Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kosa kata siswa dengan menggunakan model Pembelajaran Picture and Picture dengan Media Games Android dan untuk mengetahui minat siswa terhadap penggunaan model Pembelajaran Picture and Picture dengan Media Games Android pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 35 Makassar. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya pembendaharaan kosa kata siswa sehingga menyebabkan rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam pelajaran bahasa inggris. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimental. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah kelas tujuh SMPN 35 Makassar pada tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Penelitian ini menggunakan kluster sampling. Sample dalam penelitian terdiri dari 60 siswa yang terdapat dalam dua kelompok; 30 siswa di kelompok kontrol dan 30 siswa di kelompok eksperimen. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes kosakata yang dianalisa secara deskriptif dan statistik inferensial melalui program SPSS versi 20 untuk Windows.

Abstract

The focus of this study on the implementation of audio books as teaching media for blind students in learning English. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of audio books as teaching media for blind students in learning English and to find out audio books used in learning EFL. The study was conducted at SLB YAPTI Makassar with a number of samples taken were 20 students conducted randomly. The instruments in this study were tests, observations, and questionnaires. The results of the study show that the implementation of audio books as teaching media for blind students in learning English can help students in the learning process. The implementation of the audio book also increases student motivation in learning because it makes it easier for students to study anywhere and anytime.

Abstract

The objectives of the research were (1) to describe the students satisfaction on bilingual program at secondary school in Makassar and (2) to find out the students’ interest and motivation in learning English through Bilingual Program. The researcher applied mixed method namely triangulation mixed method design (QUAN-QUAL). The population of this research was the students of SMPN 12 Makassar in academic year 2015/2016. This research used purposive sampling. The sample of this research consisted of 40 students; 20 students from seventh grade and 20 students eight grade. In this research also, the researcher took 40 parents and 10 teachers as a sample. The research data were collected by questionnaire which was analyzed by descriptive statistic through SPSS version 16 for windows program. The result of data analysis shown that bilingual program improve English students skills, bilingual program makes the students mastery in English and learn it in their subjects matter (Mathematics, Science, and English). Bilingual also makes the students have better skills in learning English and, bilingual program has helped the students to develop as a person (students’ personality). The implementation of bilingual program at secondary school make the students are interested and motivated in learning English. From this fact, it points out the way of school and the governments to keep this program and make a policy to make this program keep going

Abstract

The objective of the research was to know the use of an authentic material as teaching media to motivate students in learning English. The writer used qualitative design with the total number of samples in this research being 40 students. The researcher applied questionnaire and interview. The researcher analyzed the data using interactive model of analysis. In analyzing the numerical data, the writer used SPSS for windows. After conducted the research, the writer concludes that authentic materials can improve the students to understand the real context used by native speaker, improve students’ knowledge, Improve students’ English competence in both spoken and written, improve students’ vocabulary, introduce the culture of native speaker, improve students’ listening ability, motivate students to learn, motivate students to learn autonomously and it is compulsory subject from the school.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to know the influence of British Recording Audio as a media towards students listening comprehension at theeleventh grade of SMA Negeri 3 Makassar.In this study the writer used quantitative research to find the data and results of tests that have been done by the writer to see the ability of the students in understanding their listening. This research was conducted on December, 8th2020at the Eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 3 Makassar, in the academic year 2020/2021. The population of this research was Eleventh-Grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Makassar which of 270 students divided into nine classes which each class consists of approximately 30 students. The writer took 11 grade class which consisted of 30 students. The writer choose sample randomly depends on student’s comprehension in listening. Based on research findings shows that the value of mean score in pre-test was 47 and posttest was 67. The t-test of this research was 19.287 was higher than t-table 1.697 with the significance 0,05. It means that British Recording Audio had a significance influenced towards students listening comprehension at the third-grade of SMA Negeri 3 Makassar. Based on the research conducted at SMA Negeri 3 Makassar, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference teaching student using British Recording Audio in listening comprehension for the eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Makassar in academic year 2020/2021. It can be seen based on the student’s post-test scores in teaching listening is higher than the student’s post-test scores using British Recording Audio

Abstract

The development of technology is one of the factors that participate in influencing the behavior of students in learning. In this study, the author tries to create an interesting learning media for students and can be used not only during class hours but wherever and whenever they can access it. One of the media that can be used is E-book. This study uses Research and Development using the ADDIE Model. The population and sample of this study were Nursing Students STIKES YAPIKA Makassar in the 2020/2021 academic year. The development procedure is divided into five stages, namely 1) Analysis stage in the form of literature study and field study and needs analysis, 2) Design stage, 3) Development stage, 4) Implementation stage and 5) Evaluation stage. Research data were collected using documentation and questionnaires which were analyzed descriptively and inferential statistics through SPSS version 22 for Windows. It is hoped that from the results of this study, lecturers can apply or use learning media that are in accordance with the times, namely E-books that can be accessed by students not only in class but anywhere and anytime. With the E-book-based learning media, it is hoped that student literacy culture can also increase

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the use of code-mixing and code-switching, specifically found in social media, such as Instagram Tik Tok and Facebook daily status. The design of this research review is a descriptive qualitative study since it focused on the phenomenon of code-mixing and code-switching. Related to that, in this study, the researcher focused on articles code-mixing and code-switching use. Moreover, the data were collected by examining several articles. The study result shows that the reasons for using code-mixing and code-switching are discussed in a particular topic, where all of the selected subjects picked that reason. However, the researcher found three additional reasons out that: Some of the influencers have different reasons why use code-mixing or code-switching, such as changing topic, lack of vocabulary, practice, English mastery, bilingual/multilingual, and trend.

Abstract

Student satisfaction measures are a core element of comprehensive institutional assessment planning and services as a formal needs assessment to make improvements quickly by developing plans and priorities for educational activities and can also help schools to find out student expectations of all aspects of the service provided. The focus of this study to investigate the satisfaction on learning EFL based on students perception to work mechanism of English teacher. Qualitative method used in this research. There were 360 students from some senior high school in Makassar as population in this research with total  number of sample were 30 students taken by using purposive sample. The research instruments were interview, and questionnaire. The work Mechanism of English teacher has walked better. That can be analyzed by pursuant of data field from students perception that English teacher in bringing the materials  have used assorted of method, using planning in teaching, owning ability to manage the class better, and discipline in running the duty. But based on the data obtained in the field, there are still some teachers using conventional methods that make students feel bored in class. After conducted this research, , it is expected that the policies of stakeholders, especially in schools so that in the future the learning process will run better and the quality of teachers will be better so that the output obtained is far better than before.

Abstract

Student Facilitator and Explaining Learning Model is a learning model where students learn to present ideas / opinions to other fellow students. This learning model is effective for training students to speak to convey their own ideas or opinions. This learning model will be relevant if students actively participate in designing the learning material to be presented. By collaborating students' ideas into video blogs or digital content that can be uploaded on social media such as Instagram, YouTube or Facebook, it is hoped that students can improve their speaking skills and be able to motivate students in the language learning process. This study used a quasi-experimental method. The population of this study is the ninth grade of SMPN 35 Makassar in the academic year 2020/2021. This study uses cluster random sampling. The sample in the study consisted of 60 students who were in two groups; 30 students in the control group and 30 students in the experimental group. The research data were collected using speaking tests, which was analyzed descriptively, and inferential statistics through the SPSS version 22 program for Windows. The results of this study indicate that there was a significant improvement after the implementation of the Student Facilitator and Explaining Learning Model on students' speaking skills. Based on these results, it is hoped that teachers, principals and stakeholders with an interest in education development can apply this learning model in terms of improving students' speaking skills and increasing student motivation in learning languages.

Abstract

The aims of this study was (1) To find out the significant brain writing learning model using episodic memory in teaching narrative texts (2) to determine the students' interest in applying brain writing learning model using episodic memory in teaching  narrative text. This study used quasi-experimental method. This research was conducted at SMPN 30Makassar with total number population consist of 810 students. The researcher used a random sampling technique. The total sample used was 60 students. The researcher divided the sample into two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The instruments of the research were tests, questionnaires and interviews. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that brain writing learning model using episodic memory in teaching narrative texts not significantly  improve the students achievement especially in writing narrative text. Brain writing learning model using episodic memory also is very effective to be applied to avoid student boredom and make students more interest in learning process.
