Abstract

Abstract: The rapid development of technology has accelerated the adaptation to the use of technology. Especially the use of technology on social media that affects family communication, namely on behavior change. The impact depends on the selective exposure (duration and frequency). Mothers often experience commodification and are identified with groups that are not well literate in the use of social media. So that raises the hypothesis of the effect of selective exposure on mothers on their children's anti-social behavior. This quantitative descriptive study uses a quasi-experimental method by providing initial insights to respondents. As many as 82 respondents of mothers in Malang Raya were involved in this study with the criteria of productive age, have children aged 5-12 years and have used social media for about 3 years. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling because it refers to the above criteria. This study conducted a test of reliability and validity, while in data analysis using linear regression and t test. The results of this study indicate that mothers are positioned under the control of technology which brings a trickle effect so that it can create a negative effect on children. Selective social media exposure to mothers has a significant effect 56,7% and correlation 1,568. Anti-social behavior is generated in form of refusal to interact with environment, aggressive, impulsive, quiet and has no regrets making mistakes. Keywords: selective exposure; social media; mother; anti-social; children Abstrak: Perkembangan teknologi yang cepat menyebabkan percepatan adaptasi atas penggunaan teknologi. Terutama pemanfaatan teknologi pada media sosial yang berpengaruh terhadap komunikasi keluarga yakni pada perubahan perilaku. Dampak yang ditimbulkan bergantung pada selective exposure (durasi dan frekuansi). Ibu sering mengalami komodifikasi dan diidentikan dengan golongan yang tidak terliterasi dengan baik dalam penggunaan media sosial. Sehingga memunculkan hipotesis adanya pengaruh selective exposure pada ibu terhadap perilaku anti sosial anaknya. Penelitian dekriptif kuantitatif ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan memberikan wawasan awal kepada responden. Sebanyak 82 responden ibu di Malang Raya terlibat dalam penelitian ini dengan kriteria usia produktif, memiliki anak usia 5-12 tahun dan telah menggunakan media sosial kurang lebih 3 tahun. Teknik sampling menggunakan purposive sampling karena merujuk pada kriteria di atas. Penelitian ini melakukan uji reliabilitas dan validitas, sedangkan dalam analisis data menggunakan regresi linier dan uji t. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ibu diposisikan di bawah kendali teknologi yang membawa trickle effect sehingga mampu menciptakan pengaruh negatif terhadap anak. Selective exposure media sosial pada ibu berpengaruh signifikan sebesar 56,7% dengan korelasi sebesar 1,568. Perilaku anti sosial yang ditimbulkan berupa penolakan berinteraksi dengan lingkungan, agresif, impulsif, pendiam serta tidak memiliki penyesalan ketika berbuat kesalahan. Abstract

Media baru, selain memiliki kelebihan dalam menembus ruang dan waktu, juga menyediakan konten hiburan dan informasi secara beragam. Hal ini menggambarkan bahwa media baru terutama Youtube memberikan fungsi hiburan dan informatif kepada audiens. Termasuk pemanfaatan Youtube dalam mengakses video musik memberikan kemudahan bahkan dapat membentuk persepsi audiens. Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada kasus video musik Lathi yang memiliki unsur teknologi dan konten mistis terhadap persepsi audiens. Melalui metode kuantitatif kuasi-eksperimen, penelitian ini melibatkan 99 responden di Malang Raya. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyebutkan bahwa ada pengaruh kuat teknologi dan konten mistis terhadap pembentukan persepsi audiens. Beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi terbentuknya persepsi adalah kualitas video musik, konten mistis, pemanfaatan teknologi serta pesan yang dengan mudah dapat dipahami oleh audiens. Abstract

This study discusses the relationship of media exposure to HIV and AIDS IEC (leafflet and stickers) to the level of knowledge of female sex workers in Malang Regency Suko localization. Media IEC is media Information, Education, Communication and leaflet and stickers that are health communication media has been running from 2006 to the present. Media leaflet and stickers is a health communications media that shape and change the knowledge of female sex workers.IEC media exposure and stickers leaflet measured from the frequency and duration of female sex workers in using the media. To measure knowledge of causes, symptoms or signs, treatments, modes of transmission and prevention of HIV and AIDS. The indicators in terms of content and the physical media IEC leaflet and stickers. This study classified as quantitative studies that measure the correlation of the independent variable exposure to media IEC (leaflet and stickers) with the independent variable is the level of knowledge. To determine the relationship between them, this study used the instrument in the form of a questionnaire distributed to 90 female sex workers in the localization Suko. It also uses techniques of data analysis techniques Spearman Rank correlation because not distributed normally. This study proves the existence of a significant correlation between media exposure to HIV and AIDS IEC (leaflet and stickers) with the level of knowledge of female sex workers in Malang Regency Suko localization. Correlations that occur in this study is a positive correlation in which the low correlation coefficient value (p) of +0.362. The coefficient of determination (contribution) in this study is 13.7%. Abstract

Abstract Media panics is an expression of panic in using media, it is a study of media effects. In the era of the corona pandemic, news about developments in social conditions, especially related to the increasing number of people who have contracted Covid-19 in Indonesia, has triggered panic media use. This study used a descriptive quantitative method by analyzing one variable, namely media panics of housewives after consuming news related to Covid-19. Respondents involved a number of 244 housewives in Indonesia. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with descriptive analysis method. The results of this study prove that many housewives consume Covid-19 news, especially topics related to the increasing number of sufferers and the easy spread. Abstract

Studies emphasize that collaboration remains an essential part of learning and working in the 21st century. This study seeks to report on the group collaboration of higher education students. Using Explanatory sequential mixed method design, this study tried to discuss the students’ experiences and challenges on group collaboration environment in the online learning cases. Adopting  Razmerita and Kirchner's (2014) questionnaire, 287 students involved in this study. The result indicated that overall students performed positive perception on group collaboration. In addition, to have deep analysis, 15 students were interviewed. This study contributes to an understanding of how students perceived collaboration and how they explain the obstacles recognized in their classes.DOI: 10.26905/enjourme.v6i2.6971

Abstract

The failure of academic supervision in various areas is more dominant due to inappropriate scheduling. In addition, the awareness of the importance of implementing academic supervision is also an inhibiting factor in the implementation of supervision. The era of media technology is a challenge for educational institutions from elementary to high levels. The problems that arise are related to the habit of teaching and learning processes based on communication technology. An interesting phenomenon is that Central Java ranks third in having the most madrasas in Indonesia. So it is necessary to know the mechanism for the implementation and evaluation of academic supervision. The challenge of providing supervision in the era of communication technology is seen from three points of view, namely intensity, quality, degree of relevance associated with teacher performance in madrasah. The research method used is mixed research by relying on the strength of the description that comes from the informant. And also involve respondents to explore quantitative data. The informants involved were 5 school principals and supervisors. Meanwhile, there are 190 madrasah teachers in Central Java. Data obtained from interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis used the Milles and Huberman pattern. The results of this study explain that the intensity, quality and degree of relevance of educational supervision are in the average category. This condition is able to improve the performance of madrasah teachers in Central Java. The teachers support online supervision and the method preferences tend to be CCTV, virtual and fingerprint.

Abstract

The use of Social Media has become pervasive. As an educator, this might facilitate the learning experiences, especially for second language learning. Bring that issues, this study intended to delve into students' perception regarding their experience in using mobile-assisted language learning (MALL) tools especially Instagram for speaking activity in English for Specific Purposes class. Besides, this study also explored students' opinions regarding the use of Instagram for language learning purposes. Two sets of questionnaires were distributed and analyzed. The result indicated that the participants expressed a positive perception of the use of Instagram for learning language purposes. The finding revealed that, among the participants, Instagram is the most popular social media. The positive students’ perception is that learning through Instagram is effective because it provides a new way of learning language and it accelerates interactive vocabulary enrichment.  DOI: 10.26905/enjourme.v5i2.5202

Abstract

Abstract Television is a mainstream media that is able to survive amid the crush of media on line. Television developments occur until in the area, giving rise to local television. Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) has set up procedures local television aired on the Broadcasting Law No. 32/2012 and P3 SPS. Where local television has a role to develop the potential of the region. This study focused on the potential and promotional messages of Culture and Tourism (Dikbudpar) Malang. It also dug local television perspective in understanding the local content, which will be the two concepts will be used as a reference for designing the concept of local content on local television to develop culinary wosata Malamg. The method in this study is qualitative. To get the data researchers are working with informants from Dikbudpar Malang and local television in Malang. The data is then analyzed using interactive model of Miles and Huberman and domain analysis Spradley. Abstract

The global challenge in preserving local wisdom is be in the event of social adjustment to technology adoption. Communities and groups can accelerate the use of technology to preserve local wisdom. Jatiguwi, through Jurang Toleh Park, has become a pilot project in digitally empowering communities to carry out local wisdom and improve the economy of rural communities. This study used a qualitative descriptive method involving four informants based on the following criteria: involvement village activities, actively participating village activities, and being involved village tourism activities. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, data analysis technique used Miles and Huberman's analysis. This research emphasizes on digital empowerment efforts for the community to preserve local wisdom and strengthen the village economy. The result of this research is that the success of digital empowerment starts with digital understanding by the community. Then involvement in developing tourism potential, visitor management of tourism and tourism promotion. Abstract

Globalization is the massive, systematic spread of American culture and its lifestyle throughout the world. The lifestyle of consuming fast food is constructe as a modern, current and global lifestyle through regulatory and deep capture with the sophistication of advertising propagated through communication media. Propaganda messages through communication media make cultural colonization by homogenizing food tastes in the world, so delegitimizes and distorts local food prestige. People no longer see traditional food as cultural identity. This study examines the effectiveness of YouTuber Carlos in popularizing traditional foods to foreign countries. The qualitative descriptive approach with observation, document and literatures reviews and interviews with informants. This study finds that Nex Carlos' Youtube account functions effectively in globalizing local food with well interactive communication and intimate emotional bonds. Para social interaction makes viewers to see food vlogger as role model, counselor, and entertained which eventually leads to recommended adoption. As a cultural product, local culinary consumption been seen as a counterculture to the incessant global fast food propaganda. Social learning about ecological, social and political awareness on food stock availability dubbed as food pedagogy needs to be on the next important agenda for guaranteeing the food sustainability. Keywords: Food Vlogger, Globalization, Homogenization, Para Social Interaction, Pedagogy of Food
