GENDER AND BEHAVIOR THERAPY PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS: CORRELATION STUDY INDONESIA

Abstract

Gender is an important determinant of health. Biological sex and gender interactions are constructed socially to produce different risks and vulnerabilities to poor health, and differences in health seeking behavior for women and men. This study aimed   to gender and behavior Tuberculosis Patient. This study was a cross sectional observational study. The samples in this study were 43 people in the patients who failed pulmonary TB and dropped out in treatment in 2018. All of respondents visiting the Supporting Public Health Center of Garuda. Data analysis uses statistical tests chi square test to determine the relationship Gender and behavior therapy pulmonary tuberculosis.Technic sampling with accidental sampling and used instrument kuesioner. A total of 43 patients with TB were included in the study, including 15 males (34.9%) and 28 females (65.1%), Female gender was associated with longer behavior therapy among (RR, 95% CI 1.250 (1.154?2.058). Gender influences the behavior of TB sufferers, women are more obedient than men.
