Abstract

Disengaged employee is a serious problem and it seems to be a worldwide organizational phenomenon, organizations are facing engagement crisis that may led to lower organizational performance. In the health sector researchs in Indonesia shows that there a positive sign in the increase of nurses productivity. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship of personality trait, motivation and employee engagement of nurses at Advent Hospital in Indonesia. Using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), the relationships between the Personality, motivation and employee engagement were examined. The results indicated that there was a significant and positive correlation between need for achievement and employee engagement and significant and positive correlation between need for achievement and extraversion. The novelty of this paper advance the understanding about why introvert nurses more engage with their work and why need for power is more needed for an introvert personality person. This paper highlighted the importancof  the recruitment process and for intensify employee engagement in health sector.

Abstract

A figure in the New Testament who is quite well known among Christians but notedin only one book that is in the book of John is Nicodemus. He was a Pharisee and amember of the Sanhedrin, the highest judicial institution for the Jewish people. Hisadmiration for the teachings of Jesus made him want to meet and talk with Him. Buthis status, position and education were very different in contrast to Jesus who had noformal education. The meeting could undermine his credibility as a respected,honorable assembly. That is why Nicodemus met Jesus at night after all the residentsentered their homes, after the situation was quiet outside so that no one would see themeeting. Because of this event, a view and opinion emerged which stated thatNicodemus was afraid to declare himself to be a disciple of Jesus openly and onlydeclared himself to be a disciple of Jesus after his death at Golgotha. It seems thatpeople often ignore Nicodemus' courage when expressing his faith in the SanhedrinAssembly's courtroom.

Abstract

The author examines the "influence of Shepherd's attitude toward the level ofspiritual growth of members" in Immanuel Church, Batujajar, Bandung, and thecontext of this verse in the congregation itself. This study was specifically addressedto Immanuel Church, Batujajar. Bandung. The research has 4 indicators, namely: (1)"The meaning of the shepherd's Role", (2) "The Shepherd's attitude can affect thespirituality of the Congregation",(3)"The shepherding attitude to thecongregation",and (4) "The attitude of the shepherd according to 1Peter 4:11".Researchers have a base with four indicators to be discussed: Meaning of theshepherd's role. The second indicator of the shepherd's attitude can affect thespirituality of the congregation. The third indicator of the shepherding attitudetowards the congregation, and the fourth indicator is about the shepherd's attitudeaccording to 1Peter 4:11, which is theoretical research and field research. Theoutcome of theoretical research is the meaning of shepherd's role. The shepherd'sattitude can affect congregational spirituality. The shepherding attitude towards thecongregation. The attitude of the shepherd according to 1 Peter 4:11. The results offield research conducted through questionnaires distributed to the 21 members of theSeventh-day Adventist Church congregation, Batujajar, Bandung, where thequestionnaire contained 36 questions, resulted in a data that could be It wasconcluded that the respondents had an excellent and good view on the one to fourindicators. The method by which the author used to accomplish this scientific work isby the method of collecting data through: Bibles, books, magazines, meditations,interviews, Internet, and other articles in connection with the writing of this scientificwork.

Abstract

Batam Island has diverse social characteristics that are shown by many ethnicities, traditions, and religions. This diversity exists as a result of the population on this island is dominated by domestic migrants from all around Indonesia. In line with the expansion of industry in Batam, the island's population is rapidly increasing, which is accompanied by the establishment of various types of worship places.  Based on population growth, it is essential to examine the historical development of churches of all denominations as well as the establishment of worship places in other religions. The research method used in this writing is qualitative research method by conducting literature review related to church growth. The result of this historical review was, the growth of Christian churches in Batam is not as fast as the growth of mosques, but that does not mean it has decreased in number. They continue to grow and shift geographically in various ways. Clearly, Christianity has spread far from its historical origins and supports Jesus' great commission of making disciples of all nations, baptizing him, and teaching the gospel throughout the world. Abstrak: Pulau Batam merupakan wilayah dengan unsur masyarakat heterogen yang ditunjukkan dengan keberagaman suku, adat istiadat, serta agama yang dianut oleh masyarakat pulau Batam. Keberagaman ini terbentuk karena masyarakat di pulau Batam didominasi oleh pendatang yang berasal dari seluruh Indonesia. Seiring dengan pertumbuhan industri di pulau Batam, maka pertumbuhan penduduk juga meningkat pesat dan diikuti juga bertumbuhnya berbagai macam rumah ibadah.  Berdasarkan latar belakang pertumbuhan penduduk tersebut, maka perlu dilakukan tinjauan historis perkembangan gereja dari semua denominasi dan juga berdirinya rumah ibadah agama -agama lainnya. Penulisan ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif dengan melakukan penelitian kepustakaan atau kajian literatur yang berhubungan dengan pertumbuhan gereja. Hasil tinjauan historis ini adalah pertumbuhan gereja Kristen tidak sepesat pertumbuhan masjid tetapi bukan berarti berkurang dalam jumlah.  Mereka terus bertumbuh dan bergeser secara geografis dalam berbagai cara, Jelas agama Kristen telah menyebar jauh dari asal usul historisnya dan mendukung amanat agung Yesus yaitu menjadikan semua bangsa murid, membaptiskannya dan mengajar injil keseluruh dunia.

Abstract

Natural disasters are events that often occur in Indonesia due to the condition and location of the Indonesian state in a position that is prone to natural disasters. Along with the occurrence of natural disasters, many casualties were caused by the community's unpreparedness to deal with them. The community needs to change the concept of natural disasters, that readiness to face them is not when a disaster occurs but before a natural disaster occurs. This research intends for the church to play an active role as part of the Penta helix to collaborate with the government in charge of dealing with natural disasters by helping the government in reducing and suppressing casualties through natural disaster mitigation which is conveyed to the church members. The research method used is a qualitative method with secondary sources through collecting the necessary data and information by digging from sources through reference books and scientific journal articles. The results of this study indicate that the Church as a religious institution plays an important role in facilitating its congregation to provide disaster mitigation education to reduce casualties and material losses. AbstractBencana alam adalah peristiwa yang sering terjadi di negara Indonesia oleh sebab kondisi dan letak negara Indonesia berada di posisi yang rawan bencana alam. Seiring terjadinya bencana alam, banyak korban jiwa dikarenakan tidak siap siaganya masyarakat menghadapinya. Masya-rakat perlu merubah konsep terhadap bencana alam, bahwa kesiapan menghadapinya bukan disaat terjadinya bencana namun sebelum terjadinya bencana sudah melengkapi dirinya dengan pengetahuan akan bencana alam. Penelitian ini bermaksud agar gereja berperan aktif sebagai bagian dari pentaheliks untuk berkolaborasi dengan pemerintah yang berwewenang mengatasi bencana alam dengan maksud menolong pemerintah dalam mengurangi dan menekan korban jiwa lewat mitigasi bencana alam yang disampaikan kepada warga Gereja. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan sumber sekunder melalui pengumpul data-data dan informasi yang diperlukan dengan cara menggali dari sumber melalui buku-buku referensi dan artikel-artikel jurnal ilmiah. Hasil penelitian ini menujukan bahwa Gereja sebagai Lembaga agama sangat berperan penting dalam memfasilitasi jemaatnya untuk memberikan edukasi mitigasi bencana sehingga mengurangi korban jiwa dan kerugian material.

Abstract

Man is the crown of God's creation which is different from the rest of creation. Created in His image is a testament to how respected man among all the other creations. Humans will be valuable when the image / likeness of God is in him and reflect God’s thoughts and greatness, this is a haven for human judgment standard. Losing one’s self image of God means losing the value of life and not worthwhile anymore. And the power of thought play a vital role in reflecting the image of God made ​​man worth.

Abstract

Religious pluralism exist because of the many religions and beliefs adopted in this world.  In this case, the Christian Education organized by the Seventh-day Adventist Church both in the church and education at schools and universities not only transfer the knowledge of science and technology but also motivate learners to practice it through IMTAK (faith piety), in order to cultivate good deeds which is the core of the doctrine or the teachings of the church itself.  As an example of the ambivalence between the Adventist Church's teachings and practices, is the thinking that only members of the Adventist church alone are savevd when the church has never taught that way.  Here is the role of Christian education, to educate students that everybody can be saved when they have faith in Jesus and His teachings.

Abstract

Young generations are church motors.  They are often called as the strengths for today and leaders for tomorrow.  However, there is a great danger of losing the young generations that will weaken the church.  The church building may be present, but it may be empty.  The program may be held, but the effect cannot be felt.  Therefore, the church should make a movement to proctect these young generations from the negative cultures, so that the church will not lose its young generations that will be the leaders of tomorrow.

Dengarkan, lakukan dan jangan pernah abaikan firman itu agarkita dapat selamat, sebab tidak pernah ada berkat tanpa tanggung jawab.

Abstract

Community in the church is divided into three classes: top layercommunity, middle layer community and bottom layer community. A citizen of thetop layer community is not too many when compared with the middle layer andbottom layer communities in the church. The top layer or often called as rich peopleregards as people who already have everything and do not need any more to get theattention even from the church. But in reality they too are human beings with athousand problems in their lives. Church need to give attention and pastoral care notonly for the bottom and middle layers community but also for rich people who aremembers of the congregation.
