Abstract

The number of movies made in Indonesia there are several films that give a good moral message in it. Through the movie "Yowis Ben" the director tried to make something new and different from the comedy genre films on previous comedy films. The purpose of this research is to know and understand the moral messages contained in the movie Yowis Ben. In this study used qualitative research method by using the research object of the Film Yowes Ben. While the data analysis technique uses the semiotic analysis of Charles Sander Pierce which is based on logic, with reasoning through the signs. The Model that shows the three main elements of the marking forming is representament, object and Interpretant. The results of this research show that the YOWIS BEN film has a moral message in various sides of life through signs that are munncul both visual and verbal in their respective stories. There is a moral message related to Bayu's life. It can therefore be concluded that the figures and the talks that exist in each scene are a representation of the moral message.

Abstract

Communication patterns occur in every organization, including the Alliance of Independent Journalists/Aliansi Jurnalis Independen (AJI) Malang in advocating journalists. Journalists who are members of AJI Malang will find it easier to overcome problems while carrying out their journalistic tasks because AJI Malang has three main issues that are always the center of attention, which are the struggle to maintain press freedom, improve journalist's professionalism, and improve the welfare of journalists. The purpose of this study was to determine the organizational communication pattern of the Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI) Malang in advocating journalists and factors that hinder the Malang Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI) in advocating journalists. This study used qualitative research methods. The method of data analysis used by researchers is the descriptive method, which describes the results of the data obtained.The results of the study prove that the communication pattern of the Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI) Malang uses the primary, secondary, linear and circular communication patterns. While the factors that hinder the Malang Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI) in advocating for journalists are two factors, which are the internal factor comes from the number of journalists who have not understood the journalistic code of ethics and stopped the case in the middle of an advocacy process. While external factors came from press companies that were less proactive in guarding advocacy by journalists.

Abstract

The development of technology makes online media get a greater portion of readers than print media that were first born. Online media that rely on speed often violate journalistic code of ethics so it should be reviewed so that there is an improvement. This study aims to look at the quality of news on Regional Election (Pilkada) on Malangvoice.com. This study uses a qualitative method. The data source in this research are the news in Malangvoice.com online mass media related to Malang City Election News which was taken in June 2018. This media was chosen because it is one of the most widely read media in Malang Raya. The set of analysis units amounted to 15 Pilkada news in the voting month, namely June 2018. The news quality theory used in this study is in accordance with the Journalistic Code of Ethics, namely accuracy, balance, objectivity, concise, and actual. The results showed Malang Voice has advantages in the field of technical quality such as writing, the object of reporting, brevity and actuality. But Malang Voice has weaknesses in the quality of news content such as accuracy, objectivity and balance.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the efforts of gender equality contained in the Kartini film through the semiotic study of Roland Barthes. Roland Barthes's analysis is used to find out the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myth in an image contained in artistic visualization, act, and dialogue in the film "Kartini". The results of this study that the connotation meaning of the Kartini film in the perspective of gender equality is an effort to fight for gender equality by Kartini as a woman who likes to write and teach literacy to others while denotative meaningthe effort to fight for gender equality in Kartini's film is that Kartini struggles through the path of literacy because literacy is a good way to fight for gender equality, with literacy she breaks Javanese culture which considers women unequal to men andhave abilities below men.Keywords: Semiotics, Kartini, Gender equality. Keywords—: Semiotics; Kartini; Gender Equality.

Abstract

Mass media is one of the most frequently used promotional tools by industry. Unfortunately, advertising not only contains product marketing but also spreads unfair ideas towards women, especially beauty product advertisements. Ramadan Bersih's version from Dettol Soap advertisement depicts a family containing a husband, wife, and children with their respective roles. This study focuses on women's role as housewives in advertisement using gender theory and Roland Barthes' semiotic model. The study found a tendency to place women as housewives responsible for cleaning the house, cooking, supervising children, educating, maintaining children's righteousness, and washing. This study strengthens the previous study's findings regarding women's domestication in advertising. In conclusion, advertising builds a household member's conception role in an unbalanced gender distinction. As a cultural product consumed by the wider community, the industry should pay more attention to advertisements designed to sell goods without eliminating gender education and justice elements

Abstract

The purpose of doing this research is to know how personal branding a person made by utilizing social media. Like the d_kadoor phenomenon of uploading a unique and unique video. In a number of videos shared by him, it looks Kadir Bachmid or d_kadoor behaving witty. Most imitate the behavior of mothers, ranging from clothing, style to the theme of gossip about arisan. Research on d_kadoor is a personal branding domain so that the theory used is personal branding. While the desired approach in this study is a qualitative approach with only one informant, namely Kadir Bachmid as d_kadoor itself. The results of this study illustrate that personal branding can show popular (famous) people. With the following strategies: 1) social media as a primary need. 2) Creative, inofatif, and have high confidence in Social Media For Personal Branding.3) Sensitive to information that is becoming a trend in society.4) Be entertaining.5) Non verbal and verbal communication has an identity.

Abstract

Selama tiga tahun terakhir hoax terus dibicarakan sebagai bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari aktivitas politik di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi calon legislatif perempuan terkait hoax yang terjadi selama pemilihan umum serentak tahun 2018 dan 2019. Konsep tentang persepsi di fase kognitif, afektif, dan konatif, digunakan untuk menganalisis hasil wawancara. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam kepada empat calon anggota legislatif perempuan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa secara kognitif calon anggota legislatif perempuan memiliki pemahaman yang komprehensif terkait hoax tetapi kurang peduli untuk mengidentifikasi hoax. Pada aspek afektif, calon anggota legislatif perempuan tidak menyetujui penggunaan hoax dalam kampanye politik, dan pada kesempatan yang sama mereka mengklaim politisi pengguna hoax lebih banyak dibanding politisi yang jujur. Meskipun demikian, secara tindakan, tidak ada upaya pelaporan oleh calon anggota legislatif perempuan terhadap penyebar hoax karena beberapa hal; ketidakpahaman mekanisme pelaporan hoax, tidak mau melaporkan jika tidak menyinggung pribadi secara langsung, dan instruksi dari partai.

Abstract

Kebebasan pers di Indonesia tidak menjamin pertanggungjawaban secara menyeluruh terhadap produk berita media massa. Banyak penelitian yang mengindikasikan berita media massa secara tidak proporsional membela kepentingannya sendiri. Media massa sebagai institusi yang memiliki akses terhadap informasi publik harus memiliki tanggung jawab untuk memberitakan peristiwa dengan benar dan cara-cara yang digunakannya juga benar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui etika jurnalistik di Detik.com dan Republika.co.id pada pemberitaan Aksi 22 Mei 2019 yang memprotes hasil penghitungan suara yang dilakukan Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) RI pada Pemilihan Presiden 2019. Ditemukan 35 berita dari tanggal 21 Mei sampai 31 Mei yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan Kode Etik Jurnalistik dengan indikator : menguji informasi, keberimbangan berita, tidak mencampuradukkan fakta dan opini yang menghakimi, dan asas parduga tidak bersalah. Hasilnya terdapat inkonsistensi pada kedua media dalam pemberitaan Aksi 22 Mei, terutama dalam keberimbangan berita. Detik melanggar hampir di semua indikator, sedangkan Republika melanggar pada poin menguji informasi dan keberimbangan berita. Pelanggaran yang dilakukan Detik dan Republika dapat memengaruhi persepsi publik terhadap peristiwa penolakan penghitungan suara pada Pilpres 2019. Jika persepsi masyarakat dibentuk oleh media massa berdasarkan kepentingan politik maka dikhawatirkan kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap pemerintah akan berkurang. Penelitian ini sekaligus memberi tambahan data dan informasi bahwa media di Indonesia masih belum menerapkan kode etik jurnalistik secara menyeluruh pada pemberitaannya. Journalism freedom does not always relate to accountability for mass media products in Indonesia. Many studies indicate that mass media have tendencies to defend their benefits. The mass media that has access to public information must have the responsibility to preach the news correctly, and the methods it uses are also correct. This study aims to identify the journalism ethics in Detik.com and Republika.co.id toward their news related to ‘22 Mei 2019 Movement’. The movement itself aimed to protest the results of the election conducted by Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) in the 2019 Presidential Election. This study found 35 news from 21st May to May 31st, which was then analyzed using Journalistic Code of Ethics by following indicators: testing information, balancing news, not mixing up facts and judgmental opinions, and the principle of presumption of innocence. The result showed the two media inconsistencies in reporting the 22 Mei 2019 Movement, especially in the sake of news balance. Detik.com violated almost all indicators, while Republika violated the points of testing information and the balance of news. Detik and Republika's violations could affect public perceptions of the rejection of vote counting events in the 2019 Presidential Election. If the mass media form public perceptions based on political interests, public trust in the government will decrease. This research also provides additional data and information that the media in Indonesia has not yet applied the journalistic code of ethics as a whole in its reporting.

Abstract

AbstrakMenggunakan media merupakan salah satu keperluan primer bagi masyarakat sekarang, sehingga setiap saat dan setiap waktu bergelut dengan yang namanya media. Pembahasan utama dalam paper ini adalah “Ahok effect dan Etika bermedia”. Kasus yang digeluti mantan Gubernur Jakarta tersebut membuat kehebohan di Media terutama online. Banyak pengguna media yang merespon dan mengakibatkan masyarakat bermusuhan akibat efek kasus Ahok terlebih soal SARA. Pada kasus Ahok VS FPI salah satu contohnya, bagaimana para pendukung Ahok dan FPI bisa saling buli dan merasa superior pada golongannya masing-masing. Menggunakan metode analisis media, artikel ini bertujuan supaya bagaimana masyarakat mengerti apa yang terjadi akibat Ahok effect  dalam media dan juga masyarakat bisa mengetahui bagaimana beretika dalam penggunaan media terutama media sosial.AbstractUsing the media is one thing that spelled out the basic necessity for the community, so that every moment and every time wrestle with the name of the media. The main discussion in this paper is "Ahok effect and Ethics bermedia". The case of the former Governor of Jakarta is making a furore in the Media, especially Online. Many media users are making hostilities due to the effects of the Ahok case. In the case of Ahok vs. FPI one example, how the supporters of Ahok and FPI can bully and feel superior to their respective groups. fanaticism becomes a factor that causes the supporters of each party to feel superior and ignore the ethics in using the media.

Abstract

Abstract: Framing the news in newspapers has a negative effect on society as readers. Because pass through framing the news, information obtained society is not intact. As well as news of case disposal of assets of PT. Panca Wira Usaha Java East (PWU Jatim) that involved Dahlan Iskan.This study aims to determine how a media framing the news in relating to the case of release of PT Panca Wira Usaha Java assets East in Jawa Pos and Tempo newspapers, and also to know the difference in framing between Letters news Jawa Pos and Tempo. This study used qualitative methods, with data collection techniques news documentation the case of Dahlan Iskan which was published on Jawa Pos and Tempo newspapers. Starting from April 01, 2017- April 22, 2017. From the research that has been implemented there are some conclusions: (1) Jawa Pos newspaper tend to position Dahlan Iskan not guilty in case of disposal of PT Panca Wira East Java. Business of East Java While the news in Tempo newspaper tends to position Dahlan Iskan guilty in the disposal of assets owned by Panca Wira Usaha Jawa Timur. (2). There is the difference of framing between Jawa Pos and Tempo newspapers in presenting the news about Dahlan Iskan case related to the release of PWU assets of East Java. Key Words: Framing Analysis, News, Dahlan Iskan, Newspaper Abstrak: Pembingkaian berita yang ada dalam surat kabar berdampak kurang baik terhadap masyarakat sebagai pembaca. Karena melalui pembingkaian berita, informasi yang diperoleh masyarakat tidak secara utuh. Seperti halnya berita kasus pelepasan aset PT. Panca Wira Usaha Jawa Timur (PWU Jatim) yang melibatkan Dahlan Iskan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana suatu media membingkai berita terkait kasus pelepasan aset PT Panca Wira Usaha Jawa Timur pada Harian Jawa Pos dan Tempo, serta untuk mengetahui perbedaan framing antara Harian Jawa Pos dan Tempo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data dokumentasi berita kasus Dahlan Iskan yang dimuat pada Harian Jawa Pos dan Tempo. Terhitung mulai tanggal 01 sampai dengan 22 April 2017. Dari penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan terdapat beberapa kesimpulan: (1) Harian Jawa Pos cenderung memposisikan Dahlan Iskan tidak bersalah dalam kasus pelepasan aset PT Panca Wira Usaha Jawa Timur. Sedangkan berita di Harian Tempo cenderung memposisikan Dahlan Iskan bersalah dalam pelepasan aset milik perusahaan Panca Wira Usaha Jawa Timur. (2). Terdapat perbedaan pembingkaian antara Harian Jawa Pos dan Tempo dalam menyajikan berita tentang kasus Dahlan Iskan terkait kasus pelepasan aset PWU Jawa Timur. Kata Kunci: Analisi Pembingkaian, Berita, Dahlan Iskan, Surat Kabar
