Abstract

Dalam tulisan ini diuraikan karakter morfologi, habitat dandistribusi empat jenis sotong mini jenis I. picteti, I. pygmaeus, I. biserialis dan I. pygmaeusherbereri. Keywords: Cephalopoda, distribution, habitat, Idiosepiidae, Indo-PacificKata kunci: Cephalopoda, distribusi, habitat, Idiosepiidae, Indo-Pacific

Abstract

The freshwater molluscs (snails and bivalves) can be found in many type of water course either flowing or stagnant water. Some of them have survived living in bad condition such as polluted water. There are 199 situ (small lakes) in Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi) have been reported but only 20 % were in good condition, even 12% have dissapeared that caused by silting up of the situ. The aim of the study was to evaluate the diversity of the molluscs as well as to know the condition of on 36 situ along Ciliwung River and Cisadane River. Based on the collected samples, there were 13 species of snails and three species of bivalves. The freshwater snails Filopaludina javanica, Melanoides tuberculata, Pomacea canaliculata always occur in these situ but the bivalves Anodonta woodiana, Pilsbryoconcha exilis and Corbicula javanica only occur in situ Ciranji and Kemuning along Cisadane and Ciliwung rivers, respectively. The decreasing of the mollusc diversity was about 38% in Ciliwung River and 73% in Cisadane River, caused by polluted and silting up of the situ .

Abstract

RISTIYANTI M.MARWOTO. 1987.Some fresh water mussels family L'nionidae and gastropods from Rengas and Sungkai Rivers in Jambi province. Berita Biologi 3(7): 306 -309.Four species of unionids were found in Rengas river; of these Pseudodon vondenbuschianus,Contradens ascia dimotus,Ctenodesma sp.and Rectidens gracilis, while Physunio superbus and C. ascia dimotus were found in Sungkai river. The density of p.superbus was higher than the other species (7 ind/0.09 m ),it seems was affected by the organic detritus and the differences of the substratum sediment. Some of P.superbus were mature with many eggs and glochidia larvae inside the outer gills. The length of this mature mussels is 28 - 56 mm, while the average is 52 mm.The difficulties in finding young Union idae may be due to their size is relatively small it was or caused by the specific biology of these animals. The occurance of some gastropods in Rengas and Sungkai river were also discussed.

RISTIYANTI. M. MARWOTO & M. DJAJASASMITA. 1986. Competition and population density of the molhiscan fauna in Lake Singkarak, West Sumatera. Berita Biologi 3(6): 293 - 296.A study of the competition and density of the molluscan fauna of coastal water in Lake Singkarak, West Sumatera, has been carried out in October 1982. The molluscs collection consisted of 4 thiarids (Brotia costula, Melanoides granifera, M. tuberculata and Thiara scabra), 2 planorbids (Gyraulus feunerborni and G. sumatranusj, 1 bulimid (Emmericiopsis lacustris) and 1 corbiculid clam (Corbicula moltkeana). The stony and sandy coastal 2 water is dominated by B. costula (59/0.09 m ) 2followed by C. molticeana'(32/0.09 m ), E. lacus- 2 2 tris (31/0.09 m ), M. tuberculata (21/0.09 m ) 2 and the other species 1 - 10/0.09 m .The water quality (temperature 27.7°C, pH 6.3, alkalinity 88.5 ppm and disolved oksigen 7.95) and food (detritus and periphyton) seems to be adequate to wpport the molluscan life.

RISTIYANTI M. MARWOTO. 1986. The egg development on .Amerianna carinata (H. Adams). Berita Biologi 3(4): 178 - 180. An attempt was made to observe the egg development on 14 of A. carinata snails collected from a pond near the palace at the Bogor Botanical Gardens. It was found that after being incubated for 2-4 days, many of the snails laid 7 capsules, each capsule containing 3 to 27 eggs. The diameter of the capsule was between 4-7 mm, while the egg was about 0,3 mm. The embryos completed their development within 7 days and it was then followed by the egg batched in 1 to 2 days.
