Abstract

One of the reasons for the low ability to solve mathematical problems is the lack of an active role in understanding and finding and finding the information or data that will be opened. One of the learning strategies used to develop students' problem-solving skills is the PMR approach based on local wisdom. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning with the PMR approach based on local wisdom on mathematical problem solving for junior high school students. This study uses a quantitative approach where the data obtained in the form of tests are tested statistically. The population in this study were all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Samudera, while the samples were class VII-2 as the experimental class, and class VII-3 as the control class. From the results of statistical data processing, it was found that the average value of the experimental class was significantly different from the control class, so it can be found that the application of a local wisdom-based mathematical approach to the mathematical problem solving abilities of SMP Negeri 1 Samudera students.

Abstract

The low ability of students to understand mathematical concepts is due to the low ability of students to understand mathematical concepts and the lack of activeness of students in participating in the learning process. This study aims to describe the increase in the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts by applying the NHT type cooperative learning model using the Refusion Board manipulative media on relations and functions material. This type of research is a type of classroom action research. The subjects of this study were 20 students in class VIII-2 of SMP Negeri 4 Bukit. As for the results obtained from the two actions in this study, namely (1) Learning outcomes for the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts increased or completed with a percentage of 55% in action I increased to 85% in action II. (2) The activity of students participating in learning has increased, namely 70% in action I to 82.22% in action II. (3) The teacher's ability to manage learning is in the "good" category. There was an increase in the percentage in the implementation of action I by 73.57% to 84.28% in action II. Based on the results of the comparison of the percentages of the two stages, it can be concluded that the application of the cooperative learning model of the numbered heads together type using the refusion board manipulative media can improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts.

Abstract

Activities carried out in community service for mathematics teachers at Vocational High Schools (SMK) in Lhokseumawe City are activities to write Classroom Action Research (PTK) and design Learning Implementation Plans (RPP) based on Islamic Dinul. The purpose of this activity is that math teachers at Lhokseumawe City Vocational Schools are able to make PTK and design lesson plans based on Dinul Islam on an ongoing basis in order to improve teacher careers. The form of this activity is by carrying out training and mentoring for 4 days from 26 to 29 April 2021 with a total time of 32 JP with an allocation of 2 days for training and assistance in writing PTK and 2 days for designing lesson plans based on Dinul Islam. Then proceed with assistance in the form of guidance in writing PTK and lesson plans based on Dinul Islam from May to June 2021. The work system carried out by the teacher is group in nature, each group consists of 3 people and works together in determining the PTK title and continuing with writing PTK. Meanwhile, the work system in designing RPP based on Dinul Islam is individual. The results obtained resulted in 10 PTK titles with writing that were still continuous, while Dinul Islam based lesson plans had been printed and collected as many as 26 lesson plans from 30 participants.
