Abstract

Abstract: The aims of this study were to: (1) produce a learning device in STAD cooperative learning model with a portfolio that was good for the subject of algebra in seventh grade junior high school, (2) know the effectiveness of cooperative learning of STAD type with portfolio assessment when it is viewed from early ability. This research was a kind of research and development. The development procedure used in this study was the development of a learning device according Thiagarajan et al, which was consisted of four stages: define, design, development, and disseminate. In disseminate stage, the experiment was conducted with portfolio assessment. Experiments conducted on the two junior high schools, they were Muhammadiyah Yanggong junior high school and Muhammadiyah Jenangan junior high school. Based on the inferential analysis, it showed that (1) the learning outcomes of students who were taught mathematics STAD cooperative learning with portfolio assessment was better than the mathematics learning outcomes of students who were taught STAD cooperative learning on the subject of algebra, (2) students who had high early ability had better performance than who had low early ability, (3) in the high ability, the students who were taught by using STAD cooperative learning model with portfolio assessment had better learning achievement than the students who were taught by using STAD cooperative model STAD without portfolio assessment, (4) in the low early ability, the students who were taught using STAD cooperative learning model with portfolio assessment had the same performance with STAD cooperative learning model without portfolio assessment, (5) the students who were taught by the STAD cooperative learning without portfolio assessment, students who had high early ability had better performance than who had low early ability, and (6) the students who were taught by using STAD cooperative learning model with portfolio assessment, the students who had high early ability had better performance than the students who had early ability.Key words: Cooperative STAD, Portfolio Assessment, Early ability

Abstract

This research aims at describing students? statistical reasoning in graphics statistics representation related to distribution. The subjects of this research were students of semester IV of Program of Study Mathematics Education of Muhammadiyah University Ponorogo who have taken a basic statistics course. These subjects were chosen because they have taken a course related to descriptive statistics which discusses graphics representation and data distribution. The data collection technique used essay test related to graphics representation. In addition, an interview was also conducted to confirm students? answer. This research finding shows that statistical reasoning of semester IV students of Mathematics Education whose statistics ability is poor belong to pre-structural level and whose statistics ability is high belong to multi-structural and relational level. The high skilled students could conclude the data with statistical reason even though they used informal terms. Students with multi-structural and relational level regard that variety is a standard showing the numbers of different data among others, not on the different value from the average. Students with relational reasoning level were able to generate graphics concluding by connecting the central tendency and distribution scale.

Abstract

Abstract During the current Covid-19 pandemic, this presents a special challenge for the world of education. Learning must be carried out, so online learning is carried out. Teachers must design effective learning for students. Besides, an effective online learning assessment must also be considered, because it is used as an evaluation of further learning. This paper hopes to provide additional information about alternative learning assessments during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is a literature review. Researchers collect, process, and conclude data (information) from various relevant sources. The results of this study are that QUIZIZZ can be used as an alternative assessment of learning, especially mathematics learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. QUIZIZZ is attractively designed and not monotonous, and based on games. QUIZIZZ is an online application that makes it easy and summarizes for teachers in effective learning assessments. Abstrak Pada masa pandemi Covid-19 sekarang ini, memberikan tantangan khususnya bagi dunia pendidikan. Pembelajaran harus tetap dilaksanakan, sehingga dilakukanlah pembelajaran daring. Guru harus mendesain pembelajaran yang efektif bagi siswa. Selain itu, penilaian pembelajaran daring yang efektif juga harus diperhatikan, karena digunakan sebagai evaluasi pembelajaran selanjutnya. Harapan dari tulisan ini adalah sebagai tambahan informasi mengenai alternatif penilaian pembelajaran di masa pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kajian pustaka. Peneliti mengumpulkan, mengolah, dan menyimpulkan data (informasi) dari berbagai sumber yang relevan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah QUIZIZZ dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif penilaian pembelajaran khususnya pembelajaran matematika di masa pandemi Covid-19 ini. Abstract

This research aimed to develop geogebra learning media based on statistical reasoning. For the purpose of this research and development, ADDIE model by Dick & Carry was used. This research and development produced geogebra learning media based on statistical reasoning for junior high school students. Class environment that applies technology based on statistical reasoning is another variable besides genetic which is adaptive. The integration of new technologies for education is no longer an alternative; it has become an obligation and even guidance to develop these knowledge-sided. Through geogebra, students are directed to build their knowledge not just to memorize rules. The class that applies technology based on this statistical reasoning will develop students’ intelligence

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan representasi visual siswa dengan gaya belajar VAK. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskritif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di rumah siswa tepatnya dijalan Godang No.42,kelurahan Patihan Kidul, kecamatan Siman, kabupatenPonorogo dan sebagian di  PPTQ Al Hasan tepatnya di jalan Parang Menang No.22, kelurahan Patihan Wetan, kecamatan Babadan, kabupaten Ponorogo. Cara pemilihan subjek yaitu pertama diberikan angket kepada 21 siswa kelas V dan kelas VI kemudian digolongkan sesuai dengan masing-masing gaya belajarnya. Setelah itu dipilih 5 siswa dari masing-masing gaya belajar kemudian siswa tersebut diberikan soal tes, kemampuan representasi visual. Setelah diberikan soal, kemudian diambil 2 orang siswa untuk dijadikan subjek penelitian dengan ketentuan memiliki komunikasi yang baik. Selanjutnya dilakukan wawancara untuk menggali informasi lebih dalam terkait hasil jawaban siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa representasi visual dominan dimiliki oleh siswa dengan gaya belajar visual. Siswa mampu menyampaikan idenya dengan menggunakan gambar misalnya histogram, diagram garis dan tabel. Dalam pengerjaannya siswa teliti dan detail pada pemberian judul serta identitas-identitas gambar. Representasi visual siswa dengan gaya belajar auditorial cenderung kurang teliti dalam menggambar histogram, diagram garis dan tabel. Siswa dengan gaya belajar ini sering lalai dalam memberikan judul dan identitas-identitas pada gambar. Representasi visual siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik cenderung menggunakan kata-kata mengandung tindakan/aksi dalam menyelesaikan suatu masalah yang seharusnya menggunakan tabel atau diagram. Sebagai contoh siswa dengan gaya belajar ini sering menggunakan kata membuat, sangat dan menurut.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the implementation of Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) cooperative learning assisted by Scaffolding techniques. This study is also to determine students' mathematical communication skills and student learning outcomes after the implementation of Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) cooperative learning assisted by Scaffolding techniques. This research was conducted in class VIIIC of SMPN 1 Siman at 2019/2020 academic year. The Classroom Action Research (CAR) design was carried out in 2 cycles, in which the data collection instruments were in the form of test questions and observation sheets. Based on the findings, there is an improvement in student learning outcomes from cycle 1 and cycle 2 after applying Two Stay Two Stray learning (TSTS) assisted by scaffolding techniques. Furthermore, the communication skills of students are also increased. Some points that must be considered in implementating this learning procedures are firstly, teachers must pay attention to the allocation of time provided for each step of learning in accordance with the Learning Implementation Plan. Secondly, the teacher must optimize his role as a facilitator in cooperative learning type Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) through various scaffolding techniques. Some of the techniques given here can be adapted to other learning models and materials. The teacher needs to be more selective in choosing the right technique for optimalizing learning.

Abstract

[Bahasa]: Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini (PKM) adalah memberikan keterampilan terkait dengan kemampuan aritmetika sederhana pada mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo khususnya pada Operasi Aljabar (Penjumlahan dan Pengurangan). Keterampilan ini termasuk di luar kompetensi utama yang mendukung keilmuan. Dengan adanya kegiatan ini diharapkan dalam implementasinya, mahasiswa mampu bersaing dengan lulusan dari Perguruan Tinggi lain. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan untuk (1) mempersiapkan dan membekali para calon pendidik khususnya mahasiswa program studi matematika Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo Semester VI dan Semester VIII dalam hal berhitung cepat, (2) memberikan motivasi pada mahasiswa untuk memiliki keterampilan lain yang mendukung keilmuan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan melalui kegiatan pelatihan keterampilan berhitung dengan menggunakan jarimatika. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan ini dapat membangkitkan motivasi dan membekali mahasiswa dengan keterampilan lain yang mendukung keilmuannya. Dari 30 mahasiswa yang mengikuti kegiatan PKM, sebanyak 50% berpendapat bahwa model berhitung ini sangat mudah diterapkan, 30% menyatakan mudah diterapkan, dan sisanya menyatakan cukup mudah diterapkan. Selain itu, 53% dari 30 peserta sangat paham terhadap konsep berhitung menggunakan jarimatika, 27% dari 30 peserta menyatakan paham, 17% menyatakan cukup paham dan 3% menyatakan sulit. Kata kunci: optimalisasi keterampilan, berhitung matematika, jarimatika [English]: The purpose of this community service program is to provide students with simple arithmetic skills in the Mathematics Education Study Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo, especially in Algebra Operations (addition and subtraction) which include as the supporting competencies. This program is expected to prepare students for competing with graduates from other tertiary institutions. It was carried out to (1) prepare and equip prospective mathematics teachers in terms of fast counting, (2) provide motivation for students to have other skills that support their main competences. The program was in the form of numeracy skills training using Jarimatika. Of the 30 students who took part; 50% of the students agreed that the numeracy model is very easy to implement, 30% said it was easy to apply, and the rest stated it was quite easy to apply. In addition, 53% of the 30 participants understood the concept of arithmetic using Jarimatika, 27% expressed understanding, 17% stated that they understood well, and 3% stated that it was difficult. Abstract

Kebutuhan dalam pendampingan siswa SD perlu ekstra kerja keras terutama bagi guru pengajar. Maksudnya adalah pendampingan dalam pengasahan kemampuan siswa SD. Guru Siswa SDN Panjeng dan MI Muhammadiyah Sidoharjo Pulung belum mampu mengakomodasi kemampuan siswanya dengan lebih. Sementara ini, pendampingan yang dilakukan adalah pendampingan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman matematika. Dengan demikian, pihak sekolah membutuhkan pendampingan lebih dari pihak luar agar dapat meningkatkan atau optimalisasi kemampuan siswanya seperti kemampuan problem solving. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dikemas dalam bentuk pendampingan berbasis masyarakat. Peserta pengabdian ini adalah siswa SDN Panjeng dan MI Muhammadiyah Sidoharjo Pulung. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat bertujuan untuk mengoptimalisasi dan meningkatkan kemampuan lebih, yaitu kemampuan problem solving pada soal olimpiade matematika dalam bentuk pendampingan yang berbasis masyarakat.

Abstract

Mathematical representation is the center of mathematics learning. However, is the student's ability to interpret the form of representation good? In this study, we adapted multiple choice questions from the LOCUS assessment to describe how 30 semesters III students interpreted the bar chart and box plot. The students answered this multiple choice question by including the reasons. The results showed that 50% of the 30 students gave correct responses regarding the boxplot. These fifteen students stated that the box plot cannot be used to calculate a lot of data. However, these 15 students were unable to come up with reasons why the box plot could not be used to calculate a lot of data. The remaining 50% of students stated that other diagrams such as scatter plots, histograms and bar charts cannot be used to calculate a lot of data, but box plots can be used to calculate the amount of data. As many as 40% of students are not able to distinguish a bar chart from a histogram. They assumed that qualitative data could be described using a histogram instead of a bar chart. The results of this study are explained by the dual-process theory.
