Abstract

The river became very important factor in the life of sultanates, which was related to its function as a source of life with a variety of floras and faunas, as well as accessibility, transportation lines and communication. Limitations of the riverbank area led to the development of the center of sultanates which extended along the river banks, because land area were still forested and less secure. The development of global trade activities during the reign of sultanates, which grew rapidly, led to increasingly crowded river path, traversed by local, regional and international traders. The existence of Dutch trade partnership (VOC) and later became the Dutch East Indies, also influenced the spatial development of administrative centers in West Kalimantan Malay sultanates. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of global trading network on the spatial structure of Westeer Borneo Afdelling and on spatial configuration of the Malay sultanates region in West Kalimantan. The study was conducted using historical method, by mapping the development of a global trading network system and its correlation with the history of the region formation of the sultanates. The results showed that the trading systems and networks affected the structure of afdelling by upstream and downstream system, and the spatial configuration of the central region of Malay sultanates government became limited and spread along the riverbanks. Abstract

The tourism potential and area of West Kalimantan make it difficult for tourists to enjoy its natural and cultural tourism. The distance is quite far, making it difficult for tourists to share a short time to enjoy all the tours available. When viewed from the potential side, West Kalimantan has advantages such as abundant tourist attractions, culture, ethnicity, and various cultures. With this potential, it is necessary to have a container that can cover all the potential that exists in one area in the form of West Kalimantan Mini Park. The purpose of designing the Mini Park of West Kalimantan is expected to present the religious tourism potential of West Kalimantan in an integrated tourist area in Kubu Raya. The design method used in the design of Taman Mini West Kalimantan refers to 5 stages of design, which will start from the initial stages, preparation, submitting proposals, evaluating, and taking action. The design results are in the form of recreational tourism areas and cultural potential in the form of pavilions that represent districts / cities in West Kalimantan.

Abstract

Health is the most important factor in people's lives, especially the health of mothers and children. The increasing number of births and deaths and the increasing number of residents in Sintang Regency as the 3rd largest Regency in West Kalimantan Province, thus requires a health facility that accommodates services for mothers and children. One type of service is the Mother and Child Hospital (RSIA). The design of this hospital is planned in Sintang District, Sintang Regency. This location was taken based on the issue of the importance of RSIA development, and 2019 Central Statistics Agency (BPS) data which shows that health facilities such as hospitals are not evenly distributed in Sintang Regency in Sintang District. The design method used includes: ideas, data collection, analysis, and the design phase, as well as the results of the design of the maternal and child hospital. This design consists of a linear building that follows the shape of the land. Zoning space is divided and adapts to narrow land forms. Orientation, placement and circulation are regulated based on existing regulations and analysis, so that there is a need for circulation paths as needed, and on the facade of the building it is planned to use several window openings that are used as natural lighting and ventilation in the room.

Abstract

The market is a place or area that has existed for a long time as a place to interact in buying and selling to meet needs. The market visually and functionally must be able to provide a sense of comfort and security in the activity. People's Market (public market) has its own characteristics, namely the pattern of interaction between sellers and buyers, such as bargaining between traders and buyers to get a finished price agreement. People's Market (public market) is a common means that must exist in every region. The population of Pontianak city is quite dense, especially in the East Pontianak Subdistrict, Pontianak City. In this region does not have a market that provides complete needs such as Super Market, Public Market and so on. The design of this final task aims to design the concept of a public market area that is easily accessible and can meet the needs of the people in the East Pontianak area and surrounding areas. The scope of the design in this case is to include a fundamental discussion of the design, function of the activities accommodated, supporting facilities and adapted to the design of the public market with current technology. So obtained a concept of The public market area around East Pontianak District that is easily accessible and can meet the needs of the community in the Tanjung Raya 2 road area and surrounding areas.

Abstract

There have been many attempts by cultural actors to promote and preserve Malay Culture in West Kalimantan, but they still face obstacles that make everything hampered. As the interest of the next generation to study and preserve Malay Culture is decreasing, cultural promotion activities are modest, marketing of typical handicrafts that are difficult to market, and the Malay Culture community does not yet have a suitable place to work. Anticipating this, a forum is needed to preserve, demonstrate, maintain and develop West Kalimantan Malay Culture. The final project of the Malay Cultural Center aims to create a center for the preservation of Malay Culture in West Kalimantan. The design method of the West Kalimantan Malay Cultural Center was carried out in several stages, namely ideas, theoretical review, data collection, analysis, synthesis, pre-design, and design. The design concept of the Malay Cultural Center is based on the design elements of the Malay settlement area. The design analysis resulted in several building functions but broadly divided into three functions, namely primary function (performance building), secondary function (training building, art gallery building), and management function (management building, souvenir kiosk). Analysis of the formation of the pattern of the area is taken from the elements of the formation of the Malay area in general and is combined with the shape of the design location. The characteristics of the building follow the form of a West Kalimantan Malay settlement in the form of a typical building on stilts and a pyramid roof / saddle with space tailored to the needs of the user.

Abstract

Ayani Megamall has a higher number of visitors than Matahari Mall. The two malls also have different shapes of spatial configuration. This condition gives rise to a research hypothesis that Ayani Megamall has a higher number of visitors because the spatial configuration of the Ayani Megamall is better. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the spatial configuration of the mall on the number of visitors from two case studies of malls with different conditions. Spatial configuration affects human behaviors in using space. These behaviors can be analyzed in the analysis of connectivity, integration, and intelligibility which are formulated in the space syntax method. This study used the space syntax method with a convex map representation model. The value of space syntax analysis for the two malls as compared to find out a better spatial configuration of the mall. The number of visitors between the two malls was compared based on the visitor occupancy formula which involved not only the number of visitors but also the area of the mall building. The research shows that Ayani Megamall has a better spatial configuration and thus the research hypothesis is accepted. This finding can be concluded that the spatial configuration affects the number of visitors. The better the configuration of the mall space, the smoother the mall's business will be.Keywords: spatial configuration; shopping mall; space syntax; occupancy AbstrakAyani Megamall memiliki jumlah pengunjung yang lebih banyak daripada Matahari Mall. Abstract

Mall is a commercial building that prioritizes pedestrian concept and spatial relation. The assessment of spatial relation can be analyzed by using space syntax method. There is a significant difference in the visitor rate between Matahari Mall and Ayani Megamall which gives rise to a hypothesis that the spatial configuration affects the success of the mall. The purpose of this study is to determine the problems that exist in spatial configuration of the mall. This research uses a sequential explanatory approach that combines the space syntax method (choice simulation and gate count observation) with grounded theory analysis. Grounded theory analysis is done by comparing space syntax data with the theory of the mall.  The data is analyzed with correlation analysis, to see the similitude of simulation data with field data. The result of this study is Ayani Megamall as the one with higher visitor rate has a better organized spatial configuration than Matahari Mall. This result has proven the hypothesis that spatial configuration affects the success of mall. The spatial configuration problems found are the placement of anchor, retail, and elevator which unable to support the visitor’s movement to all places.
