Abstract

The purpose of this research to determine which economic sectors are experiencing a shift in economic structure. Followed by studying and formulating the base sector and non base in the city of Tarakan Period 2002-2007. Then find out where the economic sectors that experienced rapid growth and have strong competitiveness in The City Of Tarakan Period 2002-2007. Analysis tool used is the Shift Share Analysis and analysis of Location Quotient (LQ). Based on the analysis, sector of electricity, gas and watersupply, service sector, construction sector, transportation and communications sector,the agricultural sector, and construction sector because it has a value of more than one LQ (LQ>1). While mining and quarrying sector , as well as the manufacturing industry is the non-base in Tarakan City because it has a smaller RI values than one (LQ<1). Key Words: Economic Structure Shift, Sector Base, Non Base

Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate toxicity of oil base mud (OBMs) use in oil drilling in various concentrationon marine living organism. Inorder to achieve the objectives of this study, acute toxicity tests were performed to clarified the median lethal concentration (LC50) of OBMs on tiger prawn (Peneaus monodon Fab.).The solid OMBs were obtained from oil drilling company and kept on cooling box under10oC. The toxicity test procedure used based on the standard methods for examination water or wastewater. The concentration of the test solutions were 10, 20, 35, 70, 135, 260,and 500 ppm. The 7000 post larvae (PL-25) of tiger prawn obtained from the PrawnHatchery and acclimatization for 10 days on amber aquariums before use for this toxicity test. Ten post larvae of tiger prawns each tank were used in four replicates on the sevenconcentrations of OBMs with one control. The lethal concentration LC50-96 using theprobit analysis.The mortality of prawn during the toxicity test for each concentration were 30%, 50%,60%, 70%, 80%, 100%, and 100% respectively and there was no mortality found on control. Using the Probit Method Analysis the lethal concentration value (LC50-96) of OBMs was 23,71 ppm. The LC50-96 was the concentration of the OBMs estimated to kill the post larvae of the tiger prawn exposed during 96 hours. Various symptoms and damages of were found on gill filaments, digestive organs, and hepatopancrease. Keywords: Oil Base Mud, Lethal Concentration (LC50-96), tiger prawn.

Abstract

The purpose of this work was to observe the effect the extracts of Piper betle Linn on the growth of bakteri. The work was conduted on September to October 2012.  The extract of Piper betle  Linnwas 20 ppt, 40 ppt, 60 ppt, and 80 ppt. The bacteria used was (Vibrio sp). Bacteria cultured on Tryptic Soy Agar (TSA). The growth bacteria observed on the media and data were analyzed statistically.The Results of this work showed the differences of concentration of extract of piper betle leaf affected the growth of bacteria. The growth of bacteria was lower on 80 ppt < 60 ppt < 40 ppt and 20 ppt respectively. The best concerntration the extract were between 80 ppt and 60 ppt base on the Ftest) and ttest (0.01 and 0.05).That the extract may  useful for fish preservation under cool condition.  Keyword : Piper betle leaf extract, bacteria

Abstract

The purpose of this research are to know tpe of soil pursuant to type of mangrove, to know correlation of soil to species composition distribution of mangrove.  Benefit of this research are to give information regarding how far plant of mangrove in region coastal area of Tarakan city can grow at certain substrat.  To government of Tarakan city as supporter information regarding readyly seed stok of mangrove needed to area of mangrove matching with place growing.  Equiping researchs which have there and as reference to researchers here in after to do research concerning mangrove.  The result of this research are distribution type of mangrove for Sonneratia sp in area of forest mangrove in Old Amal Beach 100% known to have type of soil dominant sand with its mean proportion of its, sandy 96,00%, silt 2,37%, clay 0,31%. Distribution of Rhizopora sp in area of forest mangrove Gusher 90,16% known to have type of soil dominant sandy clay with its mean proportion of its, sandy 87,03%, silt 10,8%, clay 2,09%.  Distribution of Bruguiera sp in area of forest mangrove Gusher 47,77% known to have type of soil dominant sand with its mean proportion of its, sandy 93,73%, silt 5,19%, clay 0,46%. Its correlation for the type of Avicennia sp, Sonneratia sp, and Bruguiera sp show happened relation but donot so sliver. While Rhizopora sp show happened relation so sliver. Keywords : Soil, distribution type of mangrove, Correlation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini difokuskan pada laju perkembangan rigor mortis secara fisik, yaitu dengan mengukur kelenturan fisik ikan selama masa penyimpanan.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 6 (enam) bulan, mulai dari bulan Juni 2012 sampai dengan bulan Desember 2012. Pengambilan sampel dilaksanakan setiap 14 hari.  Sebanyak 5 -7 ekor setiap jenisnya diperoleh langsung dari nelayan belat. Ikan yang akan digunakan harus dalam keadaan hidup. Ikan-ikan tersebut diaklimatisasi dalam bak-bak penampungan. Sampel ikan yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini dibius dengan MS-222 sebelum dimatikan. Tujuannya agar tidak menggelepar, Ada tiga fenomena rigor mortis yang ditemukan pada penelitian ini, yaitu tingkat perkembangan rigor mortis, laju perkembangan rigor mortis dan pola perkembangan rigor mortis.  Tingkat perkembangan rigor mortis sangat bervariasi baik pada species ikan yang sama maupun pada species yang berbeda. Namun dalam penelitian ini tidak ditemukan pola perkembangan rigor mortis yang berbeda, baik antar species maupun antar individu ikan yang dijadikan sampel dalam penelitian ini. Kata kunci : rigor mortis, jenis ikan
