Abstract

Kata kunci : Oksigen Terlarut, Pola sebaran, Teluk Banten   Observation of dissolved oxygen concentration in Banten Bay was carried out in April, August and October 2001. Water sample taken by using Nansen bottle from 20 stations at surface (0 meter), 10 meter and 25 meter to know dissolved oxygen distribution and also factors influencing in the Banten Bay Waters. The results at surface layer showed that the highest concentrations of dissolved oxygen (5,70 – 6,27 mg/l; 6,18 ± 0,16 mg/l) were found on April. On August were ranged 5,60 – 6,27 mg/l; 5,86 ± 0,13 mg/l and lowest concentrations were found in October (4,71 – 5,97 mg/l; 5,79 ± 0,31 mg/l). The lowest concentration was found close to mouth of Pontang River, while the highest concentrations were found at offshore area. The effect of the monsoon did not show a significant difference and still in the suitable condition for marine life. Key words: Dissolved oxygen, distribution pattern, Banten Bay Waters
