Abstract

Abstract: The current study was intended to know the managerial competences in building the school climate and the satisfaction of the teachers in West Bandung Regency. The research method used was descriptive associative. The population of teachers and principals of public and private elementary schools in Bandung Regency was 751 people. The samples which were chosen through random sampling technique were 112 people. The results of the study suggested that managerial competences had 54.8% influence on the teachers’ job satisfaction; the school climate had 44.2% influence on the teachers’ job satisfaction; managerial competences and school climate had 65% influence on the teachers’ job satisfaction.Keywords: managerial competences, principals, school climate, teachers’ satisfaction, elementary schoolAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah dalam membangun iklim sekolah dan kepuasan guru pada sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif- asosiatif. Populasi guru dan kepala sekolah SD Negeri dan Swasta di Kabupaten Bandung 751 orang. Sampel mengacu pada sampling random sebanyak 112 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah terhadap kepuasan kerja guru sebesar 54,8%; pengaruh iklim sekolah terhadap kepuasan kerja guru sebesar 44,2%; pengaruh kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah dan iklim sekolah terhadap kepuasan kerja guru sebesar 65%.Kata Kunci: kompetensi manajerial, kepala sekolah, iklim sekolah, kepuasan guru, SD.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKajian kepemimpinan pendidikan di era otonomi daerah erat kaitannya dengan eksistensi kekuasaan dan kewenangan pemerintah daerah. Bupati/walikota sebagai penguasa di lingkungan pemerintahan daerah memiliki peran yang dominan dalam menentukan kepemimpinan pendidikan di daerahnya. Eksistensi kepemimpinan pendidikan pada level kab/kota dan satuan pendidikan realitasnya di lapangan belum memainkan perannya secara substansial karena dominasi politik pendidikan oleh bupati/walikota dengan tim suksesnya yang seringkali mengabaikan aspek kompetensi dan profesional. Kondisi semacam inilah yang perlu dibenahi agar pendidikan di daerah secara bertahap dan terus-menerus dapat ditingkatkan mutunya. Aspek transparansi, akuntabilitas dan sistem seleksi calon pemimpin pendidikan di daerah perlu memperoleh perhatian secara benar agar terjadi perubahan ke arah pendidikan yang dapat membangun sumber daya manusia daerah yang cerdas dan berkualitas.

Abstract

RESUME: Pendidikan di madrasah adalah pendidikan yang setara dengan pendidikan pada umumnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontribusi kemampuan manajerial kepala madrasah dan kinerja mengajar guru terhadap mutu Madrasah Aliyah Swasta. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survey. Populasi adalah seluruh Madrasah Aliyah Swasta di Kabupaten Bandung Barat, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 38 madrasah yang diambil berdasarkan “purposive stratified random sampling” dari seluruh Madrasah Aliyah Swasta yang dijadikan sampel di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Penjaringan data menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis melalui korelasi dan regresi. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan dan analisis data ditemukan bahwa kemampuan manajerial kepala madrasah, kinerja mengajar guru, dan mutu Madrasah Aliyah Swasta di Kabupaten Bandung Barat berada pada kategori “tinggi”. Kemampuan manajerial kepala madrasah berkontribusi secara signifikan terhadap mutu madrasah dan berada pada kategori “kuat”. Kinerja mengajar guru berkontribusi secara signfikan terhadap mutu madrasah dan berada pada kategori “cukup kuat”. Akhirnya, secara bersama-sama kemampuan manajerial kepala madrasah dan kinerja mengajar guru berkontribusi secara signifikan terhadap mutu madrasah dan berada pada kategori “kuat”.KATA KUNCI: Kemampuan Manajerial; Kepala Madrasah; Kinerja Mengajar Guru; Mutu Madrasah; Madrasah Aliyah Swasta. ABSTRACT: “Contribution of Principal’s Managerial Skill and Teaching Performance of Teachers to the Quality of Private Islamic Senior High School”. The education in Islamic Senior High School is an education equivalent to education in general. This research aimed to determine the contribution of principal’s managerial skill and teaching performance of teachers to the quality of Private Islamic Senior High School. This research used quantitative approach with survey method. Population in this research is all Private Islamic Senior High School in West Bandung District, West Java, Indonesia. The sample was using stratified random sampling with the sample of 38 Private Islamic Senior High Schools in West Bandung District. Crawl data using questionnaires and analyzed through correlation and regression. Based on data processing and analysis, it was found that the principal managerial skill, teaching performance of teachers, and quality of Private Islamic Senior High School in West Bandung District are “high” category. The principal managerial skillcontribute significantly to quality of Islamic Senior High School and the category are “strong”. Teaching performance of teachers contribute significantly to the quality of Islamic Senior High School and the category are “fairly strong”. Finally, the principal managerial skill and the teaching performance of teachers contribute significantly to the quality of Islamic Senior High School and  the category are “strong”. Abstract

RESUME: Karakter yang berkualitas perlu dibentuk dan dibina sejak usia dini. Usia dini merupakan masa kritis bagi pembentukan karakter seseorang. Banyak pakar mengatakan bahwa kegagalan penanganan karakter pada seseorang sejak usia dini akan membentuk pribadi yang bermasalah di masa dewasanya kelak. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh satu kenyataan dan permasalahan bahwa pendidikan karakter anak sejak usia dini memiliki pengaruh yang kuat pada anak dalam pengembangan kehidupan di masa depan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus pada TK (Taman Kanak-kanak) Khas DT (Daarut Tauhiid) di Bandung, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam pada kepala sekolah dan guru PAUD (Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini) di TK Khas DT tersebut. Triangulasi data dan member cek digunakan sebagai alat analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa implementasi manajemen pendidikan karakter adalah agar anak memiliki karakter yang “BaKu” atau Baik dan Kuat. Karakter baik yaitu karakter anak yang ikhlas, jujur, dan tawadhu. Sedangkan karakter kuat yaitu anak memiliki karakter disiplin, berani, dan tangguh. Implementasi pendidikan karakter anak dilakukan melalui proses kerjasama yang baik antara guru di sekolah dan orang tua di rumah. Dengan demikian, pendidikan karakter akan dapat diwujudkan sesuai dengan tujuan yang telah ditetapkan, apabila guru dan orang tua dapat memainkan perannya masing-masing dengan tepat. Qualified characters need to be established and nurtured from an early age. Early age is a critical period for the formation of ones character. Many experts say that the failure of character handling of a person from an early age will form a problematic person in his/her later adulthood. This research is motivated by the reality and problem that the character education of children from an early age had a strong influence on children in the development of life in the future. This study used a qualitative approach with case studies on TK (Kindergarten) Typical DT (Daarut Tauhiid) in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. Data were collected through interviews on the principals and teachers of ECE (Early Childhood Education) in Kindergarten Typical Daarut Tauhiid. Data triangulation and member checks used as an analytical tool. The results showed that the management of implementation of character education is for children to have a good and strong characters. Good character is the character of children who are sincere, honest, and humble and simple. While the strong character that children have a disciplined character, bold, and tough. Implementation of character education of children is done through a process of good cooperation between teachers at school and parents at home. Abstract

Research in the wake of the problems how much influence interpersonal communication head Dikmenti field to work productivity of employees at the Education Department of West Java Province. The method used is descriptive method supported by literature study. As well as using the techniques of data collection using the questionnaire enclosed with 4 rating scale (Likert) were distributed to 49 employees especially in the field Dikmenti as samples. The problems of this study (1) how the image of interpersonal communication chief of Dikmenti Education Department of West Java Province, (2) how the employee productivity Education Department of West Java Province, (3) how much influence interpersonal communication head of Dikmenti against employee productivity Education Department of West Java Province. Based on the results of data processing which is calculated by using the technique Weight Means Scores (WMS) shows that the average general tendency for the variable X (Interpersonal Communication) obtained at 3.06 and are in very good category. As for the average general trend in Y (Work Productivity) obtained at 3.45 to be in very good category. The calculation result normality test on the distribution of the data that the variables X and Y have normal distribution. Judging from the calculation of the correlation coefficient (rhitung) using the formula obtained Perason Product Moment correlation coefficient of 0675. Thisshows that there is a strong relationship between the variables X and Y. The test results significantly with t-test obtained t is known ttabel 6.031 and 2.012 compared to 6.03˃ 2012 means that significant relationship between interpersonal communication department heads Dikmenti on productivity employee of West Java Provincial Education Office. To determinethe influence of the variables X and Y is shown from the calculation coefficient of determination (KD) of 43%. This shows that the influence of the head of the field of interpersonal communication Dikmenti against employee productivity Education Department of West Java province by 43% and the remaining 57% is influenced by other factors. Likewise, the results of the regression analysis obtained by the equation Y = 44.949 + 0.525 X means every one-unit change in the variable X will provid a change in the variable Y for 0.525.Berdasarkan the above results it can be concluded that the research hypothesis that there is positive and significant correlation between Interpersonal Communication Division leader Dikmenti the Work Productivity Employee Education Department of West Java Province. The results of this study are expected to provide a benefit both for the institution, employees and for further research that will examine communication problems on the productivity of labor.

Abstract

In developing country, it takes quality human resources through education. The government needs to create a program that can make the distribution of education in Indonesia. This paper aimed at analyzing the existing compulsory education programs and factors that affect the realization of the 12 years compulsory education program in Majalengka by using SWOT analysis techniques. This paper used descriptive qualitative approach. The data were collected through interviews, documentation and observation. The result provided the strategy of the implementation 12 years compulsory education was raising awareness of the people of Majalengka about the importance of education especially the 12 years compulsory education.

Abstract

AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan bagaimana pengaruh kompetensi manajerial dan kompetensi kewirausahaan kepala Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri terhadap mutu layanan akademik yang didukung dari hasil wawancara. Mutu layanan akademik perlu ditingkatkan karena pada prestasi akademik siswa, kekurangan jumlah guru serta sarana dan prasarana belajar. Data di dapatkan dari 80 Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri di Kabupaten Ciamis dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 322. Sementara wawancara dilakukan kepada kepala sekolah dan pengelola sekolah di dalamnya. Data dianalisa dengan menggunakan regresi linear ganda untuk melihat seberapa besar pengaruh kompetensi manajerial (X1) dan kewirausahaan (X2) terhadap terhadap mutu layanan akademik (Y). Hasil tersebut didukung dengan hasil wawancara. Dari hasil analisa data menunjukan bahwa kompetensi kompetensi manajerial (X1) dan kewirausahaan (X2) berpengaruh terhadap mutu layanan akademik (Y). Penelitian sangat berguna untuk para peneliti sebagai referensi serta kepala sekolah dalam mengambil keputusan dalam manajerial dan kewirausahaan. Adapun yang lebih penting adalah bagaimana mutu layanan yang diberikan oleh pemerintah melalui kepala sekolah mampu ditingkatkan dalam rangka memenuhi daya saing global di tingkat nasional maupun internasional.Kata Kunci: Kepala Sekolah, Mutu Layanan Akademik, Kompetensi Manajerial, Kompetensi Kewirausahaan AbstractThe purpose of this study is to explain the influence of Public Secondary School Principals on managerial and entrepreneurial competence on the quality of academic services and supported by the results of interviews and documentation studies. Academic quality needs to be improved because of the student's academic skills, the lack of teachers, and the learning facilities and infrastructure in the school. Data were obtained from 80 Public Secondary schools in Ciamis Regency as many as 322 teachers. Data analysis using multiple linear regression to see how much influence managerial competence (X1) and entrepreneurship (X2) on the quality of academic services (Y). These results are supported by the results of the interviews. The results of data analysis show that managerial competence (X1) and entrepreneurship (X2) affect the quality of academic services (Y). Research is very useful for researchers as a reference as well as principals in making managerial and entrepreneurial decisions. Abstract

Kepala Sekolah selaku pemimpin di jalur pendidikan formal memerlukan kemampuan dalam membangun relasi yang baik dengan para guru, tenaga kependidikan, orang tua serta siswa. Dari hasil pengamatan lapangan, masih terdapat jurang pemisah antara kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dengan keterbangunan relasi dalam lingkungan kerja. Artikel ini dibuat untuk menggambarkan pentingnya peran kompetensi komunikasi kepala sekolah dalam membangun relasi demi mewujudkan tujuan Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Panjang Nasional berdasarkan studi dokumentasi.
