Abstract

Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Responden adalah Kepala Sekolah, guru PAI, dan guru kelas. Data dikumpulkan berdasarkan hasil wawancara, dokumentasi dan catatan lapangan kemudian data ditranskip menjadi data yang lengkap. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam siswa tunarungu di SMPLB Wantu Wirawan Salatiga berpedoman pada kurikulum KTSP SMP dengan modifikasi guru. Materi yang disampaikan ditekankan pada materi akhlak dan fiqih dengan bobot materi lebih ringan dengan menggunakan metode ceramah, tanya jawab, latihan demonstrasi, menggunakan bahasa yang sederhana, suara yang keras, pelan, jelas, menghadap ke siswa agar melihat gerak bibir guru, dan menggunakan alat peraga. Hasil pembelajaran PAI menunjukkan bahwa siswa tunarungu sudah menjalankan ritual keagamaan dalam keseharian dan berperilaku seperti tuntunan agama, yaitu siswa tunarungu sangat sopan, ramah dan terbiasa melakukan wudhu dan sholat wajib. Kendala yang dialami guru pendidikan agama Islam diantaranya kurangnya jumlah guru PAI, kurangnya pemanfaatan media, kurang disiplinnya siswa. Guru SMPLB-B dalam mengajar menggunakan pendekatan individual, pembiasaan, latihan, dan pengulangan. Anak tunarungu sulit mengartikan konsep abstrak dan kurangnya kemampuan bahasa untuk berkomunikasi sehingga guru melatih dalam meningkatkan bahasa dengan menggunakan bahasa isyarat, menulis, berbicara dan pengejaannya, maupun campuran diantara keseluruhannya. It is a qualitative descriptive research approach. Data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The respondents are the Principal, Islamic religious (PAI) teachers, and classroom teachers. Data were collected by interviews, documentation and field notes. The results showed that the learning of Islamic Education of deaf students in SMPLB Wantu Wirawan, Salatiga based on the curriculum based competence (KTSP) with modification. Materials are presented by emphasis on material of morals and jurisprudence by lighter weight using lectures, discussion, and exercise demonstrations. SLMP-LB uses a simple language and its delivery should be with aloud, slowly, clearly, and face to face, so that students can see the teachers lips move. Learning media employs more props. The learning results show that deaf students are already do a religious ritual in everyday life and behave like religious guidance, such as they act politely, friendly and used to perform ablution and prayer. Constraints experienced by the Islamic religious education teachers include lack of teachers of PAI, the lack of ability of teachers to use the media, lack of discipline students. SMPLB-B teachers are more patient, loving, and the individualized teaching approach, habituation, exercise, model, and repetition. Children with hearing impairment is difficult to interpret the abstract concept and the lack of language skills to communicate so that teachers train in enhancing language using sign language, writing practice, speaking practice, train justification speech, or a mixture of sign language, writing, speech and utterance justification.

Developing Teachers’ Guide to Use Facebook Group in a Blended Writing Course (A Research and Development in IAIN Surakarta) Jati, Roko Patria

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the existence and the quality of any teachers’ guides used for Writing Course in IAIN Surakarta as well as the level of need and related criteria for development. Besides, the developmental steps in developing new teachers’ guide (to use Facebook Group in a blended Writing Course) were also investigated. This research  was conducted in IAIN Surakarta by involving ten teachers and 115 students. The findings of this study were obtained through some qualitative techniques, such as interview, observation, document analysis, and FGD. As the results, it was found that among ten tertiary teachers, only one of them using teachers’ guide or book to teach in the Writing Course. However, nine of them stated their need on the proposed product and one stated his uncertainty. Further, the related supports were also shown by majority of the students involved. Afterward, the draft was developed by considering some suggested criteria of development. After being validated by the related expert, the product was then field tested involving three teachers and 48 students. Through the tryouts conducted, the level of feasibility on the procedure had improved significantly to more than 90%. Keywords: teachers’ guide, Facebook Group, blended Writing Course  ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji keberadaan serta kualitas dari buku panduan guru yang digunakan untuk matakuliah Writing di IAIN Surakarta serta tingkat kebutuhan dan kriteria-kriteria yang terkait pengembangan. Disamping itu, penelitian ini juga menginvestigasi langkah-langkah dalam mengembangkan buku panduan guru. Penelitian ini diselenggarakan di IAIN Surakarta dengan melibatkan 10 dosen dan 115 mahasiswa. Temuan dari penelitian ini diperoleh melalui sejumlah teknik kualitatif seperti wawancara, pengamatan, analisis dokumen dan FGD. Hasilnya, ditemukan bahwa dari 10 dosen tersebut hanya 1 orang yang memanfaatkan buku panduan guru dalam mengampu matakuliah Writing. Meski demikian, 9 orang merasa memerlukan produk tersebut sementara 1 sisanya masih belum pasti. Kebutuhan serupa juga ditunjukkan oleh kebanyakan siswa yang terlibat. Kemudian, draf dikembangkan dengan mempertimbangkan kriteria pengembangan yang disarankan. Setelah mendapatkan validasi pakar, produk diujikan dengan melibatkan 3 dosen dan 48 mahasiswa. Melalui ujicoba yang dilakukan, tingkat kelayakan prosedur meningkat secara signifikan di atas 90%. Kata kunci: pedoman guru, Facebook Group, mata kuliah Writing yang dicampur (blended)

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the implementation of Webquest in a blended EFL (English as Foreign Language) learning context and the students’ speaking skills improvement dealing with it. A number of 21 students were involved in the classroom action research designed. This classroom action research focused on two pedagogical issues of the methodology as well as the students’ improvement of their speaking skills. The lesson plan including the test instruments was prepared in line with the proposed teaching model. To begin, the observation supported with field notes was executed to describe the teaching and learning process. We played the role of passive participant in this period. Subsequently, the students’ speaking skills were evaluated through oral test in which the results of pre-cycle test as well as after-cycles were analyzed using t-test. We found that there was a significant improvement on the students’ speaking skills in term of pronunciation, intonation, fluency, grammar and vocabulary within two cycles of action research. Thus, the implementation of Webquest as media in blended learning was successful to improve the students’ speaking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the use of theLearning Model Think Pair Check and Picture Media can improve social studies learning outcomes for the fourth grade students of MIN Salatiga. This research is a classroom action research consisting of two cycles with 4 stages, namely planning , implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were students of Class IV MIN Salatiga, totaling 34 students. The research instruments were in the form of observation sheets, test questions and documentation. Data collection techniques used in the form of observation, interviews, documentation and tests. The data were analyzed statistically and the cycle was stopped when 85% of students had completed the KKM. The results showed that the use of the Think Pair Check learning model and image media could improve social studies learning outcomes for fourth grade students at MIN Salatiga. The increase in students' learning mastery from Pre-Cycle to Cycle I was 26.46% and Cycle I to Cycle II was 20.59%.
