analysis of research data using multiple regression. The results showed that transformational leadership and knowledge sharing have a positive and significant influence on innovative behavior. In this study the knowledge sharing variable has a more dominant contribution compared to the transformational leadership variable to manage employee innovative behavior.

Abstract

Perkembangan sektor pariwisata tidak terlepas dari kemajuan industri hotel dan restoran. Kontribusi sektor terhadap PDRB, penyerapan tenaga kerja, dan adanya peningkatan jumlah entitas usaha menunjukkan bahwa aktifitas ekonomi sektor ini tetap tinggi dan menjadi andalan Kota Bandung. Namun demikian permasalahan yang terjadi terkait dengan SDM adalah rendahnya tingkat penyerapan tenaga kerja disebabkan adanya ketidaksesuaian antara kompetensi yang dimiliki dengan kebutuhan industri. Tujuan dari kajian ini adalah : Menyusun strategi peningkatan kompetensi SDM pada sektor hotel dan restoran yang berbasis pada analisis kesenjangan antara profil kompetensi SDM yang dibutuhkan dengan profil kompetensi SDM yang ada saat ini. Melakukan pemetaan dan analisis peran sistem ‘triple helix’ (industri, pemerintah dan akademisi) dalam menyusun model peningkatan kompetensi SDM Hasil penelitian terhadap karyawan front office, tatagraha, pramusaji, dan cook/koki menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi yang dimiliki belum memenuhi standar yang ditetapkan SKKNI untuk bidang hotel dan restoran. Strategi Peningkatan Kompetensi SDM yang diajukan terdiri dari : (1). Peningkatan kapasitas lembaga diklat (2). Peningkatan kompetensi SDM melalui pelatihan, dan (3) Peningkatan kompetensi SDM melalui program sertifikasi dan standarisasi Peningkatan kompetensi SDM ditentukan oleh tiga faktor, yaitu : industri, kebijakan pemerintah, dan institusi pendidikan. Pemetaan dan analisis peran sistem ‘triple helix’ (industri, pemerintah dan akademisi) akan menghasilkan Model Peningkatan Kompetensi SDM Sektor Hotel dan Restoran. Abstract

This research is motivated by problems related to the decline in the performance of employees of PT. Urbane Indonesia in 2016- 2017. With the declining performance of employees at PT. Urbane Indonesia, if left unchecked, will have a negative impact on the company. Of the many factors that affect employee performance, what attracts researchers is organizational culture. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of organizational culture on employee performance at PT. Urbane Indonesia, to know the description of Organizational Culture at PT. Urbane Indonesia and to determine the level of employee performance at PT. Urbane Indonesia. This study uses descriptive and verification methods with a population of 67 employees and a sample of 67 employees. The analysis technique used is simple linear regression analysis. Hypothesis testing using t-test. The results of this study can be seen that the organizational culture together has a positive and significant effect on employee performance.

Abstract

The role of rural tourism development can help promote and help the local community of Sebunyuk Village. The purpose of this activity is to identify the needs and problems in developing Sebunyuk as a Tourism Village. The activity partner is the tourism community in Nam Pit Salu, Sebunyuk Village. The main problem is the mindset of people who still have a mindset as farm laborers or miners and do not see tourism as a field that benefits rural communities in the future. Partner problems are overcome through capacity building and assistance in implementing organization management, especially in management and marketing creative tourism products.

Abstract

Millennial workers are known to easily change jobs, tend to be free of expression, and want fast progress in careers and competencies, they dominate with a proportion of 56.1% of the total workforce. This study aims to reveal recommendations for retention strategies for millennial workers from recent studies. The method used is a systematic literature review of journal articles published in reputable international journals from the Emerald and SAGE Journals databases. The search results identified 9 journal articles relevant to the research objectives. The results of the study show that a competitive climate that values achievement, openness to express opinions, open opportunities to pursue careers and competencies, quality mentors, and appreciation for expression creates a culture in relevant corridors are a series of strategies that are seen as able to accommodate millennial workers to develop, last longer, and improve the competitiveness of company.

Abstract

Teachers have an important role for the education of the Indonesian nation.They must teach during the pandemic corona virus.They have many duties to do. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the quality of teachers in order to achieve the ideals of the Indonesian nation in the intellectual life of the nation. In order for teachers to get maximum work results, it is necessary to achieve job satisfaction that can be felt by teachers in carrying out their activities. In this study using quantitative descriptive methods, namely through questionnaires and interviews were analyzed using PLS which was conducted on 119 teachers in Jakarta. The results of this study found that work stress has an effect on job satisfaction, work life balance has an effect on job satisfaction and work life balance has a relationship with work stress.

Abstract

The literature that discusses HR management practices in the hospitality and tourism industry is still relatively limited, even though there are many issues related to human resources in the hospitality and tourism sectors. This paper aims to examine the literature related to employee engagement practices in the hospitality and tourism sectors and their impact on other constructs. To obtain literature data, the publish or perish software was used and the Google Scholar database was selected. The keyword used is "work engagement hospitality tourism". In the initial search, 200 literatures were obtained from 2016 to 2021. Then the 200 literatures were selected so that 75 references were obtained. Using the Mendeley reference manager and Publish or Perish software, data on the most cited articles, top-tier journals, and top publishers were collected. Furthermore, the 75 references were processed using the VOS Viewer so that cluster data was obtained which consisted of the items that appear in each cluster. Overlay visualization, density visualization, and author network associated with keywords were also illustrated. This study provides an overview for further research related to employee work involvement, especially in the tourism hospitality industry.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, SMEs located in tourism destinations in the form of small islands in Indonesia experienced many problems, including: decreased sales turnover due to reduced number of tourists coming to visit the island, difficulty in raw materials, rising raw material prices and SMEs not understanding how to do digital marketing effectively. Digital skills for SMEs are very important in building a competitive advantage and expanding the market not only in their area. Therefore, a community empower program was initiated to help the SMEs survive through covid19 pandemic, by increasing their capacity on Digital Marketing.The objectives of this program are:(1) to develop community empowerment through Digital Marketing program (2) to increase   community skills in digital marketing. Eight months of educational activities were conducted on 20 SMEs from April 2021 to November 2021 at the Unesco Global Geopark Belitong. Using the parcipatory training method, SMEs were able to understand how to conduct digital marketing. The result of this program, is SMEs start to develop their own digital marketing program, with the help from university students. For future program SMEs express their hope that coaching and upskilling in digital marketing will continue in order to help them increase their market.
