Abstract

This study aims to analyze the interaction between the RME approach and conventional with the initial ability of mathematics in improving students' mathematical literacy. The research method used in this study was quasi-experimental with the design of a non-equivalent control group design. Data retrieval is done through mathematical literacy tests. The data analysis method that the researchers conducted was the Two-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) using the general linear univariate analysis model. The subjects in the study were grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Kuningan, which numbered 309 students. The sampling technique was carried out using purposive sampling technique, taking into account the homogeneity of Prior Mathematical Learning Abilitystudents'in both classes determined by giving initial tests to students. The research sample amounted to 65 students, which were divided into two classes. The results of the study showed that there was no interaction between RME learning and the conventional category of students 'ability to students' mathematical literacy. However, for each level of students’ initial mathematical abilities, an increase in students' mathematical literacy skills with learning using the RME learning assisted by Adobe Flash CS6 is higher than students who obtain conventional learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui terdapat atau tidaknya pengaruhpembelajaran kontekstual terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis siswa SMP.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah adalah metode eksperimen kuasieksperimen dengan bentuk Randomized Control Group Pretest-Postes Design.Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 1 Cigugur Kuningan. Dari hasil pretes danposttest diperoleh rata-rata nilai pretest kelas kontrol lebih besar dari pada rata-ratanilai pretest kelas eksperimen dengan selisih 0,05. Sedangkan setelah diberikanpostes diperoleh rata-rata nilai postes kelas eksperimen lebih besar daripada rata-ratanilai postes kelas kontrol dengan selisih 5,21. Berdasarkan hasil uji normalitas danhomogenitas, diketahui bahwa kedua data preteset dan posttest berdistribusi normaldan homogen. Hasil Uji Perbedaan Rata-rata Skor Pretes signifikansi sebesar 0,930yang artinya lebih besar dari ? = 0,05. Sehingga H0 diterima, artinya rataankemampuan awal literasi matematis siswa pada kelompok eksperimen sama denganrataan kemampuan awal siswa pada kelompok kontrol. Sedangkan untuk data posteskemampuan literasi matematis sebesar 0,000. Jika diambil ? =0,05 maka Asymp.Sig(1-tailed) < ? sehingga H0 ditolak. Kesimpulannya hipotesis penelitian diterima,bahwa : kemampuan literasi matematis siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakanpembelajaran kontekstual lebih baik dari siswa yang menggunakan pembelajarankonvensional. Sedangkan peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematika yang dicapaioleh kelas kontrol dengan kriteria peningkatan rendah. Maka dapat dikatakanpeningkatan kemampuan literasi matematika kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari padakelas kontrol. Dengan demikian pembelajaran kontekstual dapat meningkatkankemampuan literasi matematika siswa. Selain itu juga, respon yang diberikan olehsiswa pun sangat baik sehingga pembelajaran kontekstual dapat dijadikan suatualternative pembelajaran bagi guru matematika.

Abstract

Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Auditory,Intellectually, Repetition (AIR) dalam Upaya Peningkatan Kemampuan PenalaranMatematis Siswa MTs. Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh upaya untuk meningkatkankemampuan penalaran matematis siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaranAuditory, Intellectually, Repetition (AIR). Melalui metode eksperimen diperoleh hasiltes awal kelas kontrol dengan nilai rata-rata 4,55 dan nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen4,01. Sedangkan pada tes akhir diperoleh nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol 17,47 dan kelaseksperimen 22,74. Dari hasil analisis data awal dan data akhir sampel dapatdisimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan modelpembelajaran Auditory, Intellectually, Repetition (AIR) lebih baik daripada kemampuanpenalaran matematis siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung.Adapun peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis kelas eksperimen beradapada kategori sedang Selain itu dari hasil angket respon siswa, diketahui bahwa siswamenunjukkan respon positif terhadap model pembelajaran AIR.

Abstract

The students mathematical understanding is important to master. Mathematical understanding is also one of the goals of each material presented by the teacher, because the teacher is a guide to achieve the expected concept. Although already has the ability of a mathematical language is needed, but the belief in the field of this ability is still not fully reinforced by students. This study aims to examine the comparison of the ability to understand mathematically students who apply Algebrator software-assisted learning and students who use regular learning and examine differences in the ability to improve students mathematical understanding of Algebrator-assisted learning software and students using ordinary learning. The research method used in this research is quasi experiment with non-equivalent control group design (unequal control group design). The result of hypothesis test shows that there is a difference in the ability of understanding of mathematics significantly between the students with high, medium and low ability level. This is possible by the improvement of mathematical ability of students triggered by Algebrator software-assisted mathematics learning which in the implementation of learning always pay attention to students centered

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan strategi Think-Talk-Write. Metode penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen yang terdiri dari dua kelompok subjek penelitian yang diambil secara acak. Pertama adalah kelompok eksperimen yang melakukan pembelajaran dengan strategi Think-Talk-Write dan kelompok yang kedua adalah kelompok kontrol yang melakukan pembelajaran biasa. Kedua kelompok ini diberikan pretest dan posttest dengan menggunakan instrumen yang sama. Analisis yang dilakukan uji perbedaan dua rata-rata gain dengan menggunakan uji-t, menggunakan Compare Mean Independent Samples Test, Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan temuan selama penelitian, mengenai kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa pada pembelajaran menggunakan strategi Think-TalkWrite dan dengan pembelajaran konvensional maka peneliti memperoleh kesimpulan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran matematika menggunakan strategi Think-Talk-Write lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran biasa (konvensional).

Abstract

Mathematics cannot be separated from everyday life. The use of mathematical concepts in cultural activities can be studied through the ethnomathematics program. However, ethnomathematics research may not be able to provide noticeable results, especially in constructing mathematical modelling for pedagogical purposes. Ethnomodelling later became one of the concepts introduced as an approach in ethnomathematics research. Based on the cultural aspect, the ability to predict a good day in farming is included in the holistic concept of culture because it belongs to the knowledge system and belief system (religion) in the universal element of culture. The research was conducted using an ethnomethodological approach and a realist ethnographic design. Based on this, this research was conducted to describe the ability of the Cigugur indigenous people in Kuningan Regency to predict what days are considered good to start farming activities. Data were collected by using observation techniques, in-depth interviews, documentation, and field notes. Data analysis techniques are carried out in stages through content analysis, triangulation, and pattern search. Based on the study of ethnomathematics, research that is able to describe the mathematical ideas and practices of the indigenous Cigugur community can be classified into several fundamental mathematical dimensions including counting, finding, measuring, designing, and explaining. The use of the ethnomodelling approach in research can describe several mathematical concepts used by the concepts of numbers, sets, relations, congruence, modulo, and mathematical modelling.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah kemampuan berpikir kreatifmatematis siswa yang menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TeamAssisted Individualization (TAI) lebih baik dari pada kemampuan berpikir kreatifmatematis siswa yang menerapkan pembelajaran konvesional. Penelitian inidilaksanakan di kelas VII SMPN 1 Lebakwangi pada semester 2 tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Teknik pemgambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah random sampling. Metodepenelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen. Hasil tes kemampuan berpikirkreatif matematis siswa diperoleh nilai rata-rata tes awal kelas eksperimen 32,83 dannilai rata-rata tes awal kelas kontrol 32,17. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata tes akhir kelaseksperimen 48,25 dan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol 37,42. Teknik analisis datamenggunakan uji-t untuk menguji hipotesis statistik. Pada uji perbandingan dua ratarata diperoleh nilai thitung = 2,040, nilai ttabel = 1,669, karena 2,040 > 1,669 atau-2,040 < -1,669 maka H1 diterima, artinya kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematissiswa yang menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team AssistedIndividualization (TAI) lebih baik dari pada kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematissiswa yang menerapkan pembelajaran konvesional.

Abstract

Mathematic learning problem occur by students because there are learning obstacle in student self. The obstacle is based on didactical obstacle is the less teacher competence in managing dan preparing of learning process and epistimological obstacle, that is beginning knowledge student which can’t be applied in another condition. Therefore, this didactical design research is used as effort to exceed learning obstacle which is felt by student. This research is didactical design research with descriptive quality method use design research is Didactical Design Research (DDR). Data collecting method for this research is question, interview, literature study, and observation. This research held in MTsN Model Cigugur Kuningan at class VII.1 and VII.3. From this research carried out some learning obstacle are 1) epistimological obstacle because student mistake in operating algebra operation and difficulty in intrepreting story problem to model and applied mathematic form, 2) ontogenikal obstacle because the limitedness student in abstract thinking 3) didactical obstacle because the teacher jus using teacher center approach
