Abstract

This study investigates and predicts the learners difficulties in using those question word : what, when, where, why, who, whose, whose, whose, which and how through out the pictures ol‘ somebody. Most new beginners of English language hope to speak the language they learn as soon as they can, without considering over about the langauge grammar, particularly in applying those question words."teachers can, of course, conduct many distinguish teaching medias or tools in order to improve the learners progress in learning a langauge. Mistakes notmanlly takes place when beginners learn, especially a new a language let alone when they try to speak, the slip 01° the tounge commonly happens. Beginners sometimes misused questions words, since they have some diftlerences and similarities in theirLl and in L2, especially What, Where, When due to having misleading about Question Words. The researcher found out that by using the pictures oi’ somebody, as a teaching media. The researcher strongly believes that the picture of somebody can minimize the mistakes and improve their speaking skills in terms of using question Words. Question words are used to ask about specilic qualities, times, places, people, etc. For example, when we look at the picture of somebody on TV, in Newspapers, and at some other certain places, then we suddenly can ask about the picture of that person.

Abstract

This study is aim to demonstrate how attractive and interesting it is to leam English by using “Premium SpeakingCards”. Since English has become a global language, so there are huge number of people worldwide tend toacquire it. One strange statement is that “Do not study the language but speak with the language”. Then criticsarise, how can a learner speak a language without having any talent? One can say anything in a certain language,but the question is do the language experts understand what he is saying? In fact that there are huge number ofteaching methods that teachers can apply, but how effective, interesting it is and how long it will take the learnersto acquire it. Effective strategies serve to regulate emotions, motivation, and attitudes e. g. strategies for reductionof anxiety and for self-encouragement. And the last is that strategy is called social strategies which include theactions which learners choose to take in order to interact with other learners with proficient second -languagespeakers (Willy and George M Jacobs, 1998; p.6.). The researcher found that this Premium Speaking Cards canencourage the learners become more active, more creative and more aggressive in developing and delivering theirspeaking skills and they become more active in possessing English as a foreign language. This is the reason whythis Premium Speaking Cards must be conducted so both teachers and leamers can be more active, more creativeand more constructive, more productive in learning and mastering English.Keywords - mastering; active; creative; aggressive; premium speaking cards

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to investigate and improve the learners' mistakes in applying question words; what, when, where, why, who, whose, whont, which and how through the pictures of a gient buildings. Most new leaners expect to spcak the languagc they learrh as soon as they can, without thinking over about thc langauge grammar, particularly in applying those question words. The researcher found out that by using the pictures of giant buildings, as a teaching media. Ile strongly believes that the picture of giant building can minimize the mistakes and improve their speaking skills in terms of using question words. Question words are used to ask about specific qualities, times, places, people, etc. When the researcher traveled to some big cities in the world hc found that some people asked about those huge building. Perhaps they have never seen such a tall buildings in their cities. The questions that the researcher found such as; Hmv is this huilding?. How many levels are they?. Who huilt this building?. What are this building for?.When HYlN this building built?. Who designed it? This is the very rcason why the researcher is interestcd in conducting this study, besides, the learners feel fun and enjoy learning. lt is expected that this study can be significant for those learners in mastering English. Abstract

ABSTRACTAs we probably know that there so many teaching strategies applied by thoseEnglish teachers But in reality there still many leaners ( adults ) find thatthe are good enough some are very good, but some are not very interestingthat make adult learners feel bored in mastering this universal Englishga. Be all agree that all foreign teaching strategies are relevant to those foreign But there is no guarantee that those foreign ones can help local adultlearners enjoy learning in order to master the knowledge of Eniglish.her hasbeen conducting these metacognitive of teaching English speakingquite many years. He finds that there are some positive advantages that adult can obtain and apply them in learning English. Adult learners in this case is who graduate from high school levels and they are not majoring in English.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari program implementasi implementasi Kartu Indonesia Pintar (KIP) dalam rangka peningkatan kualitas pendidikan di SMA Negeri 1 Tanjungbalai.Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan analisis kualitatif yang membahas masalah yang diselidiki dengan pengamatan masalah penelitian pada saat sekarang berdasarkan fakta-fakta yang dapat dilihat atau ditampilkan.Hasil Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Program Kartu Indonesia Pintar (KIP) di SMA Negeri 1 Tanjungbalai belum berjalan dengan efektif, karena masih banyak siswa yang tidak mendapat Kartu Indonesia Pintar, dapat berpartisipasi dalam penyaluran dana, membuat program tidak berjalan dengan cepat, dan juga mempercepatnya bank penyalur menyebabkan penyaluran dana Kartu Indonesia Pintar (KIP) terbengkalai. Selain itu, program peningkatan keberhasilan Kartu Indonesia Pintar telah berjalan dengan baik sehingga siswa dapat mengembangkan potensi mereka dalam belajar untuk meningkatkan kualitas penddikan

Abstract

The study discusses about An Analysis of Teacher's Method in Teaching Reading Comprehension Through Online Learning. The objectives of this study were to: (1) to find out the teacher's methods in teaching reading comprehension through online learning at SMP Muhammadiyah 57 Medan, (2) to describe the teacher's methods in teaching reading comprehension through online learning at SMP Muhammadiyah 57 Medan. This study applied a descriptive qualitative method to analyze the data. The source of the data was obtained from English teacher in SMP Muhammadiyah 57 Medan. The data was taken 2 English teacher who teach in seventh, eighth, and nineth grade, to find what is method in teaching reading comprehension through online learning used. Data was accumulated by the use of questionnaire and interview, even as observation became used to verify how the teachers put into effect the methods in the course of their teaching and getting to know process via online studying. There were found out the methods used in teaching reading comprehension through online learning.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to find out the functions of rhetocial moves and to find out the negative effects of rhetorical moves by Josep Biden. This research used the qualitative design. The data source of this research is the script that will be taken from Youtube channel. The channel containes news about the United States of American President, Joseph Biden, in announcing of oil banning over Ukraine conflict.The research shows that there are three distinct registers, namely the "formal," "consultative," and "casual" registers. The formal register predominates by a factor of 19% over any other. The objective of this formal register is to facilitate communication. Many individuals continue to be ill-equipped with register skills. They are unsure of how to properly construct sentences. They are hesitant to use such language. However, the register experiment will teach us how to use register effectively.

Abstract

Improved employee performance has become very important considering the increasingl currents of globalization where competition is getting stronger as knowledge and technology advances. This change brought implications for the professionalism of the employees in answering the demands of competition in the face of the globalization flow. Thus employee performance increase is absolutely necessary as well as the the ability of the organization to control the employee’s stress level,discipline and the promotion of position in the organization as well in order to fulfill the achievement of performance objectives optimally so that the company can survive and win the competition. This research aims to know and analyse the influence of work stress and discipline on the performance of employees at Capella Multidana Company Medan. With the Simple Random Sampling technique and using the Slovin formula with 5% percentage of looseness (e), then obtained samples in this study a number of 104 employees who are the status of permanent officers. Data is collected through questionnaire, interviews and documentation studies. The poll is calculated by the measurement unit of Likert scale, and processed using SPSS (statistical product and service solution) program. The results showed that simultaneously, work stress and discipline were positively and significantly impacted the employee  performance. Partially, discipline were positively and significantly impacted the employee  performance but work stress were negatively impacted  the employee performance of Capella Multidana Company Medan.
