Abstract

ABSTRACT The effect of stocking density and feeding rate on the growth and survival rate of comet gold fish larvae (Carassius auratus) was conducted on 14 May to 23   June 2017 in the Laboratory of Fish Hatchery and Breeding Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, University of Riau. The larva was reared in 15 liters aquarium using water resirculation system. This research used the experimental method, while the experimental design using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) two factors. First factor was stocking density with four treatments (1 larvae/liters, 2 larvae/liters,3 larvae/liters, 4 larvae/liters) and second factor was feeding rate with two treatments( 40 % and 60 % body weight/day). To minimize errors, each treatment repeated 3 times. The growth and survival rate of larvae reared at stocking density 1 larvae/L and feeding rate 60% body weight/day were significantly higher than those it 2, 3, 4 larvae/L and 40 % Bw/day respectively. Larvae reared at stocking density 1 larvae/Liter and feeding rate 60% body weight/day was the highest in growth the survival rate, that was 2.46 g, 4,36 cm, 12,94 % /day and 100 % survival rate. The water quality parameters during this research were: temperature 24,6-28,2 0C, pH 5,2-6,8 and dissolved oxygen 4,9-6,0 mg/l. Key word : Carassius auratus, density, feeding rate, growth, survival rate and recirculation
