Abstract

The sheet and granule of polypropylene (PP) have been used as the support material for TiO2 catalyst. The TiO2 powder was coated to the polymer surface using a combination of electrostatic and heating methods (for the PP sheet) and thermal milling method (for PP granule). The photocatalytic testing of catalysts conducted on a 300 ml solution of Methylene Blue (MB) with initial concentration of 25 ppm. Under solar ilumination, the catalyst sheets have a higher photocatalytic activity than the catalyst granules.

Abstract

Keeping an interaction distance between 1 to 2 m is one of the health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic. This attempt was made to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus. On the other hand, this health protocol activity is often overlooked, whether intentionally or not. According to the mechanism of the Coronavirus spreading in the form of droplets that comes out during communication, sneezing, or coughing, maintaining distance can be the best effort to minimize the transmission of this virus. Therefore, the availability of a simple, accurate and user-friendly physical distancing alarm system could be a solution in the implementation of this health protocol. In this study, a prototype of a physical distancing alarm based on a distance sensor and a microcontroller in the form of an identity card was developed. Several steps are conducted in developing of this system, namely designing the instrumentation system and testing the performance of the system. System performance is tested through variations in the distance and angle of the objects. The measurement results show that the system can detect objects in front of the sensor up to a distance of 2.8m and an angle of  for a distance of 1m. The measurement using different angles of objects was performed for objects on the left and right sides of the sensor. In addition, a warning alarm will be on when the distance of the object exceeds the allowed distance.

Abstract

The type of plastic packaging that is popular among the public is bottle packaging, plastic bottle packaging always has a bottle cap. Some people only know that the part of the bottle cap is only on the outer cap, even though the plastic bottle cap consists of two types, namely the outer cap (cap) and the inner cap (plug). The plastic material used to make the plug is Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE), a telon oil plug is produced using an injection molding machine, by inserting plastic pellets into the hopper and then heating it by the barrel, plastic pellets that have melted will be injected into the mold ( print). In the process of making the telon oil plug, a defect was found. From the observation, it is known that several types of defects that occur during the LLDPE oil plug production process include black dot, flashing, and unmould / short shot. Defects that occur during the telon oil plug production process are caused by damage, contamination, and mismatches in the engine parameter settings. The purpose of this study is to determine the causes and solutions of defects that occur in LLDPE telon oil plugs with the HAITIAN 1600MA injection molding machine at PT X. Some solutions are made to reduce defects that occur in telon oil LLDPE plugs is to clean the material reservoir, repair or replace the mold, clean the hopper before loading the material, and set up the barrel parameter 180-230oC, inject pressure 60 bar, holding pressure 30 bar, speed 17.8 seconds.

Abstract

The use of waste, as well as unused goods, becomes something that has a sales value which is very necessary to preserve the environment. One example is the use of dry leaf waste which can be transformed into goods of economic value to the people who use them. The transformation of dry waste into pulp is one of the efforts that can be made to overcome the waste problem. The pulp from the dried leaf waste can then be turned into a paper which can then be used as an alternative to sanitary pads.

Abstract

The type of plastic packaging that is popular in the community is bottle packaging. The plastic material that is generally used to make plastic bottles is High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). The plastic bottle industry in Indonesia usually uses a blow molding process in its production process, where the blow molding process consists of injection blow molding, extrusion blow molding and stretch blow molding. The SMC B11 machine is one of the extrusion blow molding machines used to produce plastic bottle packaging. In producing workpieces, this machine still produces several products that are not in accordance with company standards, including in terms of production cycle times and product defects. Defects or defects that are often encountered include the appearance of spots, bent parison which causes the bottle to bend (the bottle body is thin one side) and blow pin which causes the thread to not fit. Keywords— Bottle, Plastic, Defect, Extrussion Blow Molding

Abstract

The use of distance learning technology (e-learning) needs to be addressed so that learning objectives can be achieved effectively even though the activities are not carried out face-to-face in the classroom. One way to increase the focus and interest of students in learning activities is the use of elements in games in e-learning learning media or also known as gamification. Most of the gamification platforms are licensed or paid, so Teachers have to pay extra. The solution to this problem is to provide teachers with training and mentoring on the use of the online gamification platform where the application is free and simple to use. The purpose of this community service activity is to introduce and improve the digital competence of teachers and educators in using online gamification platforms (on the network) as a learning medium. The method used in service activities is the method of training and mentoring. The results of this community service activity are in the form of stages of making learning media using the wordwall.net gamification platform, namely opening the wordwall.net page, selecting Sign Up, setting up myActivities display, making Maze Chase, and evaluating/viewing student work. The conclusion of this activity is the increase in the digital skills of the activity participants, game and quiz-based learning media products, as well as practical guidebooks for using the gamification platform. Abstract

There are 6 brands of air masks on the market that are Evo med, Nexcare carbon, Nexcare daily, Indomaret, Borma and Evo club. All masks on the market have 3 layers. Based on the results of microscopy testing showed that the fiber diameter image of all mask brands in layer 2 is smaller than layer 1 and 3. Generally, all brands of masks show a uniform fiber size distribution. From the surface porosity measurements, Borma masks have a larger porosity than other masks in layers 1, 2 and 3 ie 60.64%, respectively; 42.95% and 63.58%. The results show that the difference in mask price in the market does not show the quality standards of different mask filters. Furthermore, the results of this study may contribute to the development of research on masks.

Abstract

Kelajuan serapan air menunjukkan kapilaritas serapan.
