Abstract

AbstractThis article focuses on news about Islam and character education in the online media tribunnews.com. Online media of choice in accessing information because of the speed and simplicity over an internet connection. Media has the ability to construct and frame the reality that Islam and character education has the potential to be constructed and framed by the online media in the form of news. This study aims to determine how online media framing and constructing reality tribunnews.com news about Islam and character education. This study uses qualitative research methods to the analysis of framing by Robert Entman focusing on problem identification, causal interpretation, moral evaluation, and treatment recommendation. The findings show that tribunnews.com in Islam and character education framing tend to show support and appreciation of government and various circles to the development and strengthening of Islamic character education. Some paths that can be taken in the development of character education that is through education in schools, families and communities so that the necessary cooperation and participation of parents and teachers. Islamic character education is the key factor in avoiding the next generation in their negative behavior face the challenges of globalization and advances in information technology. Keywords: Islamic, Character Education, Framing, and Online Media. AbstrakArtikel ini fokus pada pemberitaan mengenai Islam dan pendidikan karakter di media online tribunnews.com. Media online menjadi pilihan dalam mengakses informasi karena faktor kecepatan dan kemudahannya melalui koneksi internet. Media memiliki kemampuan untuk mengonstruksi dan membingkai realitas yang ada sehingga Islam dan pendidikan karakter memiliki potensi untuk dikonstruksi dan dibingkai oleh media online dalam bentuk berita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana media online tribunnews.com membingkai dan mengonstruksi realitas berita mengenai Islam dan pendidikan karakter. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan analisis framing oleh Robert Entman yang berfokus pada problem identification, causal interpretation, moral evaluation, dan treatment recommendation. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa tribunnews.com dalam membingkai Islam dan pendidikan karakter cenderung menunjukkan dukungan dan apresiasi pemerintah dan berbagai kalangan terhadap pengembangan dan penguatan pendidikan karakter yang islami. Beberapa jalur yang bisa ditempuh dalam rangka pembangunan pendidikan karakter yaitu melalui jalur pendidikan di sekolah-sekolah, keluarga, dan masyarakat sehingga diperlukan kerja sama dan peran serta orang tua dan guru. Pendidikan karakter yang Islami menjadi kunci utama dalam menghindarkan generasi bangsa dalam perilaku yang negatif menghadapi tantangan di era globalisasi dan kemajuan teknologi informasi. Kata Kunci: Islam, Pendidikan Karakter, Framing, dan Media Online.

Abstract

This study was held at Fajar and Tribun Timur offices in Makassar. This research is describedthrough texts, discourse practice, and socio-cultural practice by using CDA (Critical Discourse Analysis) fromNorman Faircloughs’ model. The model includes textual level, discourse practice level, and socio-culturalpractice level. The type of this research is qualitative approach. This approach tries to get closer to what is beingstudied, that is gender domination in Fajar and Tribun Timur daily newspapers. It aims at in-depth and holisticunderstanding of gender domination in newspapers. Its flexibility is well suited to make interpretation todescribe the facts and the phenomena of gender in newspapers as the way they are based on the data found. Theresearch aims; to identify the domination of gender in Fajar and Tribun Timur daily newspapers, to analyse howgender dominations are expressed in those daily newspapers, and to analyse the effect of gender domination onnews stories in those newspapers. The result of this research shows that Fajar and Tribun Timur daily are stillmale dominated discourse in the news-making process which influences the news stories printed in thosenewspapers. Gender domination in Fajar and Tribun Timur daily newspapers as a discourse has been proven toaffect our views on news stories text, news stories production, and socio-cultural practices.

Abstract

One of the biggest conflicts that has become the center of attention of the world including Indonesia is the conflict between Israel and Palestine. The conflict between Israel and Palestine is the focus of mass media coverage throughout the world including online media in Indonesia, namely Kompas.com and Republika.co.id. Online media has the ability to construct and to frame reality. But in framing reality each media has a different perspective. This study aims to find out how online media framing of Republika.co.id and Kompas.com against the Palestinian and Israeli conflicts. This study uses a qualitative research method with framing analysis by Robert Entman that focuses on problem identification, causal interpretation, moral evaluation, and treatment recommendation. The findings show that Kompas.com and Republika co.id tend to give moral pretexts by highlighting Palestine and Israel in resolving conflicts through diplomatic relations through international conferences and based on international law. In addition, there is the role of the United Nations and world leaders who take action and respond.

Abstract

 Indonesia's cultural wealth is one of the potential strengths to create harmony and the formation of national character. Cultural diffusion through diplomacy is a way that can build a good dialogue about the worthy values in culture to a wider society. The film consists of two elements, namely, the narrative element as a story builder framed in a theme to sharpen the story message. And cinematic elements that provide audio-visual support clearly and more detailed. The ability of films for diplomacy purposes in communicating the cultural values of this nation has no doubt. Film is a combination of various fields of art that flows unity in one and is supported by technology so that the film has the ability to be an effective medium of communication in the current era.
