ABSTRACT Sjuman Djaja said that the ecranization of film can occur when a novel "lives and talks" with the director, teasing his "artistic glands". Unlike the movies. Movie viewers are presented with live, concrete, and visual images, as if the audience is watching real objects or things. Thus, encryption means a change in the enjoyment process, namely from reading to watching, the audience itself changes from a reader to a spectator. This study is also based on the idea that there are more and more films based on novels. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative method. The results of the study show that several films still retain story ideas, plots, and a number of events from the ecranized novels. However, there are not a few films that experience plot changes and a number of events from the story in the novel.
