Abstract

ABSTRAK Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai formulasi sediaan sabun mandi cair dengan zat aktif ekstrak daun kumis kucing (Orthosiphon aristatus (Bl) Miq) dengan berbagai variasi konsentrasi basis Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat formula sabun mandi cair ekstrak daun kumis kucing yang sesuai kriteria Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) 06-4085-1996. Pengujian terhadap sediaan sabun mandi cair disesuaikan dengan syarat ketentuan SNI dengan beberapa tambahan, pengujian-pengujian tersebut meliputi organoleptik, pH, alkali bebas, bobot jenis, cemaran mikroba, viskositas, stabilitas busa, aktivitas antibakteri sediaan serta uji hedonik. Hasil menunjukan bahwa Formula III memenuhi syarat SNI ksementara untuk Formula I dan Formula II memenuhi syarat SNI kecuali pada pengujian bobot jenis. Pada pengujian aktivitas antibakteri, Formula I menghasilkan zona hambat sebesar 7 mm ± 0,25, Formula II menghasilkan zona hambat sebesar 7,2 mm ± 0,34, dan Formula III menghasilkan zona hambat sebesar7,9 mm ± 0,25, sementara untuk sediaan pembanding yaitu Nuvo® menghasilkan zona hambat sebesar 8,9 mm ± 0,20. Hasil akhir menunjukkan bahwa sediaan sabun mandi cair ekstrak daun kumis kucing yang paling baik secara kimia, fisika, mikrobiologi dan sesuai dengan SNI adalah Formula III. Kata kunci : Sabun mandi cair, kumis kucing (Orthosiphon aristatus (Bl) Miq), VCO, zona hambat. ABSTRACT It has been researched on the formulation of liquid soap with active substances from leaf extract of kidney tea (Orthosiphon aristatus (Bl) Miq) with various concentrations of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) base. The aim of this study was to create a liquid soap formula from extract leaves kidney tea that fulfill the criteria of Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 06-4085-1996. Tests on liquid soap dosage adapted to the requirements of SNI with some additional conditions, the tests were including: organoleptic, pH level, free alkali levels, specific gravity, microbial contamination, viscosity, foam stability, antibacterial activity as well as the preparation of hedonic test. Results showed that Formula III fulfill the SNI criterias, while Formula I and Formula II also fulfill the SNI criteria, except the specific gravity testing. In the antibacterial activity testing, Formula I showed the inhibition zone of 7 mm ± 0.25, Formula II of 7.2 mm ± 0.34, and Formula III of 7,9 mm ± 0.25, while for the comparative preparations Nuvo® showed of 8.9 mm ± 0.20. The final result showed that the most stable liquid soap extract kidney tea leaf either in chemistry, physics, microbiology properties and fulfilled the SNI criterias was Formula III. Keywords : liquid bath soap, kidney tea (Orthosiphon aristatus (Bl) Miq), VCO, inhibition zone

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui formulasi dan uji aktivitas anti jerawat kombinasi gel ekstrak etanol daun sirsak (Annona muricata L.) dan daun jambu biji (Psidium guajava L.) secara in vitro maupun in vivo. Daun sirsak secara tradisional digunakan untuk mengobati jerawat. Diketahui bahwa daun sirsak mengandung senyawa asetogenin, tanin, fitosterol, kalsium oksalat, alkaloid murisin, flavonoida dan steroida. Penelitian mengenai aktivitas anti jerawat ekstrak daun jambu biji telah dilakukan oleh Qa’dan et al pada tahun 2005. Sampel diperoleh dari kombinasi ekstrak daun sirsak (Annona muricata L.) dan daun jambu biji (Psidium guajava L.) menggunakan metode maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96 %. Sediaan diformulasi dalam bentuk gel dan diuji konsentrasi hambat minimum  dan aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Propionibacterium acne dengan menggunakan gel Cindala® sebagai pembanding. Studi in vivo dilakukan menggunakan tikus (Rattus novergicus) galus Wistar sebagai hewan uji dengan pemberian suspensi koloni Propionibacterium acne sebagai penginduksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gel kombinasi ekstrak daun sirsak dan ekstrak daun jambu biji memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Propionibacterium acne dengan formulasi gel menggunakan karbomer sebagai basis. Pengujian secara in vivo menunjukkan hasil bahwa gel tersebut memiliki aktivitas antijerawat dan berbeda secara signifikan secara statistik terhadap kontrol negatif. This study aims to determine the formulation and testing of anti-acne combination gel activity of ethanol extract of leaves of soursop (Annona muricata L.) and leaves of guava (Psidium guajava L ) in in - vitro and in - vivo. Soursop leaf is traditionally used to treat acne . It is known that asetogenin soursop leaves contains compounds acetogenin, tannins, phytosterols, calcium oxalate, murisin alkaloids, ????la- vonoids and steroid. Research on anti- acne activity of guava leaf extract has been carried out by Qa’dan et al in 2005. Samples were obtained from a combination of extracts of leaves of soursop (Annona muricata L.) and leaves of guava (Psidium guajava L ) using the method of maceration with 96 % ethanol. The preparation is formulated in the form of a gel and tested the minimum inhibitory concentration and antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acne using Cindala ® gel for comparison. In-vivo studies conducted using rats (Rattus novergicus) galus Wistar as test animals by administration of Propionibacterium acne bacteria colonies suspense as inducers.The results showed that the combination gel of soursop leaf extract and guava leaf extract has anti bacterial activity against Propionibacterium acne with carbomer gel formulation using as a base. In vivo testing results show that the gel has anti acne activity and statistically signi????icantly different to the negative control.
