Abstract

Measurement of workload is a technique to get information about the efficiency and effectiveness of an organizational unit, or office holders through a process of research and assessment. It is conducted by using job analysis, workload analysis or other management techniques. PT. Ultrajaya Milk Industry & Trading Co., Tbk is manufacturer of the food and beverage. The company is always trying to meet the needs of consumers by creating products with high quality and competitive price. The high stress level perceived by Managerial Level and Supervisory Level become an important reason for the Department of Ultra High Temperature (UHT) to conduct workload analysis. By measuring the employees workload, it will be known whether  the workload of an employee is optimal load or overload. This situation will affect the human-performance (employee). Based on calculations by the DRAWS method is yielded the average workload score for Managerial Level of 67.37% (in the overload category), while the dominant workload variable in Central Demand (CD) is 41.60%,  the distribution of the mental workload is 72.60% and physical workload is 27.40%. While for Supervisory Level  is yielded the average workload score of 64.59% (in the overload category) ), where the dominant workload variable in Central Demand (CD) is 33.63%, the distribution of the mental workload is 55.10% and physical workload is 44.90%. Therefore the perceived mental workload of Supervisory Level is still relatively comparable compared to physical workload, and in contrast to the  perceived Managerial Level which is dominated by mental workload.

Abstract

This study tried to implement the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the weights of the criteria and sub-criteria to find the best supplier. According to QCDFR (quality, cost, delivery, flexibility, and responsiveness). This study took place in one of the biggest tile producers, ranks fifth in the world and the first in Indonesia. However, the company currently only uses quality, cost, and delivery methods to choose the best supplier of raw material, namely feldspar. This research tries to use the systematic method to find the best supplier based on the importance of the criteria. The method used the quantitative approach to enumerate the data to analyze the information.  The company analyzed six suppliers. The primary tool used in this research is a Super Decision Software version 3.2 to create and manage the AHP model, enter the judgments, get results, and perform sensitivity analysis on the results. The result found that Semarang is the best supplier. The company will choose Semarang to become the company's business partner compared to the other suppliers because Semarang has met the criteria that the company prioritizes the most. By having the best supplier selection, the company can provide the right material consistency and suitable material suitability.

Abstract

PT. FSI is a company engaged in the automotive sector. Increased demand and efforts to meet customer satisfaction, then encouraging companies to continue to make various improvements including the shipping department, which is to facilitate the delivery of products to customers. One of the causes of the delay in the delivery of products to customers (delay delivery) is that there is a problem in the pre-delivery process, namely the storage conveyor machine. A storage conveyor machine is a machine that connects from the results of the production process to the temporary storage of goods which are then put into trucks to be sent to consumers. The objective achieved in this study was to analyze the causes of the delay delivery in the process of shipping car seats on conveyor storage machines and make improvements to reduce the jammed base pallet frequency on the storage conveyor machine using the six sigma method. Based on the results of the research and analysis that have been carried out, it turns out that the case of the jammed base pallet on the conveyor storage machine is the cause of delay delivery to the customer and then make improvement to overcome or reduce the frequency of jammed base pallet problems on the storage conveyor machine by adding sponges to the shaft roller conveyor. The addition of sponge rolls is intended to increase power when moving base pallet between stations.

Abstract

Ensuring the continuous supply of materials in the manufacturing system is a very important factor in ensuring the smooth production process and product fulfillment to consumers. A motorcycle manufacturing company that has several plastic parts injection suppliers, but the problem is that some plastic parts suppliers only take from one material supplier with the trademark ABS-J. This single supplier is very risky in terms of the ability to supply materials and also the possibility of a price monopoly that can be done by material suppliers because they have no competitors. With the PDCA approach, research is conducted to determine the addition of alternative ABS materials to ensure material supply availability and also obtain potential benefits that can be obtained by implementing multi-ABS material suppliers. With the trial and error method of using other alternative materials, namely ABS Star and also fish bone analysis, can get the same quality results as ordinary ABS-J material, by changing the injection machine parameter settings. The parameter setting is oriented towards reducing the temperature of the material by lowering the temperature of the barrel to (230-225-220-200 ° C), reducing the injection speed (45-55-45-35) and using Holding Pressure (70 Pa) for ABS Star material.

Abstract

Pharmaceutical industry especially that move in generic products, have many kinds of products to be manufactured in its production lines with the shortest possible time. This condition causes the frequent of changeover process. This cause requires the company to further improve the effectiveness of the machine by reducing the time of changeover process in terms of setup and clean-up machine. In order to reducing the time of setup and clean-up activity use the method of approaches the SMED analysis method to reduce unnecessary motion waste (value added and non-value added derived from lean manufacturing). Before conduct the research, in the 5th production line was not in the Kanban system. So, it often occurs the changeover process. The longest changeover time is in the drying room. After that conduct the Time and Motion Study in order to know the detail setup activities in the drying room. This is due to problems in the working methods and environment factors. Based on data from observations made on the engine FBD, there are 49 activities comprising 44 internal activities and 5 activities that can be converted to an external. Then from 44 internal activities, only 43 were able to be combined activity of up to 11 activities. Results from this study is able to decrease setup time and clean-up on the machine FBD by 62.18%. Based on this result also, this can increase the productivity of the production line. Keywords: Unnecessary motion waste, Lean Manufacturing, Value added, Non-value added, Changeover process, SMED.

Abstract

In tire manufacturing process, amount of defects that occur in the tire company has a tendency to increase and above the target limits. In order to improve the quality of tire manufacture, an analysis to decrease the number of defects is conducted by using the Six Sigma concept. The repair process is done to reduce the defect types Under Cure. This is a defect with the highest number from the seven types of defects. The design DOE (Design of Experiment) is used to determine the optimum setting tires in the cooking process. Defect Under Cure is a type of defect that occurs due to imperfection of tire cooking process (curing) and cause the tire become immature. By doing improvements on the process based on optimum setting, the sigma value of the company is increased by 4.209 sigma which previously amounted to 3.902 sigma.
