<![CDATA[This research is motivated by the group learning is not optimal and the understanding of mathematic concept the class VII students of SMPN 1 Bayang Utara is low. One of the means for improving the students understanding of mathematic concept is applying the cooperative learning model with NHT type accompanied by quiz. The purposes of this research is to know: 1) how the development understanding of mathematic concept indicators by using this the NHT type accompanied by quiz the class VII of SMPN 1 Bayang Utara , 2) whether the understanding of mathematic concept by using this model is better than using the conventional learning the class VII students of SMPN 1 Bayang Utara. This is an experimental research with Random to Subject design. The population in this research is class VII students of SMPN 1 Bayang Utara of the year 2012/2013, consist of two classes. The sampling technique is total sampling made randomly for determining the samples. So, in VII1 class is selected as an experimental class and the VII2 class as a control. The instrument used valid and reliable tests for the understanding of mathematic concept in the form essay on the convidence interval of 95%. Based on the results of data analysis, the students undersanding mathematic concept  by applying NHT-type cooperative learning model with quiz is better than using the conventional learning the class VII students of SMPN I Bayang Utara of the year 2012/2013.]]>
