The development of technology-based teaching materials is currently very necessary. Teachers must be creative and innovative in developing teaching materials, especially technology-based teaching in sciens lerarning. This research aims to determine students' needs in receiving technology-based teaching. This research is development research, where in this initial research only needs analysis was used as the basis for the development stages of the 4D model. This research was conducted at SD Negeri 3 Karangwuni in October with fifth grade students. Based on the results of the distribution of the questionnaire, data obtained from 100% of teacher responses and 100% of student responses agreed to develop Canva-based Interactive Multimedia Learning teaching materials on the properties of light. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that it is necessary to develop technology-based teaching materials to support the learning process.
