Abstract

Inclusive education is one form of special education in Indonesia to provide opportunities for children with special needs to get an education. But the reality faced by inclusive schools in management and implementation has not been satisfactory. Many things are not in accordance with predetermined standards. In this study using a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research technique was carried out by non-participant observation, in-depth interviews and documentation studies. The results obtained show that the management of inclusive schools is still unsatisfactory such as the lack of facilities and accessibility of children with special needs, special educators, special assistant teachers. This will certainly affect the quality of education, learning processes, and evaluations carried out so that certain stages also have an impact on the outputs and outcomes of students with special needs

Abstract

The study aims to figure out the character values of 3rd grade slow learners’ students at the Inclusive Elementary School. Variables in this research were character values involving honesty, self-confidence, and discipline in learning. The sample consisted of 10 slow learner students of 3rd grade in seven Inclusive Elementary School. Data collection techniques used observations filled by classroom teachers. Data analysis techniques used the Guttmann scale. The score for the percentage of the slow learner's character value is 100% with low categorization. The solution was to provide character education in accordance with the characteristics of the slow learners. The implication was the slow learners got a character education model with method that paid attention to the characteristics of the child. This research is expected to be the basis for further research to be able to develop a character education model based on the BST method for the slow learners in inclusive elementary schools.

Abstract

The purpose of the research: to develop a racing wheelchair for wheelchair racing activities for children with disabilities based on local anthropometry and ergonomics. This research is an RnD research, namely the development of media or sports equipment for children with physical disabilities. The research method used is the ADDIE method. The subjects of this study were two children with physical disabilities in SLB YPAC Surakarta. Data collection is obtained from library books, then looking for supporting paper data. After that, the data collected is analyzed, designing the development of a racing wheelchair, implementing and evaluating so that a conclusion can be drawn. Secondary data were obtained from literature books that underlie special education technology for children. Primary data is obtained from papers or journals on official websites on the internet. The data that has been collected is compiled and then analyzed, to obtain an appropriate conclusion. The results showed that children with physical disabilities need a racing wheelchair by the specifications of their needs, with high quality and affordable prices. Expert validators, practitioners, and users respond positively to the model developed through aspects of attractiveness, motivation, and convenience. The racing wheelchair design that has been developed is effective as a sporting tool for racing wheelchairs based on ergonomics and anthropometry through aspects of media convenience, display of media results and technical quality, the effectiveness of sports equipment. Conclusion: Children with physical impairment in doing sports activities need anthropometric and ergonomic local-based racing wheelchair technology.

Abstract

This study aims to produce media in the form of parenting modules for parents of children with mental retardation that suitable to be used by the parents. Some things that are important in this study include increasing the knowledge and understanding of parents of children with mental retardation so that they can care for the children according to their abilities. In addition, they can develop optimally, and solve problems faced by parents of children with mental retardation. It provides solutions toward the parents’ problems so that children with mental retardation can grow and develop properly. This study uses Research and Development (R&D) based on Borg and Gall. The conducted stages include research and data collection, planning, product draft development, product testing, and revision of product trial results. This product was tested on 21 parents of children with mental retardation. The feasibility of the product is based on the evaluation results of material experts, media experts, and parents of students as test subjects. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis at the problem identification stage used descriptive analysis. While the data analysis technique used on product quality is quantitative descriptive data analysis. The results showed that the parenting module media for parents of children with mental retardation was developed through a series of trials, and expert validation was declared feasible.

Abstract

In this digital era, it seems that printed book readers are starting to shift to digital book readers through electronic devices, new technology has brought great benefits and opportunities in terms of getting information more quickly and efficiently. This study aims to analyze students' reading ability and the characteristics of the media needed to facilitate students' reading activities. This study used a qualitative descriptive research design, with a sample of 100 high school students. The technique of collecting data is through a questionnaire with the instrument consisting of questions that refer to the indicators of PISA questions to find out what difficulties students face in doing the PISA test, the results of the questionnaire are then analyzed descriptively using percentages. The results showed that the overall level of students' reading ability was still relatively low, through the questionnaire it was also shown that students were very interested in developing a learning media, with one of the prominent characteristics of the media being interactive. Therefore, students need an innovation in the form of developing learning media that contains certain characteristics according to the times so that it can be used as a means to facilitate students in activating reading skills. reading skills and reading interest.
