This research will compare the value of levelling data obtained by high GPS survey measurements with the value of levelling terrestrial measurements using spirit leveling. From the measurement results, an average differential value of GPS levelling and spirit levelling is 0,056 m, the average difference for the spirit levelling accuracy is ± 0,016 m and a levelling GPS is ± 0,029. Standard deviation of the test results from leveling GPS is set all tolerances, so that the leveling from GPS survey can be applied for the purposes of aerial photographs vertical control points. The value of closing error from sprit levelling and GPS, respectively amounting to 0.015 m and 0.025 m, follow the Indonesian national standard, value of closing error from spirit leveling into a L3 order with closing error tolerance is > 12mm √D, while closing error from GPS leveling into a L4 order with closing error tolerance is >18mm √D.Keywords : vertical position, levelling,GPS survey, Spirit leveling
