Abstract

A α-Fe2O3/SiO2 nanocomposite as aquathermolisys catalyst material at heavy oil has been synthesized and optimized by using  Salt-Assisted Spray Pyrolysis method. The α-Fe2O3/SiO2 nanocomposite is obtained by thermal decomposition from the precursor.  The precursor is made of FeCl3, SiO2 and NaCl and water as a solvent. Concentration of FeCl3, SiO2, and NaCl are 1:1:5 in order. the composition of SiO2 in the composite is 0%, 25% and 50% of total mass, respectively. the droplets were transported to the furnace reactor using air as a carrier gas with a fixed flow rate at 5 liter/min and the furnace’s temperature is 800 °C in order to get the pyrolysis reaction. The resulted powder is then characterized by using XRD, SEM and Chatalytic aquathermolysis test. The result of XRD characterization shows that crystal peaks of α-Fe2O3 has been formed. SEM result shows nanocomposite morphology of α-Fe2O3/SiO2 with circle particle form with average particle diametre of α-Fe2O3, SiO2 25% and SiO2 50% of total mass are 765 nm, 850 nm, and 746 nm, respectively. Catalytic Aquathermolysis test showed catalyst α-Fe2O3/SiO2 50%  has catalytic properties better than catalytic properties of α-Fe2O3/SiO2 and α-Fe2O3/SiO2 25%.

Abstract

ZnO:Fe thin films has been successfully carried out by a simple spray pyrolysis method. The thin film was grown on ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) substrate with a metal-semiconductor-metal (MSM) structure. ZnO:Fe thin film characters as photodetector application include morphological structure, and electrical properties. SEM image results show the molarity difference can affect the particle size. The Current-Voltage (I-V) characterization shows that different solvent effects and molarity give different sensitivity. Sample ZnO:Fe 0.5M Ethanol has the highest sensitivity compared to other samples because it has a fairly low current and high bright current.

Abstract

Karakterisasi dan pengujian sifat kemagnetan pasir besi ekstraksi di Wilayah Lampung Tengah telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan mineral dan sifat kemagnetan dari pasir besi di daerah Bekri Kabupaten Lampung Tengah dengan menggunakan metode presipitasi basa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Fisika, Institut Teknologi Sumatera pada bulan Juni hingga September 2018. Kandungan mineral pasir dianalisis menggunakan X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD). Hasil analisis ekstraksi pasir besi dengan variasi suhu 80oC, 120oC, dan 160oC berturut-turut berukuran 33.76 nm, 11.84 nm dan 11.14 nm. Sedangkan hasil analisis ekstraksi pasir besi dengan lama pengadukan yaitu 2 jam, 4 jam, dan 6 jam  berturut-turut memiliki ukuran partikel 43.12 nm, 11.14 nm, dan 11.32 nm. Hasil analisis kandungan mineral pasir besi di wilayah Lampung Tengah didominasi oleh Ilmenite dan Potassium Chloride. Kurva histerisis Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) menunjukkan bahwa pasir besi ekstraksi dari Lampung Tengah merupakan material antiferomagnetik dengan nilai magnetisasi saturasi maksimum (Ms) sebesar 5.78 memu (mili emu), magnetisasi remanen (Mr) 1.13 memu dan nilai medan koersivitas sebesar 851.68 Oe.

Abstract

Characteristics and Mineral Content of Lampung Tengah Ironsands. This study is carried out to investigate the characteristics and mineral content of ironsands from Bekri, Lampung Tengah Regency by using precipitation method. The research was conducted in Physics Laboratory of Institut Teknologi Sumatera from June to September 2018. Mineral content of sand is analayzed with X-Ray Diffractometer. The extraction was varied in temperature and stirring time. The temperature is varied in 80oC, 120oC, dan 160oC and yields different size; 33.76 nm, 11.84 nm and 11.14 nm. Meanwhile, the extraction is varied for 2 hours, 4 hours and 6 hours stirring and yields particle with 43.12 nm, 11.14 nm and 11.32 size. Mineral content of ironsands in Lampung Tengah are dominated by Ilmenite and Potassium Chloride.

Abstract

Indonesia's electricity needs are increasing in line with increasing population and living standards. Renewable energy is an alternative in avoiding dependence on conventional PLN electricity. This research is a further study of solar energy as an alternative energy to meet the electricity needs of Institut Teknologi Sumatera (ITERA) which always increases every year with the increasing number of students and the infrastructure of lecture infrastructure. Research on the potential of solar energy at the ITERA has been carried out before using conventional methods. This study further examines the potential of solar energy by considering various factors. This study uses solar cells with 100 WP specifications and uses Arduino UNO instrumentation to facilitate the measurement of current and voltage automatically which can be stored directly in memory cards. Based on the measurement results obtained a maximum power value of 66 watts that occurs at 11:00 and 12:00 WIB. Keywords: Solar cell, solar energy

Abstract

Abstrak — Panel surya dapat diketahui kinerjanya dengan cara mengukur parameter arus dan tegangan namun untuk mendapatkan informasi yang akurat dan berkelanjutan maka perlu adanya sistem pemantuan terhadap panel surya tersebut. Sistem pemantauan pada penelitian ini dibuat dengan berbasis ATMEGA328P, ESP 8266, sensor arus dan tegangan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa untuk sistem pemantuan kinerja panel surya dalam pengujian memiliki galat sebesar 0.2 persen untuk sensor tegangan, 0.17 persen untuk sensor arus. Untuk data dari sistem pemantuan menunjukkan nilai rata-rata tegangan dan arus sebesar 20.75 volt dan 2.81 ampere dengan standar deviasi 0.32 volt dan 0.14 ampere serta 15 detik untuk jeda pengiriman data ke platform penyimpan data. Abstract — Solar panels can be accessed by measuring the current and voltage parameters to obtain accurate and necessary information, so a system of monitoring for the solar panels is needed. The improvement system in this study was made based on ATMEGA328P, ESP 8266, current and voltage sensors. It can be concluded that the solar panel monitoring system in the test has an error of 0.2% for voltage sensor, 0.17 % for current sensor. Data from the monitoring system, the average voltage and current values ​​are 20.75 volts and 2.81 amperes with a standard deviation of 0.32 volts and 0.14 ampere then it takes 15 seconds for time delay in sending data to a data storage platform.
