Abstract

In playing various video game, gamers unconsciously and automaticly embodied theirself inside the video game. The embodiment process are portrayed through icons, avatars and mostly their in-game characters, while the immersion happens during the process of playing, which can occur inside and outside of the video game. The playing intensity and the amount of time spend in playing video game determine the overall process of embodiment and immersion, beside the player sociocultural condition. This research uses ethnography to identify how gamers play the video game to fulfill their intrinsic needs such as competence, autonomy and relatedness. To cite this article (7th APA Style): Yuwono, A. Abstract

The nurse's uniform is the main supporter of the nurse in performing her professional roles at the hospital.Therefore, the nurse's uniform is designed to meet the needs of her professional role in the hospital, although in practice the nurse's uniform is not always able to function properly. This article aims to identify the variables that need to be considered in the study of professional uniform design, especially nurses. The hope, this paper can contribute to the design of similar studies. Assessment of the design of nurse uniforms is done through literature and document studies, with the scope of the in-patient nurses' uniforms. This article shows that the variables that need to be considered in the study of professional uniform design, especially the nurse, cover the professional needs and criteria for the design requirements of professional uniform. The stages that need to be done in analyzing the functional design of professional uniform are grouped into 4 stages, including: stage identifying the needs of the profession; determine the functional requirements of the profession; establishing criteria for the design of professional uniforms; and the stage reflects the functional needs of the profession into the clothing design. Key words: uniforms, nurses, design-research  Pakaian seragam perawat merupakan pendukung utama perawat dalam menjalankan aktifitas peran profesinya di rumah sakit. Maka dari itu, pakaian seragam perawat dirancang untuk memenuhi kebutuhan profesinya di rumah sakit, kendati pada praktiknya pakaian seragam perawat tidak selalu dapat berfungsi sebagaimana mestinya. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi variabel-variabel yang perlu dipertimbangkan dalam penelitian desain pakaian seragam profesi, khususnya perawat. Harapannya, tulisan ini dapat berkontribusi bagi perancangan penelitian-penelitian sejenis. Pengkajian terhadap desain pakaian seragam perawat dilakukan melalui studi literatur dan dokumen, dengan ruang lingkup pada pakaian seragam perawat rawat inap. Tulisan ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel-variabel yang perlu dipertimbangkan dalam penelitian desain pakaian seragam profesi (perawat), mencakup kebutuhan-kebutuhan profesi dan kriteria persyaratan desain pakaian seragam profesi. Adapun tahapan yang perlu dilakukan dalam menganalisis fungsional desain pakaian seragam profesi dikelompokkan ke dalam 4 tahap, meliputi: tahap mengidentifikasi kebutuhan profesi; menetapkan kebutuhan fungsional profesi; menetapkan kriteria desain pakaian seragam profesi; dan tahap merefleksikan kebutuhan fungsional profesi ke dalam desain pakaian. Kata kunci: pakaian-seragam, perawat, rancangan-penelitian

Abstract

Klaim kebenaran filmis yang berlaku bagi dokumenter perlu diselidiki dengan pertimbangan bahwa notabene gagasan tentang kebenaran filmis diletakkan pada dua aspek, yaitu: realitas dan sineas. Penyelidikan dilakukan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana persoalan itu berkembang, serta mencari berbagai kemungkinan atau alternatif untuk menyelesaikan persoalan tersebut. Hasil penyelidikan tersebut menjadi dasar bagi konseptualisasi tentang kebenaran filmis dokumenter dengan cara mempertimbangkan peletakan kebenaran filmis pada aspek lain, di luar realitas dan sineas. Langkah awal penyelidikan fokus kepada literature review, di mana langkah ini menjadi cara yang efektif untuk menyarikan beberapa pemikiran penting dan mengkritisi pemikiran terkait klaim kebenaran filmis dokumenter. Hasil literature review menunjukkan adanya celah persoalan yang harus diselesaikan terkait klaim kebenaran filmis dokumenter. Persoalan itu muncul karena belum adanya satu gagasan yang secara signifikan menyebut pembacaan kebenaran filmis secara kognitif. Itu artinya, proses kognitif yang berlangsung selama kegiatan menonton belum sepenuhnya dibahas sebagai fokus dalam beberapa kajian tersebut. Problem inilah yang mendasari tawaran alternatif berupa pelibatan penonton untuk membaca kebenaran filmis dokumenter melalui pengamatan terhadap keberadaan unsur filmis di sepanjang alur dan plot. Konseptualisasi ini menemukan istilah bagi cara pandang penonton terhadap klaim kebenaran filmis, yaitu keterpercayaan. Istilah keterpercayaan ini akan dikaji secara khusus sebagai istilah baru bagi klaim kebenaran filmis dokumenter pada penelitian selanjutnya.

Abstract

Esensi dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkap nilai-nilai musikal yang melekat di balik pertunjukan tari tradisional Linda dalam ritual adat keagamaan Karia di daerah Kabupaten Muna Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara. Hal yang unik dalam penelitian ini adalah alat musik yang digunakan dalam pertunjukan tari tradisional Linda dalam ritual Karia, para pemusik yang mayoritas dilakoni oleh kaum perempuan Muna, konsep musik yang sedikit berbeda dengan konsep musik pada umumnya karena cenderung disharmoni, dan perspektif orang Muna yang mayoritas beragama Islam terhadap musik. Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa, musik mempunyai nilai-nilai khusus tersendiri dalam sudut pandang orang Muna.Musical Axiology in Linda's Traditional Dance Performance in the Traditional Karia Religious Ritual in the Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The essence of this research is to reveal the musical values inherent behind Linda's traditional dance performance in the traditional Karia religious rituals in the Muna Regency area of Southeast Sulawesi Province. What is unique in this study is the musical instrument used in Linda's traditional dance performances in the Karia ritual, the musicians who are predominantly performed by Muna women, the concept of music is slightly different from the concept of music in general because it tends to be disharmony, and the perspective of the majority of Muna people Muslim towards music. From the results of the study concluded that, music has its own special values in the point of view of the Muna people.Keywords:  music; linda traditional dance; ritual karia

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang komunikasi pertunjukan tradisi bagurau saluang dendang di Minangkabau sebagai kontak sosio-kultural dan identitas kelompok pagurau. Bagurau merupakan pertunjukan seni tradisi saluang dendang yang melibatkan kelompok-kelompok pagurau untuk berinteraksi dalam pertunjukan. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah komunikasi pertunjukan yang terbagi pada dua bentuk, yakni komunikasi sebagai proses dan komunikasi sebagai produksi makna. Data penelitian bersumber dari teks-teks pertunjukan berupa dendang, pantun-pantun, dan perilaku interaksi pagurau dalam pertunjukan dan keterhubungannya dengan realitas sosio-kultural masyarakat setempat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada tiga pola interaksi antara penyaji dan pagurau pertunjukan, yaitu satu arah (interaksi antara pendendang dengan satu kelompok pagaurau), dua arah (interaksi antara pendendang dengan antar dua kelompok pagurau) dan multi arah (interaksi pendendang dengan banyak kelompok pagurau). Interaksi dalam pertunjukan ini sebagai wadah kontak sosial pagurau untuk berintegrasi yang berfungsi sebagai penyangga kelangsungan pertunjukan dan perwujudan eksistensi kelompok antar komunita pagurau.Social Interaction of Bagurau Saluang Dendang Minangkabau Tradition in West Sumatra. This study examines the performance communication of bagurau saluang tradition of Minangkabau as a socio-cultural contact and the identity of pagurau groups. Bagurau is a performance of saluang dendang tradition which involves pagurau groups to interact during the show. Therefore, the study applies communication performances approach which is divided into two forms, namely communication as a process and communication as the production of meaning. The research data based on performance texts in form of dendang, pantun and pagurau interaction behavior in performance and its relation with the socio-cultural reality of the local community. The research finding shows three patterns of interaction between performer and the pagurau, namely: one-way interaction (between the pendendang with one group of pagaurau), two-ways interaction (between the pendendang with two groups of pagurau) and multi-ways interaction (between  pendendang with many groups of pagurau). Finally, the interaction in this performance is a medium of pagurau social contact to integrate that serves as a buffer of the continuity of the performance and the realization of group existence among pagurau communita.Keywords: interaction; bagurau; saluang dendang

Abstract

Musik metal terkait dengan isu kekerasan, pemberontakan, kesewenang-wenangan. Oleh karenanya, band metal juga lekat dengan citra-citra itu. Namun demikian, Purgatory, band metal dari Jakarta, mencoba memunculkan citra yang berbeda. Mereka mengusung nilai-nilai religius islami dalam karya musik dan pertunjukannya. Dalam tulisan ini, penulis berupaya untuk memahami cara band ini tetap memiliki penggemar dengan isu-isu yang diusung tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan etnografi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi-partisipasi. Penulis mengikuti dalam peristiwa-persitiwa pementasan musik metal dan juga berbagai aktivitas yang mengelilinginya. Berdasarkan penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada tiga dimensi persepsi estetika yaitu mengusung nilai-nilai religius Islami, memiliki kekhasan yang menampilkan ciri musik metal, dan mensyiarkan nilai-nilai kebaikan yang mendorong Mogerz, yakni para penggemar Purgatory tetap tertarik dengan band itu dan musiknya. Metal Music and Islamic Religious Values: The Aesthetics Review of Islamic Music in Purgatory Performance. Metal music is closely related to violence, rebellion, and abuse. Therefore, the metal band is also associated with those images. Purgatory, a metal band in Jakarta, however, is trying to establish a distinctive image to those of metal bands in common. They are to promote Islamic religious values in their music and performances. In this paper, the writers seek to understand how this band remains having their fans with these issues. This study uses an ethnographic approach. Data collection is carried out by doing the participatory observation. The writers actively got involved in the metal music performances and also other various activities. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there are three dimensions of the aesthetics perceptions, i.e. carrying Islamic religious values, having a characteristic that displays the characteristics of metal music, and broadcasting good values that support Mogerz, fans of Purgatory, to keep on attracted to the band and their music.Keywords: Islamic metal music; purgatory; mogers

Abstract

This study aims to understand the song of Mate di Ranto from a musicological perspective. The main data of this research is the song of Mate di Ranto by Poster Sihotang. The analysis was done by observing the melody and the lyrics of the song. Based on the research it is concluded that the song of Mate di Ranto is a song of Toba people with the genre of andung-andung, which is a melancholic nuance and has a meaning as an expression of sadness. This song is inspired by the andung-andung of death ceremony. This song is the result of a blend of traditional singing style of andung-andung and popular music singing styles. This song uses a combo band accompaniment which is composed by combining elements of pop music and traditional Toba music.

Abstract

After the fall of the Soeharto regime was like the fresh air for the ethnic Chinese in Indonesia inarticulating cultural identities, especially after the issuance of Presidential decree Number 6 of 2000which revoked Presidential Instruction Number 14 of 1967 on religion, beliefs, and customs of China.With that Presidential decree, Chinese people were free to celebrate the religious ceremony and customs,as well as featuring Barongsai (Lion Dance) in front of public. Consequently, Barongsai became popularand transformed into a cultural icon as well as “obligatory menu” for city event. Barongsai allegedlyunderwent commodification along with its popularity. However, that signal was responded byBarongsai activists as the consequence of efforts to survive and conquer the market. Through the mindsetof yin and yang, commodification discourse is abrogated and appropriated by Barongsai activists, socommodification is not just an effort to maintain and preserve the ancestral cultural heritage, identity,and cultural pride due to the accomplishments achieved

Abstract

The visualization of the Gorontalonese bridal costume worn at the wedding reception is increasingly diverse in terms of the modification forms. The modification can be seen in the design elements including shape, texture, color, material, and accessory. Furthermore, the modification of the current costume makes the functional value of the bridal costume different from the already patterned one, which can be seen from its social, symbolic, and economic values of the Gorontalo community. The data in this study was collected through the review of books and previous studies related to the wedding clothing, the interviews, and the observation of bridal costumes and analyzed using the qualitative data analysis approach. The observation of unmodified bridal costume objects was done at the Dulahopa Traditional House in Gorontalo, while that of modified bridal costume objects was conducted on the widely used bridal costumes within the last two years in Gorontalo. The purpose of this study was to find out the aspects underlying the modification of bridal costume in Gorontalo. The results show that Gorontalo people tend to choose modified wedding dresses in the wedding party. Moreover, this study suggests that the bridal costume modification is influenced by the family’s social status in Gorontalonese community, migratory Gorontalonese people (staying outside the area of origin), and technological advancement.

Abstract

This research discusses about "Theatre by Request" (TbR) as showcase method by Studio Theatre Pusat Pengembangan dan Pemberdayaan Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan (PPPPTK) of Seni Budaya Yogyakarta. TbR is an interactive show where audiences can choose and decide which actors will perform, the theme of the story will be staged, and to control the show depends on the performances option. This interactive performance is done by improvisation, considering the actor himself never know who will be chosen by the audience to play and what theme will be played. TbR is designed to introduce theatrical play techniques to the community, especially students. Mostly, theatre education uses drama script as a reference learning, but TbR uses theatre game as method to introduce theatre world. This research focuses on how TbR uses the game as a basis for making educative performances, especially education about the theater world itself. The results showed that theatre game is one of the alternative media to introduce theater as a performance as well as learning materials to the community, especially school children.
