Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in student learning outcomes in Geography subjects through the application of investigative learning models and tournaments on the subject matter of atmospheric dynamics and their impact on life. This research is an experimental research. The population is class X students consisting of 8 classes. Sampling with cluster random sampling technique. The sample in this study is class XI 3 as an experimental class and class X 7 as a control class. The results showed that the average value of learning outcomes through the application of investigative learning models was 64.27 of 48 students while the average value of student learning outcomes through the implementation of tournament learning models reached 81.56 of the total number of 48 students . Based on the calculation results it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of geography students who use the tournament learning model are better than the learning outcomes of students who use the investigation model especially on the subject of the environment and its preservation. Therefore it is recommended: (1) teachers can use various learning methods in the learning process to improve student learning outcomes, (2) for teachers who do not understand about learning models, training should be given, and (3) for students who have low interpersonal intelligence teachers can use learning models as an alternative method in the learning process.

Abstract

Pasang is the customary rule of the Ammatoa community in forest management. The objectives of this study are: 1) to identify the role of forests (boronga) for the Ammatoa indigenous people, (2) to identify customary rules in the management of Ammatoa indigenous peoples' forests. This type of research is qualitative using a phenomenology approach. The data sources in this study were Ammatoa (adat chief), Galla Puto (adat leader), Galla Pantama (adat leader), Ammatoa indigenous people, and cultural figures. Data collection is done by observation, interviews, Focus Group Discussion and documentation. Data verification strategy with data triangulation, member checks, and audit trail. The results of the study show that the Ammato’s people in managing forest resources are inseparable from their belief in tide teachings. Forest management is strengthened by the existence of Kasipalli (prohibitions) that should not be carried out in the forest area, namely Ta’bang Kaju (logging), Rao Doang (taking shrimp), Tatta ’Uhe (taking rattan), and Tunu Bani (burning bees). Each of these violations is always accompanied by customary sanctions. Customary sanctions given to forest destroyers who have been identified and captured by the community are divided into 3 parts, namely: Poko babbalak (pangkal cambuk), tangnga babbalak (middle whip), and cappa babbalak (tip of the whip). As for the unknown perpetrators, the Ammatoa performed Attunu Panroli (burning crowbar) and Attunu Passau (burning kemenyang) ceremonies. This form of sanction is a deterrent effect so that the community truly understands the importance of implementing the Pasang and use of forest areas.

Abstract

The importance of this research is to provide a new development in the form of the development of the addition of L-shaped pipe accessories added to the pipe in each tank from previous studies, Implementation of previous research has not been maximized when used in the kitchen of Makassar Tourism Polytechnic so that modifications are made, because it is not there is a difference in waste from each tank, furthermore this research uses research and development research methods with the development of existing models by not build the new construction from scratch, while the development of this research is to add pipes in the form (L) or L-shaped pipe attached to the tank number one (1) as the first tank for waste that is disposed of often containing foam soap, fat and heavy sediments, then in the second tank (2) which already does not contain foam, grease, and heavy sediments, reattach the L pipe to reduce the content is what if it still exists, then add sand material, and gravel, as the dissolved material Chemical Oxygen Demands (COD) dissolved in the third tank (3) before being channeled into the public sewer. This research recommends that before disposal of liquid waste from processed food, it is better to do the separation of the sediment contained in the liquid waste and then to develop it further to get more perfect results, especially the criteria for Wastewater Clarity.
