Abstract

This paper presents the findings from a posttest experiment control group design by using reciprocal teaching, conducted in Indonesia University of Education to investigate students' ability in mathematical communication and self regulated learning.  The subject of the study were 254 of 9th grade students from three junior high schools of the high, medium, and low level in Bojonegoro, East Java.  The instruments of the study were an essay mathematical communication test, and a self-regulated learning scale. The study found that reciprocal teaching took the best role among school cluster and students' prior mathematics ability on students' mathematical communication ability and self-regulated learning as well.  The other finding was there was an interaction between school cluster and teaching approaches, but was no interaction between students' prior mathematics ability and teaching approaches on mathematical communication ability and self-regulated learning. Moreover, there was an association between mathematical communication and self regulated learning.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pembelajaran berbasis masalah berdasarkan langkah-langkah pemecahan masalah Polya yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika siswa kelas 8 SMPN 4 Malang. Data penelitian diperoleh dari analisis lembar jawaban tes, lembar observasi, lembar catatan lapangan, dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis masalah berdasarkan langkah-langkah pemecahan masalah Polya yang dapat  meningkatkan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika siswa kelas 8 adalah 1) mengenalkan siswa pada masalah, 2) mengorganisasi siswa untuk belajar, 3) membantu investigasi mandiri dan kelompok dengan menggunakan langkah-langkah pemecahan masalah Polya, yaitu a) memahami masalah, b) menyusun rencana, c) melaksanakan rencana, dan d) mengecek kembali, 4) mengembangkan dan mempresentasikan hasil karya, dan 5) menganalisis dan mengevaluasi proses pemecahan masalah.The purpose of this study was to describe the problem-based learning by Polya’s steps problem solving that can improve math word problem solving grade 8 SMPN 4 Malang. Data were obtained from the analysis of the test answer sheets, observation sheets, sheets of field notes, and the questionnaires. The results showed that the problem-based learning by Polya’s steps problem solving that can improve student math story problems completion of grade 8 are 1) to introduce students to the problem, 2) organize the students to learn, 3) helping independent investigation and groups using the Polya’s steps problem solving, namely a) understand the problem, b) devise a plan, c) carry out the plan, and d) look back, 4) develop and present work, and 5) analyze and evaluate the problem-solving process.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to develop a web-based learning media in sequence and series. This kind of research was a research and development (R & D) study. The steps in developing this media consist of analysis of the products developed, developing initial products, and product trial. The result showed that web-based learning media valid.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis web pada materi barisan dan deret. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan. Prosedur dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari analisis produk yang dikembangkan, mengembangkan produk awal, dan uji coba produk. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis web yang dikembangkan valid.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan langkah-langkah pemberian tugas mandiri pre-instructional pada pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD untuk meningkatkan pemahaman persamaan lingkaran dan garis singgung lingkaran siswa kelas XI IPA 1 SMAN 9 Malang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa, tes tulis, catatan lapangan, dan penilaian diri siswa. Penerapan pemberian tugas mandiri pre-instructional pada pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dilaksanakan dengan langkah-langkah sebagai berikut: (1) guru memberikan tugas mandiri pre-instructional sebelum pelaksanaan pembelajaran, (2) guru meninjau ulang materi sebelumnya atau prasyarat dengan strategi tanya jawab, (3) guru mengkomunikasikan tujuan dan aturan pembelajaran, (4) menerapkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD yang meliputi presentasi kelas, diskusi kelompok, dan kuis, (5) guru meminta siswa menyimpulkan materi yang dipelajari, dan (6) guru memberikan tugas mandiri pre-instructional untuk pembelajaran berikutnya. Tahap pemberian skor kemajuan individual dan penghargaan kelompok di laksanakan setelah dua kali pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Dari hasil penelitian siklus I, siswa yang mencapai nilai lebih dari atau sama dengan 78 ada sebanyak 72,22%, sedangkan pada siklus II ada sebanyak 83,33%.The purpose of this study is to describe the steps giving independent pre-instructional tasks on STAD cooperative learning to improve the understanding of the equation of the circle and tangent to the circle in grade 11 IPA 1 SMAN 9 Malang. This type of research is a classroom action research. Data collection techniques used were observation activities of teachers and students, a written test, field notes, and student self-assessment. The implementation of the giving independent pre-instructional tasks on STAD cooperative learning carried out by steps as follows: (1) the teacher gives the task independently pre-instructional prior to the implementation of learning, (2) the teacher to review the previous material or prerequisite to the strategy frequently asked questions, (3) teachers communicate the objectives and rules of learning, (4) implementing STAD cooperative learning which include class presentations, group discussions and quizzes, (5) the teacher asks the students concluded the material being studied, and (6) the teacher gives the task independently pre-instructional for the next lesson. Phase scoring the progress of individual and group awards implemented, after twice implementation of learning. From the results of the first cycle studies, students who achieve a value greater than or equal to 78 there was as much as 72.22%, while in the second cycle there is as much as 83.33%.

Abstract

Abstract: This research was aimed to produce an textbooks for teacher and students with the contextual teaching and learning river environment based in the geometry material. The results of the study as follows: (1) Test result from material expert to teacher textbooks are obtained 3,87 and students textbooks are obtained 3,17, (2) test result from design expert to teacher textbooks are obtained 3,17 and students textbooks are obtained 3,40, teacher assess to textbooks for teacher and students are obtained 3,18, and (4) student activity and learning outcomes in six learning of whole into effective category.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku guru dan siswa dengan menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual berbasis lingkungan sungai pada materi bangun datar. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut. (1) hasil uji ahli materi terhadap buku guru memperoleh skor 3,87 valid dan buku siswa memperoleh skor 3,87, (2) hasil uji ahli desain terhadap buku guru memperoleh skor 3,17, dan buku siswa memperoleh skor 3,40, (3) penilaian guru terhadap buku guru dan buku siswa memperoleh skor 3,18, dan (4) keaktifan siswa dan hasil belajar dalam enam pembelajaran masuk kategori efektif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis powerpoint pada materi kerucut yang valid dan praktis. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah modifikasi model 4D yang dikembangkan oleh Thiagarajan, yaitu pendefinisian, perancangan, dan pengembangan. Hasil analisa kevalidan menunjukkan bahwa media memenuhi kriteria valid dengan rata-rata skor 3,32. Hasil analisis kepraktisan menunjukkan bahwa media dinyatakan praktis dengan kriteria rata-rata skor hasil observasi kegiatan pembelajaran 3,83 dan skor hasil angket siswa 3,43. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut, media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis powerpoint dapat dinyatakan valid dan praktis.This study aims to develop powerpoint-based interactive learning media on the material of cone. The development model used is the modification of 4D model developed by Thiagarajan, that is defining, designing, and developing. The results of the validity analysis showed that the media fulfill the valid criteria in average score of 3.32. The results of practical analysis showed that the media was practical in average score of observation result of learning activity 3.83 and score of student questionnaire result 3,43. Based on the results of the analysis, powerpoint-based interactive learning media was valid and practical.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the standard process of mathematical reasoning in learning on pyramid volume concepts. The study was a study with descriptive qualitative approach, carried out by peer teaching in the classroom. The subjects of this research were Class B Postgraduate 2018 (S2) students, State University of Malang. The standard process of this activity was to recognize reasoning and verification as a basic aspect in mathematics, to make and investigate mathematical conjecture, to find out how to develop and evaluate mathematical arguments and verification, to find out how to choose and use various types of reasoning and proof methods.
