Abstract

The objective of the study is to analyse the effect of gross regional domestic products (GRDP) and population on the rate of povery in Nagan Raya. The model utilized in the study was a log multiple regression model. Secondary data from BPS were used to test the selected model. The results of study showed that all independent variabels have statistically significant impact on the rate of poverty. The direction of the two variables was also consistent to the theory where the GRDP and population have negative relation to the rate of poverty. The t and F tests also confirmed that both individually and overall the independent variabels have significant impact on the rate of poverty. The coefficient of determination is 0.96 meaning that 96 percent of variation in the independent variabels can be used to explan the variation of the rate of poverty while the rest will be of other variables which are not included in the model.

The analysis model used is a simple semi-logarithmic linear model with SPSS. Based on the results of the study obtained that the correlation coefficient (R) of 0.267 where the relationship between PAD with economic growth in this district is still weak. Further coefficient of determination on (R2) amounted 0.71. As for the model of the equivalent Y = 23,584 + 0,094 X + E, with a test value of T is not significant, where the Thit < Ttab. Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the variables that affect the consumption patterns of impoverished households exspecially for non-food items. The data used were primary data in the form of a questionnaire and secondary data from the BPS and Regional Development Planning Agency. The data collection method was clustered two-stage sampling that was followed by random sampling. The model for this research was multiple linear regression analysis using a dummy variable with these equation models for non-food consumption patternCNM = o + 1YK + 2EK + 3AK + 4PK + 5UK + c1D1 +The research results showed that the R value for the non-food consumption pattern, the R value was 0.9415, which meant that there was a very strong relationship between the free variables and the bound variable by 94.15 percent; the R2 adj value for the non-food consumption pattern was 0.8816 which meant that the variation in the non-food consumption pattern could be explained as much as 88.16 percent by the variables. These variables covered household income (YK), economic activities of the head of family (EK), number of family members (AK), level of education of the head of family (PK), and age of the head of family (UK) as well as the dummy variable. The remaining 11.84 percent was explained by other variables outside this research model. The equation for the non-food consumption pattern of impoverished households is CNM  =    - 60,062+0.21515YK+ 508.02EK+ 3,939.2AK+2,815PK+314.14UK+9,351DBased on these findings, the researcher recommends that the regency government take strategic steps to address poverty through identifying absolutely impoverished and relatively impoverished households, expanding employment, increasing entrepreneurship culture, and adding or improving transportation-related infrastructure. Abstract

Poverty is a complex and multidimensional problem that is influenced by various interrelated factors, including: income level, education, access to goods and services, geographical location, gender and environmental conditions. Overall poverty rates have declined in all regions over the last 10 years. However, if we look at the poverty rate in the South-West (Barsela) region of Aceh, it is higher than the provincial and Indonesian averages. This indicates that there are many people living below the poverty line in the Barsela area. The phenomenon of working poor above certainly raises the question that there are things which are the determining factors why the welfare or income of workers is still very low. This study aims to analyze the income determinants of the working poor in the South-West Aceh region in 2010 and 2020. These determinants include socio-demographic variables, namely gender, area of residence, marital status, age, education level, business field, employment sector, and number of hours worked. The data used is secondary data and taken from Central Bureau of Statistics of Aceh. This study uses comparative descriptive qualitative analysis with sample of Susenas 2010 is 15.830 persons and the number of workers 3.589 persons. In addition, sample of Susenas 2020 is 17.197 persons with the number of workers 7.013 persons. On the other hand, women experienced a decline. Thus, this data remains unchanged in that the latest data in 2019 shows that the number of workers is also still dominated by South Aceh Regency at 98,000 people and the lowest is Subulussalam City at 29,000 people. Based on this data, it is suggested to the district/city governments in the Barsela region to improve the welfare of the working poor through the provision of allowances to the poor, so that they are able to get out of the poverty trap. Keywords: determinant, working poor and Barsela region.
