INCOME ANALYSIS OF ANORGANIC and ORGANIC PAKCOY FARMING IN TOMOHON

Abstract

This objective of this study is to determinethe amount of income earned by pakcoy non-organic farming and organic pakcoy farming income. This research is located in Tomohon for 3months (June 2012 to August2012).Data is collected by survey method assisted with a list of questions to non-organic and organic pakcoy farmers. Determination of the respondents for this study used two ways, firstly to growers of non-organic vegetables pakcoy using purposive sampling with 6 respondents, and secondly organic pakcoy farmers using census method by 6 respondents. The data is presented in tabular form and then analyzed using descriptive analysis.The results showed that the R/C ratio of non-organic farmers pakcoy was 1.35 which means that any expenditure of Rp. 1 provides revenue of Rp. 1.35 while for organic farmers pakcoy was 2.2 which means that any expenditure of Rp. 1 gives revenue of Rp. 2.2. R/C ratio of non-organic pakcoy farmers and organic farmers pakcoy value was greater than1. This means farming made a profit, but the most beneficial was the farming of organic pakcoy farming . Average revenue per ha for pakcoy non-organic farming was Rp. 1,511,721 smaller when compared to the average income per Ha pakcoy organic farming was Rp.3,878,527.
