#### Abstract

This research aims at analyzing the representation translation of Junior High School students in solving mathematical questions related to algebra. This research used descriptive qualitative approach. The focus of representation translation used in this research was the external representation which was a verbal translation into diagram, verbal into symbolic, symbolic into diagram, diagram into symbolic, and diagram into verbal. Based on the analysis of research findings, it shows that representation translation of students from verbal, symbolic, and diagram into verbal and diagram was not really mastered by the students. Meanwhile, the representation translation into symbolic was frequently used by the students although they were expected to do other translation rather than symbolic.

#### Abstract

This study describes spatial reasoning of senior high school students in solving geometrical transformation problems. Spatial reasoning consists of three aspects: spatial visualization, mental rotation, and spatial orientation. The approach that is used in this study is descriptive qualitative. Data resource is the test result of reflection, translation, and rotation problems then continued by interview. Collecting data process involves 35 students. They are grouped to three spatial reasoning aspects then selected one respondent to be the most dominant of each aspect. The results of this study are: (1) the students with spatial visualization aspect used drawing strategy and non-spatial strategy in solving geometrical transformation problems. She transformed every vertex of the object and drew assistance lines which connect every vertex of the object to center point; (2) the students with mental rotation aspect used holistic and analytic strategies in solving geometrical transformation problems. Using holistic strategy means imagining the whole of transformational objects to solve easy problems. While using analytic strategy means transforming some components of objects to solve hard problems; (3) the students with spatial orientation didn’t involve mental imagery and she only could determine the position and orientation of the object in solving geometrical transformation problems

#### Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji proses koneksi matematika siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah berdasarkan pemahaman Skemp, yakni pemahaman relasional dan pemahaman intrumental. Proses koneksi matematika yang terjadi dikaji dengan cara memberikan Lembar Tugas Individu (LTI) dan wawancara sesuai dengan tahapan Polya. Pengambilan data penelitian menggunakan metode Think-Out-Loud(TOL). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada LTInomor 1, semua subjek kelompok berkategori pemahaman relasional, dan pada LTI nomor 2, subjek kelompok 1 memiliki pemahaman relasional, sedangkan subjek kelompok 2 memiliki pemahaman instrumental. Proses koneksi matematika subjek denganpemahaman relasional dapat mengontruksi hubungan antar konsep matematika, baik antar materi matematika, dan di dalam materi matematika, sedangkan proses koneksi matematika subjek dengan pemahaman instrumental dapatmengontruksi hubungan antar konsep matematika, baik antar materi matematika, dan di dalam materi matematika setelah diberikan stimulus ide penyelesaian.

#### Abstract

Our question is what ring R which all modules over R are determined, up to isomorphism, by their endomorphism rings? Examples of this ring are division ring and simple Artinian ring. Any semi simple ring does not satisfy this property. We construct a semi simple ring R but R is not a simple Artinian ring which all modules over R are determined, up to isomorphism, by their endomorphism rings.

#### Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to describe the ability of looking backÂ  students of SMP Negeri 2 Tegalsiwalan Probolinggo regency in solving rectangular shape problems. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Subjects of this research is three students who had knowledge of geometry level 2 (Informal Deduction) based on Van Hiele's theory. The results showed that subjects at level 2 (Informal Deduction) knowledge of Van Hiele's geometry were able to carry out looking back steps in solving mathematical problems. In addition, the subject is also able to provide more than one way of solving problems and can train students' ability to solve problems.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendiskripsikan kemampuan memeriksa kembali (looking back) siswa SMP Negeri 2 Tegalsiwalan Kabupaten Probolinggo dalam menyelesaikan masalah bangun datar segiempat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah tiga siswa yang memiliki pengetahuan geometri tingkat 2 (Deduksi Informal) berdasarkan teori Van Hiele. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek mampu melaksanakan langkah looking back dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika. Selain itu, subjek juga mampu memberikan lebih dari satu cara dalam menyelesaikan masalah dan dapat melatih kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah.
