Abstract

The morphology of the Cimanuk Delta at the North Java Sea has changed rapidly over the last two decades. The annual sediment deposition is about two million cubic meters (Yuanita and Tingsanchali, [1]). The large-scale ocean hydrodynamics and sediment transport model MuSed3D (Muin, [2]) was applied to the North Java Sea to simulate suspended sediment transport at the study site. A potential offshore structure was positioned at approximately 30 km from the Cimanuk Delta. The result of the large-scale model was calibrated using observation data and Landsat satellite image interpretation. The agreement between the modeling results and the observations was excellent. It was found that the critical shear stresses for erosion and deposition were 0.1 Pa and 0.05 Pa respectively. An empirical formula was further utilized to assess the local scouring at the potential offshore structure site in a small-scale domain and under extreme conditions.

Abstract

Abstract. The paper presents the results of integration of 3D Ocean Hydrodynamics Non-Orthogonal Boundary Fitted with Mangrove. The observed current in several locations in Ajkwa Estuary show that the Non-Orthogonal Boundary Fitted Grid is an excellent technique for geometrically complex water system, and also indicates that the Wet/Dry Area or Mangrove Cell must be included in the computational domain. The model results show that the maximum predicted current will not exceed 30% of the maximum of observed current if the mangrove cell is ignored.

Abstract

ABSTRACTIndustrial area of Indonesia centered in West Java, making many companies producing goods and services. One of the infrastructure that support these activities, such as ports. Economic growth in the future that make the port of Tanjung Priok increasingly crowded, it needed alternative ports. The purpose of this research is to plan a Container Port in Cirebon based on ship and the most optimum cost. The location of Cirebon Container Port at 6o45’3.63” SL and 108o36’23.53” EL. The data were derived from the secondary data including containers demand at Tanjung Priok Port and Cilamaya and environmental data on Cirebon. Port of Tanjung Priok has a demand in the short term is 3,750,000 TEUs, 7,500,000 TEUs medium term and long term 12,000,000 TEUs. Analysis of the results obtained optimum vessel used in Container Port Cirebon for short term, medium term and long term are same, the size of 2,000 TEUs vessels. Keywords: optimization, port, container, Cirebon
