Abstract

Background: Various efforts are made to maintain and improve the quality of nursing services, one of which is to carry out nursing care according to the standards of nursing practice safely, effectively and ethically. To maintain quality, it is necessary to control nursing care in a directed and planned manner. One of the controls in nursing management is supervision. Purpose: The purpose of this literature study is to identify the effectiveness of the implementation of supervision on the performance of implementing nurses in hospitals. Methods: Database searches used in this literature review are Pubmed, Science Direct and Google Scholar published in 2007-2018. Results: From the six articles used, it was found that supervision had an impact on improving nurses' performance in the form of actions and behaviors that could be measured to maintain and improve the quality of health services for both sick and healthy patients. Other impacts among them commitment, employee attachment, competence and individual quality as well as improving service qualityto them after completing the credentialing process as stated in the Nurse Clinical Assignment Letter. Conclusion: Implementation of supervision motivates nurses to be more attached to work, and has better performance opportunities

Abstract

 Background. It is very important for nurses to carry out nursing care actions professionally by adhering to ethical principles. One way of ethical principles that must be adhered to by professional nurses is to refer to the elaboration of the code of ethics as a standard of service. Nursing codes of ethics are valid and useful decision-making tools for nurses in dealing with ethical problems in daily clinical practice. The aim of the literature study is to identify effective ethical behavior through the nursing code of ethics.Method: The data base used in making review literature is Pubmed, Google Scholar, wiley online library and Science Direct. there are 6 articles that meet the criteria. Results: Of the 6 articles used as a literature review, it was found that to support the ethical behavior of nurses according to the code of ethics in supporting nursing care for patients and collaboration between health teams, it was necessary to consider supporting factors and useful inhibiting factors to behave ethically. These factors are knowledge and perception and compliance with the application of ethics by nurses.Conclusion: nurses must have ethical competencies and skills to engage with the people they serve with sincerity, principled courage and compassion.

Abstract

Background. Quality Of Work Life (QWL) is a process in which employees and stakeholders work to improve the quality of life of employees and organizational performance simultaneously. Nurses are one of the service personnel who have greater and longer interactions with patients. QWL is a degree of fulfillment of human needs in the work environment. If human needs have reached, it can increase productivity. This gives an understanding that QWL is the main problem that gives attention to the organization because it allows to increase the participation of members in the organization.Aim. To determine the QWL level of nurses and predictable factors affecting QWL nurses in hospitals.Method. The study uses a cross-sectional approach. The population came from type B hospitals in Makassar, Indonesia with a sample that was meaningful for more than 1 year and respondents obtained 287 nurses. Data were collected by questionnaire and test which was a linear regression with a significance value of 0.001.Results. The results of QWL nurses are at the moderate level and also in each of the QWL dimensions. The best predictors of QWL nurses working in type B hospitals were marital status (b = -0.199) which was able to have an impact on QNWL of 55%.Conclusion. Dimensions and overall QWL nurses are at a moderate level. QWL is important to identify capacity in meeting the needs of both the community and the workplace.

Abstract

Background : Critical thinking of nursing students have to be increased considering the importance of these things in making decisions, problem solving and clinical judgment and supported by self confidence. Although critical thinking and self confidence are important, but all of students are not able to do that. For this reason, clinical instructor have to make innovation through learning methods to achieve this. The purpose of this literature review is to identify the clinical learning method affecting the critical thinking and self confidence of nursing students.Method:   the data base used in making this review of literature are Pubmed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar published in 2007-2018. Result:  From the 12 articles used in this literature review, it was found that in order to improve the critical thinking and self confidence of nursing students in a clinical environment, the clinical supervisor can use student-centered learning methods and can even involve patients. The learning methods include simulation, nursing round method, demonstration models, clinical conference, and concept mappimg.Conclusion :   the learning method affected the critical thinking and self confidence of nursing students including clinical conference, simulations, demonstration models, concept mapping and nursing rounds. Therefore the supervisor must be able to know and choose what method is appropriate for clinical guidance. Â
