Abstract

A study of the use of teaching models induces changes in concepts Simson Tarigan on chemistry student learning outcomes has been conducted to determine student learning outcomes of students taught using teaching models induced changes in concepts Simson Tarigan. The population in this study were all students of class X SMA Negeri 3 Medan 2011/2012 academic year consists of six classes, sampling technique was randomly. The sample consisted of two classes where the class X.5 as grade control using conventional learning models and X.6 class as a class experiment using the model of teaching induces changes in concept Samson Tarigan. Each class sample was of 40 people. Instruments used as a data collection tool that tests of learning outcomes in the form of 20 multiple choice questions (validated) with the answer choices as much as five choices (A, B, C, D, and E). Data were analyzed using the computer Excel programme, includes a description of the data, normality, homogenity, and hypothesis testing. The analysis of the data obtained by the average value of the initial test scores (pre-test) experimental class students obtained at 35.75 with a standard deviation of 8.589 and the average post-test scores obtained at 82 with a standard deviation of 6.28, while in the control class that the average test score initial (pre-test) students at 37.125 with a standard deviation of 10.675 and the average post test score obtained at 75.625 with a standard deviation of 5.087. Based on hypothesis testing was done by using the t-test (testing the right side) with α= 0.05 was obtained t (4.988) > t table (1.6671), in other words the learning outcomes was in the category of high learning outcomes (G=72%) and the control class that learning outcomes in the middle category (G=61.2%). This show that was outside the reception Ho, then based on these tests showed that Ho was rejected and means Ha accepted, so it could be stated that the results of studying chemistry students who are taught by the teaching models induces changes in concept Simson Tarigan higher learning outcomes chemistry students chemistry student takut taught higher than learning outcomes chemistry of students taught by conventional methods.

Abstract

Pembelajaran kimia merupakan salah satu pembelajaran yang memerlukan keterampilan dalam memecahkan masalah-masalah ilmu kimia berupa teori, konsep, hukum, dan fakta. Untuk menguasai suatu mata kuliah diperlukan berbagai sarana atau pun alat berupa bahan ajar guna mempermudah proses belajar mengajar, salah satu hal yang penting adalah modul ajar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: 1) mengembangkan modul ajar kimia unsur berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada mahasiswa pendidikan kimia , 2) menguji validitas dari modul kimia unsur yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan yang dilakukan dengan menerapkan model pengembangan ADDIE tetapi hanya pada tahap pendefinisian, perancangan dan pengembangan modul ajar. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan  instrumen validasi. Pengembangan modul ajar kimia unsur berbasis inkuiri terbimbing dalam pembelajaran kimia  dapat meningkatkan keaktifan dan kemampuan yang dimiliki oleh peserta didik untuk mencari dan menyelesaikan permasalahan secara sistematis, logis, dan analitis pada mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia.

Abstract

Abstrak   Perkembangan teknologi informasi yang semakin pesatnya telah melingkupi setiap elemen bidang ilmu termasuk dalam bidang pendidikan. Salah satu pemanfaatan teknologi informasi dalam bidang pendidikan yaitu pembuatan media pembelajaran atau bahan ajar elektronik dan atau interaktif. Selain model, pendekatan, dan metode pembelajaran yang diperlukan dalam proses pembelajaran, bahan ajar dan media pembelajaran juga diperlukan agar meningkatkan minat dan motivasi mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran kimia lingkungan yaitu belum tersedianya bahan ajar yang dapat digunakan mahasiswa serta belum mempunyai kemampuan analisis untuk menghubungkan antara ilmu kimia yang diperoleh dengan permasalahan lingkungan disekitar. Oleh sebab itu, dalam penelitian ini dibuat modul kimia lingkungan dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi Kvisoft Flipbook maker untuk membuat modul elektronik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membuat rancangan (desain) modul elektronik kimia lingkungan dengan pendekatan project based learning (PjBL). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif atau menggambarkan proses desain dari modul elektronik kimia lingkungan dengan pendekatan PjBL dengan menggunakan Kvisoft Flipbook Maker. Dalam desain modul elektronik ini menggunakan beberap fitur seperti corel draw untuk meningkatkan tampilan modul seperti cover dan desain kertas dengan menggunakan tema kemaritiman atau potensi lokal Provinsi Kepulauan Riau yaitu laut,dan gonggong, sedangkan untuk membuat modul elektronik digunakan dan Kvisoft Flipbook maker pro versi 4.0.   Kata kunci: kvisoft flipbook maker, modul elektronik, pendekatan project based learning   Abstract   The progress of information technology which was increasingly developed has encompassed every element of the field of science included of education. One of the used of information technology in the education field was the created of learning media or electronic and or interactive teaching materials. In addition to the models, approaches, and learning methods needed in the learning processed, teaching materials and learning media were also needed to increase students interest and motivation in learning. The problems experienced by students in the study of environmental chemistry were the unavailability of teaching materials that can be used by students and did not have the analytical ability to connect the chemistry obtained with the surrounding environmental problems. Therefore, in this research was made an environmental chemistry module by utilizing the Kvisoft Flipbook maker application to make electronic module. The aimed of this research was to design electronic environmental chemistry modules with a project based learning approach (PjBL). This research used descriptive methods or describes the design processed of the environmental chemistry electronic module with the PjBL approach used Kvisoft Flipbook Maker. In the design of this electronic module used features such as corel draw to improve the appearanced of modules such as paper cover and design using maritime themes or local potential of Riau Islands Province as the sea, and gonggong, while to make electronic modules used and Kvisoft Flipbook maker pro version 4.0. Keywords: kvisoft flipbook maker, electrnic module, project based learning approach

Abstract

Air merupakan komponen penting untuk melakukan aktivitas sehari-hari. Beberapa parameter kualitas air yaitu paramater fisika, kimia dan biologi. Salah satu parameter kimia kualitas air yaitu kesadahan air. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh warga Desa Berakit yaitu air yang digunakan mengandung ion Ca2+ dan Mg2+ yang ditunjukkan dengan berkurangnya kemampuan mencuci dari sabun dan menghasilkan kerak di dinding ketel/panci saat pemasakan air sehingga merugikan warga. Oleh sebab itu tujuan dari Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan alat yang dapat mengolah air sadah, pemberian sosialisasi dan pelatihan kepada masyarakat sehingga dihasilkan air yang bebas dari kesadahan yaitu ion Ca2+ dan Mg2+. Metode pelaksanaan ini dilakukan dengan metode: 1) survey dan wawancara, 2) desain alat pengolahan air sadah. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini yaitu mendapatkan informasi mengenai permasalahan air warga yang disebabkan oleh air sadah dan besi serta menghasilkan desain alat pengolahan air sadah.

Abstract

The development of a Science Process Skills Approach-based Laboratory Work Instruction has been conducted on Heat of Reaction topic. The subject of the research is the students of class XI in Senior High School 2 Tanjungpinang. The research aims to determine the feasibility of laboratory work instruction in terms of the validity and practicality categories. In the category of validity, there are five aspects studied including the aspects of content feasibility, grammar, presentation, graphical design, and science process skills. The validation results obtained from three validators was 92.46% (very valid category). In the practicality category was conducted on 40 students. In this category, there are seven aspects studied, namely aspects of observing, classifying, interpreting, determining hypotheses, applying, designing experiments, and communicating. The result shows that a science process skills approach-based laboratory work instruction is categorized in the practical criteria (82.28%).
