Abstract

Reference service is necessary especially in research activity which is appropriate with the reference collection charachteristic. Reference collection service in IAIN Purwokerto Library needs a scientific discourse to know the extent of its utilization. So it can be formulated that the problem statement is how the utilization of reference collection in IAIN Purwokerto Library. This research is start from April to August in 2016 for five mounths. The research is using quantitative approach that the presentation is performed in numeral form. Population is determained from the quantity of the reference collection users in one mounth, with 10% of sample. Data collecting technique is using observation, questionnaire, docomentation and interview. The result showed that the interest of the library user to the reference collection is high at 86,79%. The most intresting collection is comperhensive paper materials (43,40%), and there was 41,51% who use the librarian service in using reference collection. Some of library visitor pruposed to increase the number of comperhensive materials collection either english books or arabian books, collection that is relevance with academical needs, and improving the quality of services such as the amiability of the librarian, the arrangement of shelves, and the comfort of the room.

Abstract

Layanan bookless IAIN Purwokerto merupakan layanan berbasis digital yang dapat diakses melalui komputer, smartphone, tablet dan notebook yang diharapkan mampu mempermudah dan mempercepat akses pemustaka terhadap buku dan koleksi rujukan. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menjajagi sejauh mana pemustaka mengenal, memanfaatkan dan mengevaluasi kelemahan kelebihan layanan bookless. Kajian ini merupakan penelitian survey dengan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh pemustaka yang terdaftar sebagai anggota aktif perpustakaan IAIN Purwokerto sebanyak 5.779 orang, sampelnya sebanyak 60 responden dan teknik pengambilan sampelnya menggunakan accidental sample. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan observasi, dokumentasi dan angket dengan pertanyaan tertutup dan terbuka. Data dianalisa menggunakan statistik deskriptif . Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pemustaka yang sudah mengenal adanya layanan bookless 45%, pemustaka yang sudah menggunakan layanan bookless 16,66%, konten yang dianggap sangat diperlukan adalah menu e-book, kelebihan utama layanan bokless dapat diakses melalui smartphone/tablet/notebook pribadi, dan kelemahan utama layanan bookless hanya dapat diakses disekitar perpustakaan IAIN Purwokerto.

Abstract

Library promotion is a must for the information marketing. Even more if the library has new service such as bookless library service in the library of IAIN Purwokerto. This research uses qualitative research aproach, and the data accumulating tecnique is by using observation, interview and documentation. The result of this research is there are so many users who didn’t know about bookless library service in IAIN Purwokerto. It can be concluded that promotion media of library services should be using various kind of promtion media. after the user got the explanation, they knew and agreed that the bookless service in the library is useful in helping their study in IAIN purwokerto, and this user perception got apreciation from the head of IAIN Purwokerto Library. Users sugested that the promotion media that will be used, such as; broadside of bookless service user manual, throuh the explanation about the importance of bookless service from student cordinators to every class room, and more guidance banners in the library. This research needs the subsequence studies to develop the other media and it’s evaluation.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini membahas tentang dukungan orangtua dalam membangun literasi anak, dengan mengambil kasus siswa kelas 3 dan 4 MI Muhammadiyah Gandatapa, Kecamatan Sumbang Kabupaten Banyumas. Literasi yang secara sederhana diartikan keberaksaraan atau melek, yang mana kemampuan literasi ini sangat penting untuk dikuasai anak. Kementerian pendidikan dan kebudayaan telah meluncurkan program gerakan literasi sekolah pada tahun 2015 yang lalu, tak lain untuk menumbuhkan minat baca anak-anak Indonesia. Pelibatan publik/masyarakat sangat diperlukan untuk mensukseskan program ini. Dengan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif, rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah bagaimana dukungan orang tua dalam membangun literasi anak di MI Muhammadiyah Gandatapa? Dari penelitian ini diketahui bahwa: mayoritas anak-anak menyukai cerita/dongeng, jenis cerita yang disukai adalah legenda, fabel, siroh nabawi dan IPTEK. Semua anak mengetahui kalau membaca itu penting. Sebagian orang tua memberikan cerita/ dongeng dan menyediakan buku bacaan dirumah, semua orang tua memberikan dukungan dengan menyuruh anaknya membaca dan sebagian orang tua mendampingi anaknya membaca. Semua orang tua pernah memberikan hadiah kepada anak, dan sebagian besar belum pernah memberikan hadiah berupa buku bacaan. Kata kunci: Literasi, Membaca, Cerita, Dukungan orang tua. Abstract. This paper discuss about parental support on building child literacy, based on case study of students year 3 4 MI Gandatapa, Sumbang Districk, Banyumas Regency. Literacy, simply put as ability to write and read, is vital to be mastered. The Ministry of Education and Culture had realeased school literacy movement program in 2015, aimed to boost Indonesian children reading interest. Public involvement is required to success this program. This research uses descriptive quantitative approach. The problem in question is how is parents support in building studenys literacy in MI Muh Gandatapa. The research discover that students were interested in story, i.e. legends, fable, Siroh Nabawi (Prophets biography), and science technology. All students understood the importance of reading. Some parents told stories and provided reading material in home, all parents gave support by ordering them to read and some accompanied the activity. All parents had given gift to the student, and more than half have not given reading books.  Keywords: Literacy, Reading, Storytelling, Support Parents

Abstract

University library accreditation is a need. It acts as quality assurance of the library and supports the university development. The accreditation covers nine components, i.e.; Service, Cooperation, Collection, Material Organization, Human Resources, Physical Supports, Funding, Library Management, and Library Collection Maintenance. Service holds highest mark among them, that is 20 out of 100% by 12 key indicators under service aspects. This research assesses to what extent is IAIN Purwokerto able to prepare library accreditation based on service analysis. Employed quantitave-descriptive approach of library assesment based on standart of university library, the result projects that IAIN Purwokerto is able to get 39 out of 60 points. Even though, it has potency to get 52 points under service assessment. This potency could come from daily opening, weekly opening, members percentage over total students, member percentage over lecturers and university staff, promotion varieties, yearly promotion event, and literacy-information activity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of user satisfaction on the self-loan services in the Library of IAIN Purwokerto. The methodology applies  a descriptive quantitative approach on the population of active visitors. The monthly mean visitors in 2018 is 9,810 people. The sampling technique uses Slovin formula with 10% sampling error of 100 respondents. Data is collected through methods of observation, questionnaire and documentation. Results indicate users satisfaction on each variables are scored at 3.03 on facilities, 3.12 on officers services, and 3.14 on the access, all out of 4 digit scores. The overall mean score 3.10 indicates a good user satisfactory level. The feedback from respondents includes needs on additional computers, library collections (books) placed on shelf a match  numerical classification, and an increase in the number of circulatory books.

Abstract

The information retrieval services is a service that interests university library users. There is a significant increase of students completing their thesis using searching services during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to find factors in the utilization of research searching services. It is Using a quantitative approach with exploratory factor analysis (EFA). The study population was 376 students who submitted searching services during the pandemic (March-December 2020),using Slovin formula  get a sample 82 respondents. The primary data source from the questionnaire. The results showed that only one (1) factor for the variable use of research searching services, with seven (7) statements:  P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, and P7, but, the P8 idea is not continued for analysis because the results of the commonalities test showed that the extraction value is less than 0.5. The conclusion is the factor variables that influence IAIN Purwokerto students to use the searching service have no dimension (there is only one factor) that is factors for completing thesis, indicators of these factors are seven statements: requires an example of a thesis; enriches material for a thesis; knows how to describe the background; looks for the right theory; gets an appropriate research method; knows how I should explain the discussion; and knows how to conclude the results of a research.

Abstract

Layanan perpustakaan menjadi lebih banyak online ketika pandemi covid19. Diperlukan promosi layanan agar pemustaka dapat memanfaatkannya. Promosi melalui website dan media sosial telah dilakukan perpustakaan, karena masih banyak pemustaka yang menanyakan perihal layanan maka diperlukan promosi melalui webinar. Tujuannya untuk menguji perbedaan antara pengetahuan pemustaka yang mengikuti webinar promosi layanan online dan yang tidak. Menggunakan Pendekatan kuantitatif dengan uji Mann-whitney untuk penilaian dua sampel yang tidak berpasangan (Independent) dengan data non-parametrik. Populasi pemustaka Perpustakaan IAIN Purwokerto dengan sampel pemustaka yang mengisi kuesioner. Nilai uji Mann-Whitney Asym.Sig. 0,006  menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pengetahuan antara pemustaka yang mengikuti webinar dan tidak Pemustaka yang menerima informasi layanan melalui webinar lebih memahami bagaimana menggunakan/memanfaatkan layanan perpustakaan IAIN Purwokerto. Pemasaran layanan perpustakaan melalui webinar lebih efektif daripada hanya mengunggah informasi melalui media promosi di media sosial maupun website resmi perpustakaan. Perpustakaan perguruan tinggi dengan banyak layanan online sebaiknya melengkapi promosinya dengan melakukan sosialisasi melalui webinar.
