Abstract

argon is one of language varieties that is used based on some purposes. The languagevariety which is called jargon that is used in occupational or used for spesific purposes like in HRD(Human Resource Department) in five stars hotel, especially one of the hotel is The Lovina Bali whichlocated at Lovina, Singaraja north Bali. This study aimed at desacribing (1) the Jargons that are usedin the HRD at The Lovina Bali, (2) the forms of Jargons used among the HRD at The Lovina Bali, (3)the meaning of jargons used among the HRD at The Lovina Bali. The obtain data were indentify using3 instruments : (1) Checklist, (2) Interview Guide and (3) Tape Recording. This study conclude that :(1) There were 121 jargons used in Human Resource Department (HRD).

Abstract

This study is aimed at investigating English teachers' perception in using Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework in teaching and learning process at Senior High schools in Buleleng Sub District. This study applied an explanatory sequential mixed method design which used a questionnaire and interview guide as the instruments that had been tested for their validity and reliability. The data from the questionnaires were processed by using a Microsoft Office Excel to calculate the mean score in order to know the qualification level of each the dimension. The results of data analysis showed that most of the teachers had positive perceptions of using TPACK framework in teaching English at senior high schools. It was shown by the position of mean score in the high position of the interval with the mean score was 139.074.

Abstract

This synchronous study was designed in a descriptive qualitative form. This study was designed to describe the number of phonemes needed in the Tegallinggah dialect and its distribution. This study only supports segmental phonemes. Three informants from Tegallinggah Dialek were selected based on a set of predetermined standard requirements and criteria. Data was collected using two word lists namely: Swadesh and Nothofer. The data obtained were analyzed and collected descriptively. Tegallinggah Dialect has 44 phonemes and not all phonemes have a complete distribution (initial, middle and end positions). Phonemes can be played into: six vowels, nineteen consonants, five cluster consonants and 4 geminate, eight diphthongs.

Abstract

This study was aimed at identifying the language functions, analyzing the types of errors in and identifying the sources of errors committed by local guides in DanauTamblingan. This study was a descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were three local guides in DanauTamblingan. The data were collected through observation and interview. Interactive data analysis model was used to analyze the data. The results of this study show that 14 language functions namely advising, thanking, greeting, refusing, self-introduction, offering something, asking information, giving information, explaining something, giving suggestion, giving command, telling prohibition, apologizing, and saying goodbye. There were 4 types of error: omission, addition, misformation and misordering. The total number of errors were 579 which consisted of 365 errors or 63.0% in omission, 103 errors or 19.0% in addition, 93 errors or 15% in misformation and 18 errors or 3.0% in misordering.

Abstract

Indonesia is known for having low literacy skills. Students' literacy skills are low because schools do not provide enough media to help students' literacy skills, especially dictionaries. This study aims to develop a multilingual thematic illustrated dictionary to assist sixth-grade elementary school students' literacy. This has an impact on student learning outcomes are low. In developing the dictionary, this study applies the Design and Development (D&D) using four instruments to collect data: observation sheets, interview guides, questionnaires, and expert assessments. The subjects of this study were teachers and students from elementary schools in urban and rural areas in Buleleng Regency, North Bali. The results show that this dictionary is relevant to the eleven criteria of a good multilingual thematic illustrated dictionary. This dictionary is also categorized as an excellent medium of 10 themes with words and sentences in three languages and authentic pictures. Thus, multilingual thematic illustrated dictionaries are a helpful medium for students and teachers to develop literacy skills. This research implies that students in learning can use the developed dictionary.
