Abstract

Abstrak. Tumbuhan matoa (Pometia pinnata) dikenal senagai tanaman khas dari Papua danamenjadiaflora identitasaProvinsi Papua Barat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan aktivitas antioksidanaekstrak metanol dari kulit batang matoa. Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan metode maserasi, sedangkan uji aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan metode penangkapann radikal bebas DPPH. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak metanol kulit batang matoa tergolong kuat dengan harga IC-50=70,93 ppm Kata kunci: Pometia pinnata, aktivitas antioksidan, ekstrak metanol, DPPH. Abstract. Matoa (Pometia pinnata) is known as a typical plant of Papua and became the identity flora of West Papua Province. The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity of the methanol extract of matoa?s stem bark. Extraction was conducted by maceration method while antioxidant activity test was carried out using DPPH free radical scavenging method. The result showed that antioxidant activity of methanol extract of matoa stem bark was strong category with IC50 value of 70.93 ppmKey words: Pometia pinnata, antioxidant activity, methanl extract, DPPH.
