Abstract

Metaphors are usually used by Westlife in their lyrics to express what they mean in order to transfer the message they want to send to the listeners in expressing their feeling. But most of people who is interested to listen and sing the Westlife’s song lyrics do not understand the metaphor that exist in Westlife’s song lyrics. Therefore, the focus of the research is how is the metaphor used in Westlife’s song lyrics? This research was designed in qualitative research. The technique of descriptive analysis was applied to analyze data by reading the data and identify the types of metaphor used in the lyric of songs based on Goatly’s book. Based on research finding, the researcher found 19 of metaphor used in the Westlife’s song lyrics. And each metaphors were found in the lyric of Westlife’s songs try to tell us about human social life which contained about love, sadness, happiness, spirit and others. In line with conclusion, the researcher suggests that readers could develops their knowledge of metaphors. This result hopefully would help English teacher to use metaphor in teaching process, and use the metaphor in the classroom can be an effective way of expanding students’ vocabulary.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Amandraya yang berjumlah 56 orang. Sampel penelitian dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling. Sampel penelitian adalah kelas VIII-A sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan jumlah siswa 30 orang dan kelas VIII-B sebagai kelas kontrol dengan jumlah siswa 26 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep sesuai dengan indikator kemampuan pemahaman konsep belajar siswa. Data dianalisa dengan menggunakan uji varians untuk menguji homogenitas dan uji t-test untuk menguji hipotesis. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw memengaruhi kemampuan pemahaman konsep belajar siswa dan meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap masalah beljar siswa serta mampu menyelesaikan masalah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa  model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw mempengaruhi kemampuan pemahaman konsep belajar siswa.

Abstract

The results study indicate that the learning process in class VII-A semester 2 of SMP Negeri 2 Fanayama is increasing. This increase was seen in the processing observation sheets student the activities through the process of cycle I, namely the average percentage of observations student the activity 71,39% and the percentage experiencing an increase in cycle II, which was 76,6%. 77,43% experienced an increase in the process through the second cycle obtained by an average of 82,82% which explained that learning outcomes students class VII-A semester II of SMP Negeri 2 Fanayama 2018/2019 Academic Year the discussion lines and angles there was an increase. This increase is seen the processing the results of learning test process through the first cycle obtained an average percentage success 73,82% and the percentage of incompleteness of 26,18%; processing results the second cycle learning process test obtained average with success percentage of 75,87% and with percentage of incompleteness of 24,13% thus results learning process of have reached the graduation target.

Abstract

The purpose of the implementation of this study was to determine the effect of the index card match learning model on student cognitive learning outcomes in Integrated Science subjects class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Maniamolo in the 2020/2021 Learning Year. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method. The sample of this research is class VIII-A with 30 students and class VIII-B with 31 students. The instrument used is a learning outcome test which is divided into two, namely the initial test and the final test and documentation. Based on the results of data processing that has been carried out by researchers, the following results are obtained: "Based on the results of data processing that has been carried out and the calculation of hypothesis testing, it is obtained tcount = 3.62 and ttable = 1.67. This shows the value of tcount> ttable, then Ho rejects and accepts Ha, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Index Card Match Learning Model on Student Learning Outcomes in Integrated Science Subjects for Class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Maniamolo 2020/2021

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the level moral development of students before and after being treated, as well as to examine the behavioral counseling approach  the moral development of students of SMP Negeri 1 Aramo. This research uses quantitative research with experimental research methods. The population in this study were all students of SMP Negeri 1 Aramo, totaling 200 students, and a sample of 25 students using purposive sampling technique. The data analysis technique in this study used simple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the level of moral development was in the high category with a percentage of 75.20% and an average score of students 88.94, 3) the coefficient of determination with value. Regression model which means rejected and accepted. It can be concluded there is a behavioral counseling approach to students' moral development

Abstract

The laboratory is very closely related to practicum activities in learning science. The aim of this service to find out whether the science laboratory i utilized properly by teachers and students in learning science (physics, biology and chemistry) related to the laboratory. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research. Research results (1) The state of the Natural Sciences laboratory is in good category with a percentage value of 63.45%, (2) The Natural Sciences laboratory equipment has not met the standards set forth in Permediknas of the Republic of Indonesia number 14 of 2007 with a percentage value of 54.87%, (3) Frequency and the utilization of laboratory science not good enough with percentage value of 58.42%. It can be concluded that science laboratories are not utilized well by teachers and students due to inadequate equipment and materials.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan kualitas pembelajaran matematika dengan penerapan model pembelajaran cooperative script dan meningkatkan hasil siswa pada materi lingkaran. Metode yang digunakan merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari 2 siklus. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Amandraya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran cooperative script dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi lingkaran. Peningkatan tersebut nampak pada rata-rata hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I 68,6 dengan persentase ketuntasan 75% dan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa pada siklus II 83 dengan persentase ketuntasan 92% sehingga peningkatan sebesar 17%.

Abstract

This research aimed at improving students’ ability in writing procedure text through the used visual video as media of teaching. This research was a kind of classroom action research. This research was conducted in two cycles and each cycle consisted of two meetings. The subject of the research was eleventh grade of SMK Negeri 1 Toma which consisted of 12 students. The instruments of data collection were observation paper as the source qualitative data and test as the source of data quantitative in this research. The data were analyzed by using the description method and rubric of writing assessment. The result of data analysis showed that by using visual video as media improved the students’ ability in writing skill, stimulated the students to be more active, got interest, and motivation in joining the class. The result of students’ score in cycle I who passed was only 5 students or 42% while the students who failed was 7 or 58% with the average score was 67. Therefore, the cycle I was unsuccessful so the researcher continued in cycle II. In the cycle II, the students who passed was 10 or 83% while the students who failed was only 2 or 17% with the average score was 77. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the students’ ability in writing got improving, where the MCC is 70. Result of observation paper also got improvement from the students. The activities in the cycle I still got weakness which faced by the students, because of the media is new one for them its looks unfamiliar and there are some activities which undone by researcher, however, the result of observation paper show the improvement by students each meeting. The activities Cycle II was satisfied the students more active and interest in study English for each meeting they feels enjoyable and relax each meeting. Based on the research finding, it is concluded that by using visual video as media to teach writing subject was increasing the students’ ability in writing skill. Therefore, the finding of this research are recommended the English teacher to using visual video to teach English subject

Abstract

This research is aimed to improve the students’ ability in speaking by using Presentation, Practice and Production (PPP) Method at seventh grade of SMP Negeri 2 Teluk dalam in 2019/2020. The population of the seventh grade students the students in SMP Negeri 2 Teluk dalam were 2 classes. The researcher choose VII-A as the subject of this research which consisted of 20 students. Classroom Action Research was used as the research method. This research consisted of two cycles. The procedure of the research consisted of planning, action, observation and reflection. The kind of datum analysis, they were: qualitative data and quantitative data. The result of data analysis show that in cycle I who were 10 students passed and 10 students were failed. The average score was 56,05. After doing reflection, it was continue to cycle II who were 16 students succesful to achieve the MCC and 4 students were unsuccesful. The average score was 71,5. The result of research show that this method was successful to improve the students’ speaking. The researcher suggest the teacher to teach the students using this method because this method is effective or appropriate to be applied in teaching speaking. For students which felt shy to practice speaking, hoped able to encourage the students to speak well and more active in the classroom. For the next reseacher and the readers, this result can give the contribution conduct further research.
